Chapter 1104: Chapter 1104: What Bad Luck

The assassin t a grueso end, as a Restriction had been placed on him. Uttering the "Heaven-Slaying Art" triggered backlash, causing his Sea of Consciousness to explode.

While eliminating several assassins, the "Qilin Technique" Chen Nan cultivated also activated on its own. Although suppressed, it still caused a layer of blood-red to spread in his eyes.

He put away the assassins’ storage bags, which contained only so Spirit Stones And Elixirs. Like other assassins, they never carried other items.

"I must hurry to Yama Hall as soon as possible."

Chen Nan turned to leave but suddenly glanced at a giant boulder not far away. With a slight smile, he left.

From behind the boulder, Elder Bai, who always stayed by Lady Shang’s side, slowly erged, stroking his beard with a slightly surprised expression.

"Could it be that he discovered

just now?"

"Impossible. I’m at the Peak of Golden Core Stage. How could he possibly notice ? It must be a coincidence!"

Elder Bai comforted himself, then chuckled and said, "Miss even had

protect him, but it seems completely unnecessary now."

...

In the boundless desert, yellow sands roared, and solitary smoke trailed across the vastness, as a cal caravan slowly trekked through the sands.

The long trail left behind was quickly covered by the yellow sands.

"Brother Chen, it’s getting late. We’ll camp here tonight, sorry for the inconvenience."

The leader of the caravan approached a young cultivator, smiling apologetically.

The young cultivator waved his hand and said, "Brother Liu, don’t worry about . I’m not so pampered child; just go ahead with what you’ve planned."

Hearing him say this, the bearded caravan leader sighed in relief, chuckling, "Alright then, bear with us while we roast so at tonight!"

Soon, the caravan bustled with activity. They encircled the cals, pitched tents within, and started a campfire.

The young cultivator sat quietly on a stone nearby, watching the scene.

He was none other than Chen Nan, now going by the alias Chen San.

After parting ways with Lady Shang, he headed to Yong State, also known as Xuanmo State, a region characterized by deserts and plateaus.

His goal was to reach a city in the desert called Immortal Cal City. He happened upon this caravan along the way, hoping to gather so information, so he joined them.

Raising his head to gaze at the moon, it seed larger in the desert than anywhere else.

"Brother Chen, co eat."

Soon, a lively young woman with a small braid bounded over to Chen Nan.

Because of frequent travels in the desert, the woman’s skin was a healthy tan, and her large eyes blinked charmingly.

"Alright."

Chen Nan smiled, getting up to walk towards the fire with her.

The girl’s na was Liu Xiaoyue, daughter of Liu Sheng, the caravan leader. She was quite curious about Chen Nan, this cultivator who joined them midway.

The caravan consisted of thirty cals, more than a dozen guards, and over thirty people in total, transporting a large batch of goods.

But in the desert, a caravan of this size only counted as a small one. They couldn’t even afford storage bags, and their overall cultivation did not exceed the Foundation Establishnt Fifth Layer.

Among the caravan, the one who left the deepest impression on Chen Nan was a thin teenager. Though only seventeen or eighteen, he appeared cold and taciturn.

He seed out of place with the group, yet Chen Nan clearly saw a glint of hatred deep in the teenager’s eyes.

Chen Nan had no intention of delving into others’ affairs; he only planned to part ways with the caravan upon reaching Immortal Cal City.

Once seated, Liu Xiaoyue promptly tore off a lamb chop and handed it to Chen Nan, "Brother Chen, eat!"

The lamb chops were charred and tender, juices still dripping, making one’s mouth water at the sight.

Even though Chen Nan had long mastered Fasting and had no need for food, he still accepted it, savoring the taste.

Liu Xiaoyue sat beside Chen Nan, resting her head on her knees, eyes wide open, fixated on him.

"Brother Chen, you’re definitely not an ordinary person, are you?"

"Oh?" Chen Nan bit into a piece of lamb. "Why do you say that?"

"Just a hunch." Liu Xiaoyue smiled proudly. "I’ve traveled far and wide with my father and t many people, but Brother Chen, you have an aura about you."

"I can’t exactly define it, but those with such an aura aren’t ordinary people."

Chen Nan smiled, finding the young girl a bit too naive. "You must be mistaken; I’m just an ordinary cultivator."

"I don’t believe you!" the girl huffed, "Brother Chen need not say, but there’s no need to lie to

either."

Chen Nan couldn’t help but chuckle.

Amidst the camaraderie, even opening so of the wine they were transporting, a wild wind suddenly picked up in the distance.

In the moonlight, they could see the yellow sands lifted by the gale, transforming into a sand wave rushing towards their caravan!

"It’s a sandstorm, take cover!"

Liu Sheng shouted loudly, and his n busied themselves.

They gathered the cals and placed all their goods inside, preventing the storm from sweeping them away.

Traveling the desert, they had faced such situations often, so they were not panicked.

But Chen Nan, glancing at the sandstorm, narrowed his eyes slightly.

Because he sensed that this was no ordinary sandstorm.

"Brother Liu, be cautious."

Chen Nan advised Liu Sheng.

Liu Sheng’s face changed. Quickly finding the dozen or so guards in the caravan, giving them instructions, they swiftly sought shelter among the cals.

anwhile, they jointly activated an eighth-grade Spiritual Artifact, forming a yellow barrier around the caravan, enclosing them within.

The yellow sand roared over them, crashing against the barrier with a thud.

After a long while, the sandstorm finally passed, and everyone lifted their heads.

But before they could rejoice, three figures appeared under the huge moon.

"Sand bandits, get ready to fight!"

Liu Sheng yelled imdiately, and the caravan’s guards rushed to the front, tense and alert.

"Nothing but small fry, what bad luck!"

The three figures arrived at the caravan’s front. They wore loose robes and hoods, with face scarves over their faces.

This was the most common attire in the desert, effectively shielding against the sand.

"Let’s get it over with; this small caravan can hardly have anything worthwhile. What a wasted trip!"

One of them waved impatiently, clearly dismissing the caravan.

Liu Sheng’s eyes filled with despair; he couldn’t sense the cultivation of the three before him, indicating they were far superior.

"Sirs, we are just a small caravan, earning a modest living. We humbly ask for your rcy; we are willing to give you all our goods."

He approached respectfully, for now, lives mattered more. Losing goods was a secondary concern.

But the three sand bandits had no intention of letting them go!
