Dark Evolution Begins with Marrying an SSS-CLASS Blind Monster Chapter 85: Haunting Dreams
On the other hand, Nell was just sitting on the ground with his back pressed against the tree behind him.
He had a blank look on his face, and his gaze was focused on the ground.
He was in deep thought and didn’t have the ti or mood to look at his surroundings.
Monts ago when he was looking for monsters on the first floor, the thought of the voice who told him that he had killed his wife in his past life, ca to his mind.
It was a question that he wanted an answer to.
’What was that strange voice and why did it say those things?
Why did it claim that I killed my wife and what was it talking about reincarnation?’
These questions were floating around his mind, and he was trying to find answers to them.
But, he was having a hard ti.
He didn’t have any experience dealing with these kinds of situations and was just clueless.
’Am I going crazy?’
Nell asked himself, and his body slightly shivered as he rembered the strange dream he had a few nights ago.
In the dream, he was standing inside a dark place.
It was pitch black, and his clothes were completely drenched, probably from blood.
Because it felt so thick and had a really bad sll.
So, it can’t be water since the water is a soft substance and wouldn’t have the sa sll and texture as blood.
The only reason for his clothes being drenched would be the blood.
He was just standing there and his eyes were fixed on the scene in front of him where the soft shine of moonlight was falling.
It was on the dead bodies that were lying on the ground, and their limbs were scattered everywhere.
So had their heads chopped off, and so were missing their hearts.
Their eyes were wide open, and their faces were pale.
They also had their mouths slightly parted. It seed like they were screaming until the little bit of their life force vanished, and death claid them.
The ground was filled with their blood, and a large puddle had ford, due to the blood flowing out of their wounds.
It was a horrible scene, and the sll coming from it was making Nell feel nauseous.
"Urg—, who—"
Moving away from the grueso scene, a woman was lifted in the air by her throat and her face was facing the moonlight.
The lower part of her body was missing as if soone had chopped it off.
Her clothes were also covered in blood but instead of being red, it was kinda dark.
"Are yo—"
The woman’s hands were clutching the hand that was strangling her, and she was desperately trying to breathe.
However, the hand didn’t budge and just squeezed harder.
"Gurg, urk—"
A pained noise ca out of the woman’s mouth, and her whole body twitched and squird as her lungs begged for oxygen.
"Ahhh~"
But, nothing worked, and her lips slowly began to turn purple, and her grip began to weaken.
"Guh..."
Soon, her whole body went limp and her hands fell at her side, and her head lolled at the sides as the hand gripping her neck let go.
She was thrown to the ground, and a thud was heard.
"Who am I?"
Suddenly, the person who had strangled the woman to death spoke up, and its voice was so calm that it gave Nell chills.
"You are asking who I am?"
The voice was followed by a soft chuckle, then laughter, and the figure was soon laughing hysterically.
It was Ember.
"Do you want to know?"
She asked and moved her gaze to look at Nell who felt a sudden chill go down his spine.
"Do you?"
Her voice was cold, she was smiling, and yet, her face was emotionless, just like her leafy eyes that were shining with a bright glow, but, the life in them was nonexistent.
It was like staring into the eyes of a corpse.
She was standing there, in the middle of the corpses, and was staring at him.
Her hands were dripping with blood, and there were also so splatters on her cheeks and neck.
She was the source of the horrible stench, and the ground was dyed crimson due to her actions.
She had done sothing horrible.
"Answer , do you?"
She was looking at Nell, and as she was doing so, she lifted her hand and...
"Co here,"
With just a slight movent of her finger, Nell felt a strong force pulling him forward.
The force was too strong, and he had no other option but to comply.
"Don’t be afraid."
Ember spoke again and waved her hand causing the blood on her skin to fly in the air and land on the ground.
"I won’t hurt you,"
She was assuring Nellas that she wouldn’t do anything to him, her husband.
"Co closer,"
She added, and Nell took a step forward, and his foot touched the puddle.
"Closer,"
Ember repeated and Nell, who was struggling against the invisible force, was finally pulled toward her.
Once he was close enough, Ember reached her hands out and grabbed him by his shoulders, pulling him toward her and bringing his head closer.
"I won’t hurt you, okay?"
Nell wasn’t able to nod his head, because his eyes were filled with fear and panic.
He had no idea what was going on.
"Don’t be scared,"
Ember cooed, and her gaze shifted from Nell’s eyes to his lips and back to his eyes.
"Don’t be scared."
She repeated and smiled, which sohow didn’t ease Nell’s heart, but made his stomach twist instead.
"Everything will be alright,"
Ember assured, and her hands moved from his shoulder to his neck, and her fingers began to slowly move across his jawline.
"I won’t do anything bad."
She said and slowly licked her lips, which didn’t escape Nell’s eyes.
"I will not kill you. If... If...,"
Ember moved her face closer to Nell’s ear and began to whisper, her nose was touching Nell’s cheek, causing his heartbeat to increase.
"...if you just give a... Just one single reason."
She said and moved her face back, her eyes were glowing even more brightly than before, and they were reflecting the moonlight.
"Just one,"
The smile on her face turned upside down and was replaced by a frown, as her brows furrowed, and her lips twitched.
"And I will...,"
The fingers that were tracing Nell’s jawline were now gripping his neck, and Ember was squeezing it tightly.
"Urg,"
Nell couldn’t help but let out a groan.
He couldn’t breathe, and his hands instinctively tried to grip Ember’s wrist.
"Just give one reason no matter how small, a single reason and I will let you live. Or...,"
The smile was back on her face and it was much more sinister than before.
"Die a slow and painful death, just like how you killed ."
Saying it, her fingers gripped his neck even tighter, and the nails began to dig into his skin, drawing blood.
"Arrgh!"
A scream left Nell’s mouth, and his eyes began to tear up.
His vision was getting blurry, and the last thing he saw was a smile forming on Ember’s lips.
"Good night, my husband."
Those were the words Nell heard before the darkness enveloped him.
And just like the dream had ended.
Nellas didn’t know why he was getting these kinds of dreams.
But, it all started the day he t Ember.
After eting her, every night he slept, he would get a weird dream, and in that dream, he would see a figure of a person.
His wife?
Every ti the dream would be in the sa place with the sa people but with different outcos.
And now this dream which he had the first night after eting Ember was the longest, and the most disturbing.
This dream also sowhat resonated with the strange words that he heard when he was almost killed by a vampire.
"Do you rember how you killed her?"
That’s what the voice said.
"Just like how you killed ."
And that was what Ember in his dream said.
"Reincarnated, huh?"
Nell let out a small sigh and moved his hand to rub his neck.
"So to sum it up. Ember is reincarnated to kill and get revenge, while I was the one who killed her."
Nellas stated the truth that was given to him, and a deep frown was on his face.
’But, the question is, who am I?’
His brows were furrowed and his expression was filled with confusion and worry.
’If Ember is reincarnated then does it an I am also reincarnated?’
Yeah, that was right.
If they were husband and wife, then both of them should be reincarnated and they should have the mories of their past life.
Nevertheless, for now, he didn’t have even a single mory of his past life.
Moreover, the way Ember was treating him, indicated that she didn’t have her mories as well.
"Haaaa,"
A heavy sigh left Nell’s mouth as he rubbed his forehead and closed his eyes.
"Just what is going on?"
He muttered under his breath, and his body went limp as his back leaned against the tree.
