On the other hand, Ember was sitting on the bed with her knees hugged against her chest.

She didn’t know why she woke up at midnight and couldn’t sleep since then.

In fact, she was feeling sleepy but her body didn’t let her sleep.

Every ti she closed her eyes and was about to drift off, her body would start shivering, and her mind would go blank.

Which would result in her opening her eyes and not being able to fall asleep again.

She didn’t know why she was not able to fall asleep.

It was as if there was sothing inside her that was stopping her from sleeping.

And, no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t overco the force that was keeping her awake.

The only thing she could do was sit still and wait.

Wait for the ti to pass and the sun to rise, so that Marine, who was sleeping in the living room, on the couch, could also wake up.

Hence, she waited.

Waited.

Waited.

And waited.

Until the sun ca out.

However, all this ti, her heart was aching in her chest.

It was beating wildly, and it felt like sothing was pulling her heart.

’Pulling toward...’

Toward sothing.

She didn’t know what it was, but her instincts were telling her to go.

To go and see what was there.

But, what can a blind person see even if she goes out?

Nothing.

That was the answer.

She couldn’t see a single thing.

So, the woman ignored her heart’s desires and stayed still.

However, she couldn’t stop her mind from thinking about what was happening.

Why was she feeling this way?

Why?

It was not a clear thought, and it was not like she could act upon it.

Yet, her mind kept on repeating it.

As if her mind was trying to tell her sothing.

But, what?

What was it trying to say?

Ding!

[Host, I want to apologize to you in advance.]

The system’s screen suddenly appeared in front of her, and after reading the words on it, Ember was a bit surprised and confused.

Why was the system apologizing to her?

In advance at that?

What was it planning to do?

It was a strange occurrence, and she didn’t have ti to even ponder over it because the next mont the screen instantly vanished and her mind beca fuzzy.

Then, as her eyes slowly closed, she fell backward, and her head hit the pillow as a sudden, heavy, and powerful force entered her mind and pushed her into slumber.

She was unaware that her husband had used the system to make her sleep.

And now, she was in the dark void of slumber.

The place, where the drears would find peace, and their souls would be free.

It may seem like a strange place.

But, it was a good one for the ones who had gone through a lot.

Like, Ember.

....

anwhile, in the living room, the mobile placed on the table right next to the sofa began to ring.

Ring~!!!

Soon, after a few seconds of ringing, a hand ca and grabbed the mobile.

Click!

The call was accepted and the phone was brought near Marine’s ears.

"Hello,"

A sleepy and tired voice was heard, and the one who was calling the phone replied.

"Marine, there is an ergency! Co down right now. I am coming to pick you up."

The voice was urgent and loud, and it was clear that the speaker was panicking.

Marine’s body was still lying on the sofa, and her eyes were closed as she replied.

"Just give a few minutes, I will co out."

With that said, the call ended and the mobile was placed back on the table.

Marine stayed on the sofa for a few monts, and her body moved a bit as a small groan left her mouth.

Her face was twisted and her breathing was a bit ragged.

Then, after a minute or so, she finally got up from the sofa and stood still for a few monts.

"Ugh, what ti is it?"

Her hand moved and grabbed the mobile from the table as she pressed the power button to turn it on.

6:37 AM.

"Ugh, too early."

She didn’t even want to get up and go to work today.

So, she wasn’t happy to be called so early.

Moreover, the voice of the one who called was familiar.

It was her best friend, Aisha.

"Ugh, that idiot better not have done sothing stupid."

Marine sighed and went to her apartnt to freshen herself up and change her clothes.

After so minutes, she ca back into Nell’s apartnt and walked toward the kitchen.

"Hmm, let’s see. Egg, bread, and so heated milk."

She humd and began to make breakfast.

Then, after a few minutes, the food was ready, and she placed the bread and the milk on a tray before walking toward the room where Ember was.

She opened the door and moved forward.

