Alen and Tonto had been fighting for a while now. At first, Alen was holding his own, matching his opponent blow for blow, but it didn’t take long for him to realize the truth.

He wasn’t just fighting a strong opponent.

He was fighting a genius.

Tonto had done sothing Alen didn’t think possible. He had copied his entire fighting style, every rhythm, every motion, every trick, and was now using it against him. Except Tonto wasn’t using fire. His version was enhanced by golden energy, faster, sharper, and infinitely more precise.

Because of this, Alen no longer had the advantage.

Every ti he tried to launch a spell, every movent he made, Tonto was already responding, his hands flicking, his wrists snapping, releasing bursts of golden light at exactly the right monts. They weren’t large-scale spells. They didn’t need to be. Each tiny spark was placed perfectly to disrupt Alen’s casting, to keep him off balance.

And those small attacks... they added up.

If their powers clashed head-on, Alen knew the outco. The difference in mana, in sheer energy output, was too great. Eventually, he’d lose.

He could feel it already, the slight lag in his movents, the burn of exhaustion building inside.

Still, he refused to give in.

He focused on the fight in front of him, forcing his mind to stay sharp. Tonto’s expression, on the other hand, was full of excitent. The man wasn’t fighting to kill, he was fighting because he was having fun.

A flick of Tonto’s hand sent another wave of golden energy forward, crashing through Alen’s flas and scattering them apart. The light shot toward him like an arrow.

Alen kicked off the ground, using fire magic to propel himself backward. The burst of heat gave him just enough height to flip midair. In that mont, while upside down, he cast several fire spells at once.

He wasn’t trying to hit Tonto, he was trying to force him to react.

And just as he expected, Tonto charged forward. Golden energy flared from his wings, propelling him like a bullet. But this ti, he didn’t block the flas.

He took them head-on.

"Did you forget how strong our Light Magic is?" Tonto shouted. His grin was wild. "Sothing like this won’t even hurt!"

He brought both hands forward and unleashed a close-range blast of golden energy. The strike hit Alen square in the stomach.

The impact was brutal.

The explosion of light sent him flying backward, slamming him into the ground. Pain shot through his body as the golden flas burned through his blazer’s protective layer. The air left his lungs, and for a mont, his vision blurred.

His skin was scorched. His stomach felt like it was on fire.

But Alen gritted his teeth. He couldn’t stay down.

He slamd both hands against the ground and summoned fire magic again, using the explosion to launch himself upward. Then he switched, casting a gust of wind magic to cool his body and extinguish the flas before Tonto could close in.

"Oh, I see now!" Tonto laughed. "We’re getting creative, aren’t we?"

He raised his hand, ready to attack again.

But the mont he did, sothing red flashed through the air.

A blast of energy hit him before he even finished the motion.

From the elbow down, his arm vanished, completely obliterated.

"What the, ?!" Tonto turned his head, his eyes wide.

Hovering above the battlefield was a woman.

Her hands were soaked in blood. Red liquid dripped slowly from her fingertips, from her eyes, even from her hair. The sight was monstrous, like sothing out of a nightmare.

Beatrix.

Tonto froze. For the first ti in the fight, his grin faded. The sheer pressure radiating from her body was suffocating.

He quickly retreated, letting his golden wings flare behind him. His missing arm began to heal instantly, glowing as new flesh reford, but he didn’t take his eyes off her.

Beatrix moved forward.

Tonto snapped both arms out, releasing rapid bursts of golden energy, tiny but lethal, the sa kind of precision fire he’d used against Alen. Each blast cut through the air at blinding speed, filling the space between them.

But Beatrix didn’t even flinch.

With her bloodied hands, she flicked her wrists, deflecting every single strike. The sparks of golden energy vanished midair, shredded apart by the red aura swirling around her palms.

Her movents were fast, unnaturally fast, but graceful, fluid, and calculated. The kind of movents only a Pagna warrior trained in martial arts could perform.

She continued to advance, step by step, until she stood right in front of him.

Tonto’s instincts scread at him to act.

He brought both hands together and aid directly at her head, unleashing a concentrated palm strike. The golden light between his palms roared like a miniature sun.

But Beatrix didn’t dodge.

She stomped her foot into the ground with explosive force. The impact caused the light to scatter upward, missing its target entirely. Before Tonto could recover, Beatrix extended both arms.

Her hands clamped against the sides of his head.

"Sh*t, !"

Those were the last words that left his mouth.

The red energy surged.

A single pulse of power erupted from Beatrix’s palms, and Tonto’s head exploded like a waterlon under pressure. Blood sprayed across the field, raining down in crimson droplets. His body twitched once, then fell limp, wings fading into dust.

Beatrix stood there, her arms still raised, her face half-shadowed beneath blood and smoke.

Her chest rose and fell steadily, calm, controlled.

The fight was over before it had even begun.

Alen, still recovering from his burns, pushed himself up on one elbow. His eyes widened at the sight.

Tonto, the man who had matched his every move, was gone. Just like that.

But Beatrix wasn’t looking at him.

She turned her head slightly, scanning the field for the final mber of the Cerebus Guild.

Yet Yellum was nowhere to be found.

The golden-winged woman had already fled, disappearing into the horizon while the air still vibrated with the aftermath of Beatrix’s attack.
