[This historical slice has been significantly distorted, and may present situations where the details differ greatly from historical records, with key characters completely disappearing. Players are advised to wisely discern and judge for themselves!]

[Correspondingly, the degree of freedom for players within the historical slice will be enhanced. As long as the final objective is achieved, there is no need to be overly strict about the process and details.]

Li Hongyun’s expression couldn’t help but beco a few shades more serious.

The difficulty of the ga had risen again!

Previous instances, of course, also faced distortions, especially where many heroic figures had been twisted into cowards, requiring players to discern and judge for themselves.

For instance, the likes of Yang Xinyan, Wang Zongchang, and others had been altered by demons in various ways, creating significant obstacles for players to overco.

But now, key characters could completely disappear?

The difficulty had obviously increased.

Previously, when players encountered distorted characters, they could directly assu the role and correct it, which would then allow them to clear the instance smoothly.

But now, what if key characters simply vanished?

What was to be done?

Clearly, players would have to use other characters, or even an ordinary soldier, to fill these gaps.

The difficulty had obviously increased given that key figures, whether in terms of physical fitness or reputation among allies, were not comparable to ordinary people.

However, on the other hand, players now had greater freedom; many aspects did not have to follow historical records, which was also fine.

In terms of gaplay, increasing both difficulty and freedom clearly enhanced the fun of the ga, and from the perspective of the ga’s narrative, as the Restorers ventured further upstream in history, they would inevitably encounter more severe distortions and manipulations. Their struggle against the demons would also beco more diverse, which made perfect sense.

Li Hongyun was ready; he lightly tapped the confirmation button on the prompt.

The next second, he found himself already at this crossing.

Without the choice of identity, nor the selection of innate talents.

"Is it starting already? I’m not ready yet!"

Li Hongyun looked down and noticed he was also wearing the Qi Army’s uniform, and by the looks of it, he was just an ordinary soldier.

At that mont, a huge boulder whistled through the sky.

"Bang!"

A loud noise erupted as the boulder crashed onto the shore, rolled a few tis, and unfortunately struck several Qi Army soldiers, imdiately turning them to a bloody pulp.

In the distance, nearly a hundred warships were sailing towards this side.

On these warships were flags fluttering with the large character "Jin" on them.

Li Hongyun instantly felt that sothing seed off, because this had nothing to do with what he had prepared for before—it was utterly unrelated.

He hurriedly grabbed a panicked-looking soldier beside him who seed ready to flee on the spot: "Where is this place!"

The soldier gave him a look as if he were looking at an idiot.

The corner of Li Hongyun’s mouth twitched, and he slapped the soldier twice, hard: "Speak! Where is this place!"

His body was strong and robust, far more formidable than the frail soldier, and after a couple of slaps, the soldier was quite stunned, not understanding why suddenly a lunatic had erged.

But under the intimidation, the bewildered soldier said, "This is... Niu Zhu Pier..."

Li Hongyun frowned involuntarily, a bad premonition creeping into his heart.

He continued to grip the soldier, pressing, "Where is Zhao Binfu?"

The soldier was even more confused, "Who’s that?"

Li Hongyun paused for a mont, "You don’t know Zhao Binfu? The Zhongshu Sheren! The one who ca to Niu Zhu Pier to reward the troops!"

The soldier’s face nearly contorted into a bitter gourd, "Don’t make fun of ! When did the court ever send soone to reward us? We’ve been fleeing all this way; we haven’t even seen any reinforcents, let alone so Zhongshu Sheren and reward troops?"

Clearly, in his view, Li Hongyun was a complete madman.

Everyone had fled together like dogs losing their hos, so why ask these out-of-the-blue questions...

Li Hongyun pushed the soldier aside, a bit dazed.

His brain was racing, processing a vast amount of information.

If it were any other player, perhaps they would still be confused, having no idea what to do.

But when Li Hongyun heard the three words "Niu Zhu Pier," he imdiately recalled which battle this was.

During the mid-Qi Dynasty, the Jin leader Wanyan Hailing took advantage of the twenty-year peace that both nations had maintained—Qi being lax in its defenses—and launched a massive invasion, mobilizing the whole country’s army of six hundred thousand to wipe out Qi and unify the world.

At that ti, Niu Zhu Pier was the necessary crossing for his river crossing, defended by rely less than twenty thousand n of the Qi Army.

And even before the battle began, they had already been routed repeatedly, fleeing at the sight of the enemy, their morale shattered.

But then, a mighty hero nad Zhao Binfu appeared.

He was originally just an ordinary Zhongshu Sheren, an administrative official with no real power, sent with Silver Tael, wine, and at to reward the army. Upon arrival, however, he found the soldiers in groups of three or five, wandering hither and yon; so even not wearing armor or carrying weapons—entirely lacking the will to fight, simply biding their ti until death while the Jin Army was plotting to cross the river.

Thus, Zhao Binfu imdiately reported back, asking to stay and lead the troops in a desperate resistance. The court, already in a state of dismay, seized the opportunity to let him take command of the frontline.

It was a battle that should have been impossible to win, but Zhao Binfu managed to pull off a victory, earning him praise as a "once-in-a-millennium hero."

That’s why, after finding out he was at Niu Zhu Pier, Li Hongyun imdiately asked for Zhao Binfu’s whereabouts.

Because he knew, in real history, Zhao Binfu could win this battle; finding Zhao Binfu was like securing a pillar of strength.

But he found that there was no such person here!

Was it that he simply hadn’t co at all? Or was it because this historical slice had been so severely distorted by demons that the man didn’t exist at all?

Li Hongyun watched the Jin Army already landing and realized this instance was a tiny bit different from what he had imagined...
