When Kelly had learned that she and Raze would have two hours together. She thought maybe she could get to know the Dark Magus more.

He had revealed who he was the last ti they had t, and she had a lot of admiration for him. She wanted to thank him for saving her family in the past.

To shine the truth and light on the scum that were in her town, but she didn't know how to say it without it sounding so strange and weird.

So instead, she was going to make the suggestion to go for lunch together, and perhaps bring up the conversation more naturally. Maybe it would even be like a... date.

Yet, the ideas, and the happy mories that spun in Kelly's head quickly disappeared as the question was asked.

"You can perform a silence spell right? So no one can hear us?" Kelly asked.

"I already have done," Raze replied. "Any talk of Dark magic and the Dark Guild should be kept just to us."

Using such a spell in the middle of the street wouldn't stand out either, as it was the norm for people to gossip, share secrets, and even openly talk about politics they disagreed and agreed with without having to worry about other's opinions.

Even in a world of magic, the problems one's shared in other worlds were always the sa.

"Right, I guess I should answer. I'm sure Harvey would have told you himself," Kelly answered. "Whenever he talks about it, he talks as if he's extrely proud."

"And judging by the way you're speaking now, you don't sound proud?"

Kelly hesitated to answer. Although the Dark Magus in her mind was more of a just person than others thought, was that true? Even Sophie had claid that she wasn't a good person with what she had done in the past.

Maybe it was only Kelly that believed that what the Dark Magus could do for the world would be truly good. Reluctantly, she decided to just explain, and see how Raze would react.

"What he does, it being good or bad, or unjust or not, is not for to decide. It's for you," Kelly answered. "You should know Harvey's real position as a chief police officer."

"Because of that, he has a database he can access. Those who have a criminal record who are roaming the streets outside, and of course, those that he deals with on a case-to-case basis." "For those that already have a criminal record, it's hard for them to get back into society, to make a living. He convinces them to join the Dark Guild as a way into society."

"Or to convince them that they can amount to sothing better. It all starts with teaching them Dark Magic. If they learn Dark Magic, then they are wanted by the outside world anyway. Surprisingly, these people have been more loyal than I thought."

"They were forced, so I thought there would be so resistance, but it seems they're happy with aiming for sothing, and I don't know if Harvey gives them long speeches about you or what, but they look up to you."

"As for the criminals he catches in the open, he states that they get away as long as a deal is made. In particular, I've seen so of the stronger mbers co from this batch."

"And honestly, sotis it's hard to control them. Or at least it was. Since Harvey made this whole ranking system, it's brainwashed them into thinking that they can't go against anything we say!"

Kelly stopped there, as she realized she was ranting quite a bit. She was originally planning to just state the facts of the matter and not anything else.

To not try to sound as if she was biased against the whole idea.

"It appears that it has helped you grow as well. I can tell you're a four-star mage now, correct?" Raze replied. "I guess with so many people joining, for you to keep your position as one of the founders, you have had to push yourself far, you did well."

Hearing those words from Raze, gave a boost to her feelings. Instantly, she felt like her hard work had paid off, and she hadn't been trying hard for no reason.

She wondered if this was how the Shadow Acolytes felt when she praised them as well. Often she would see this type of look on their face.

"I can see why you are upset or conflicted about Harvey's thods. Essentially, he is placing people into a position where they can't refuse."

"The thods are ones that I wouldn't use. Sotis it's good to have those like that on our side, to do the things that we are unwilling to do."

"But the Dark Guild is needed if we want to go up against our enemies. And as long as their life in the guild itself is better for them, then so be it."

"The one thing I dislike is the criminals themselves. I'm sure perhaps so of them have gone too far. If they're strong in magic, their cris couldn't have been small."

Raze was starting to think of what Trubin had done to his family, and how maybe so of those in the organization were the sa.

"It's an issue that can be sorted out later, but it is not my job to be the judge of this world," Raze added.

Kelly understood and nodded. She was honestly just thankful that the Dark Magus didn't tell her off for feeling this way. She wanted to know if she was the weird one in the situation. More than that though, she was sowhat happy with the Dark Magus's answers as well. He wasn't the truly evil man that people thought he was, at least in her eyes.

"Ah, It appears I have the direct location for you now. And it says her brother is ready to et anyti," Kelly answered as she realized she was at the station herself that would allow her a quick way to head back to the academy.

"We will et back at the usual eting place at the end of the day. Find out what you can," Raze said, as the two of them parted ways.

anwhile, Harvey had managed to get in contact with all six hundred of the Dark Guild mbers.