"Em—"

Her words froze, and she couldn’t finish her sentence as her eyes fell on Ember’s face.

She looked peaceful.

There was no smile or frown on her face.

Instead, she was just sleeping peacefully.

And, she looked a bit happy.

A small sigh escaped Marine’s mouth and she carefully placed the food on the table.

"I should at least leave a note so that she doesn’t get scared when she wakes up."

She mumbled, however, she soon realized that the girl wouldn’t be able to read the note.

"Ah, what should I do?"

Marine was a bit conflicted.

After all, it would be impossible for Ember to see the food on the side table and eat it.

Moreover, the food could also fall and beco a ss.

So, she began to think of a solution.

"Ah, I got it."

In an instant, an idea appeared in her mind, and she grabbed her phone from her pocket and opened the dialer app.

There, in the most recent calls was the person who had called her just now.

Aisha.

Her best friend.

She clicked the na and the dialer screen changed to call.

Click!

"Where are you, Marine? I have already arrived you are not even here."

The call was connected, and Marine rolled her eyes as her best friend’s annoying voice reached her ears.

"Yeah, yeah, I am coming. Just wait. But before that, listen. Don’t hang up and connect a Bluetooth to the phone."

Marine explained and her words confused her friend.

"What? Why?"

"Just do it!" Shouting the words, Marine set her phone on loudspeaker, at a moderate volu, before placing it on the table beside the bed.

Then, she walked out of the building and when she was out, a red car ca into her vision.

Aisha was there and was honking the car’s horn as a gesture for her to co.

Marine ignored her friend’s idiotic action and walked to the passenger’s seat and sat down.

"Finally! What took you so long?!"

Her friend’s voice was loud, and the woman, with an annoyed expression on her face, turned to look at her best friend.

"Bluetooth?"

Marine said as she raised her hand and with a frown, Aisha placed a Bluetooth earbud in her palm.

"Here."

Marine placed the earbud in her right ear and after that, she asked.

"Is the call still going?"

"Yea, it is."

Hearing the words she wanted to hear, Marine nodded her head, and a small smile ford on her lips as she said.

"Okay, now let’s go."

Her words were light and happy, and after a montary silence, the car moved and began to drive away.

"So, what is this ergency you talked about?"

Marine asked because she wanted to know what her friend was panicking about and was hoping that it wasn’t a stupid thing.

"It isn’t an ergency, however, it is sothing very serious. You won’t believe even if I tell you."

The words were a bit mysterious, and Marine’s eyebrows rose as her friend’s voice reached her ears, "Serious?"

Aisha didn’t reply and the car drove silently for a few seconds before she finally nodded her head and spoke up.

"Yes, very serious. It threatens the whole city, and possibly, the whole country."

Her voice was serious, and Marine’s expression also beca the sa as her friend’s.

"Then what is it?"

Marine questioned and Aisha took a deep breath before answering her.

"Just so hours ago every guild in the city received a ssage saying sothing really terrifying."

She paused and Marine couldn’t help but urge her, "Go on."

"It said that an anonymous Hero had entered an S-Class dungeon, ALONE."

"WHAT?!!"

The car abruptly stopped, and Marine’s face turned pale as she stared at her friend.

"You, are you joking?"

Her question was filled with disbelief, and Aisha’s eyes were wide as she shook her head, "I am not."

Marine didn’t know how to react and her heart was beating faster and louder.

She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

It was crazy.

It was insane.

It was madness.

"Who would enter a dungeon alone? And, an S-Class dungeon at that. If they are unable to clear it then in so hours its entrance will explode and the monsters inside the dungeon will flood out and wreak havoc."

Her voice was urgent and Aisha sighed before continuing.

"This is why every Hero available in the city is gathering around the entrance and will try to stop the monsters from coming out. We are going there too."

Hearing the plan, Marine didn’t reply and instead, took a deep breath before telling her friend to start driving.

"Then, be fast. We have to be there before anything bad happens."
