Dark Evolution Begins with Marrying an SSS-CLASS Blind Monster Chapter 60: The Old Man Issac
Inside a room located in an unknown location, a fan was rotating and its Creech, Creech, Creech sound was the only source of noise inside the room.
The curtains on the only window were shut, and the light bulb that was attached to the wall was blinking with the sound of ’Clicking’ and ’Buzzing’.
As for the wires that connected the bulb and fan to the switches were also hanging and swaying, and the whole room looked as if it was abandoned.
The board in which every switch was fixed, was also hanging off the wall, and the only reason it wasn’t completely on the floor was because of the wires that were tightly installed in the switches.
Suddenly, a ’clicking’ sound could be heard, and the mont it did, the bulb lit up and illuminated the room without blinking.
The creech of the fan also stopped, and it was completely silent, except for the sound of ’Whooshing’ air.
Now, the room looked a bit better, but it didn’t change the fact that it was an old and shabby room.
No, not a room.
It wasn’t a room to begin with.
The whole place just looked like a basent and a very old one at that.
It seed empty except for the wooden desk that was placed in the middle, and a few chairs which were around it.
But, the thing that was surprising, was the fact that the chairs and the desk were brand new and were not dirty like the walls of the basent.
Spiderweb could be seen covering all four corners of the roof, making the whole place look like a dump.
The ground was filled with dirt and the floor was not cented but was made of bricks.
The basent was not a good place, and if a normal person entered it, he or she would probably get a feeling that the place was haunted and filled with negative energy.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t the ti to be looking at the room’s appearance, as there were two people standing inside.
One of them was a woman who was holding a set of three screwdrivers, a pair of scissors, and a silicone tape in her hands.
As for the second one, it was the old man, Issac.
He was standing on a chair, and in one of his hands he was holding a plier, and in the other was a wire, while his mouth was busy humming a song.
He was working, and the woman, who was watching him from the side, couldn’t help but sigh, before asking, "Do you really have to do this?"
Issac didn’t respond and just kept humming the sa song, while the woman sighed once again.
"Mr. Issac, don’t you think it is ti to stop this? I an, the technology is improving every day, can’t we just renovate this place and buy new things instead of fixing the old ones? After all, they are already very old and might not last for another month."
The woman said, and a mont later, the man lowered his head and looked at her.
"Hmm, the technology is advancing, you are right. But, that doesn’t an we can ignore the old stuff and completely rely on the new ones."
Saying that the man turned around and began to work again.
With the help of the plier, he removed the dead wires that had burned out, and then, he connected the new ones with the switches.
"Besides, it is quite fun to do these kinds of things, isn’t it? And, it also gives us sothing to do when what we do is sit there all day, doing nothing. Haha,"
He added, and the woman, who was listening to him, couldn’t help but smile.
This room, basent, or whatever you want to call it, was their office.
Yes, they worked here and did their job in this seemingly weak-looking place.
It was a bit weird because, how can an office be in a place like this?
The answer was quite simple.
It was because of the job they were doing.
Their job was a bit secret, and no one knew about them except a few people.
But, it was not like they were hiding or trying to be hidden. No, the truth was, no one even bothered to find them or search for their identity.
Because, if anyone did, they would be sent straight to hell.
This was not an exaggeration. It was the truth, and the proof was the fact that no one had ever seen their faces or known their identities.
They were mysterious, and only a few people knew their real nas, but even those people had no idea how they looked.
In the whole world, no one knew what they were planning or what their goals were.
Why?
That was also shrouded in mystery.
Yet, there was a person, a guy who knew every little thing about them and had a clear picture of their plans.
And currently, the sa person was walking toward their office.
Chi~!
Suddenly, the mobile phone that was placed on the table rang, and a mont later its screen lit up and a notification was displayed.
The woman, Issac’s assistant, walked toward the table, and taking the phone in her hand she swiped the screen to unlock the device.
Her eyes scanned the words and a small smile materialized on her mouth before she turned to look at the man who was still working.
"Mr. Issac, do you plan to clean the spider’s web from the wall too?"
The woman asked, and the man paused his movents, before answering, "Yeah, why?"
"Nothing, I was just wondering if you will have the sa heart when the person arrives." She replied, and the man, after a few seconds of silence, "I-is it him?" he asked and the woman nodded her head, causing the man to let out a "Shit!" in irritation.
"How did he find out about this place now?" Saying that, Issac jumped off the chair, and with the plier and a small piece of wire still in his hand, he rushed toward the desk and placed the things there, before snatching the phone from the woman’s hand.
"Hey old man, I am coming to your office. You don’t have to tell where it is located because I already know." It was the ssage he had received, and Issac, who had read it, couldn’t help but shout, "Fuck!"
The woman, on the other hand, couldn’t help but giggle, as the man’s reaction was very funny, and it was always hilarious to see him get irritated.
"Hey, what are you laughing about? Don’t you know that this guy is just straight trouble? If he cos here, it will only be a matter of ti before he takes another artifact and disappears again."
The old man spoke, but the woman just kept laughing, and seeing her laughing at him, the old man’s eyebrows twitched a bit.
"Hahaha, don’t worry, Mr. Issac. I am sure it is not going to happen. And, you know, I think the reason he wants to et you is that he wants to thank you."
With those words, the woman also placed everything she was holding on the desk, and Issac, hearing her words, couldn’t help but sigh.
"I hope so. Because the thing he forcibly took from us last night was one of its kind. One could even use it to change their appearance and it also gives the user the power of electricity manipulation. It was an aweso artifact."
He complained, but his assistant didn’t reply, instead, a grin blood on her face as she stared at her boss.
"What? Is there sothing on my face?" Issac asked and rather than getting a response, the woman’s giggles reached his ears.
"Hahaha, no. There is no, but I think your beard has so cobweb stuck in it, making you look funny."
The woman replied, and the man’s expression changed as he hurriedly tried to clean his beard and mustache.
"Really? Oh god, it is not coming out."
Seeing him struggle, the woman just laughed, but when the door suddenly opened and a black-haired man entered, the laughter was imdiately stopped and replaced by an awkward smile.
But Issac, who was busy cleaning his beard, didn’t realize the change in the room, and his assistant, who had seen the new visitor, just looked at him, and rather than feeling awkward, a genuine smile appeared on her face again.
"Welco, Mr. Nellas." The woman greeted the new guy with a slight bow, and Issac, hearing the na he didn’t want to hear, finally stopped his movents and turned around to look at the newcor, and a frown quickly appeared on his face.
"Tsk! What do you want this ti? Another artifact? Sothing that can make you fly in the air or your body invisible? Huh?" He questioned Nell who was using an artifact to change his appearance and was now Ryan.
The latter didn’t feel angry after being spoken to in that way, instead, his expression just remained neutral.
"Hmm, great idea. But, I don’t need any of those. However, I still would like to thank you for your generosity. I an, the thing you gave was very useful, and I will keep using it in the future too."
A smug expression appeared on Ryan’s face as he replied, and Issac’s eyebrows twitched when he heard his words, while his assistant couldn’t help but cover her mouth as she suppressed her giggles.
"Whatever, I have your thanks. You can go away now. I am busy fixing the wires, so if you excuse I will continue my work."
The old man let out in irritation, and not caring about the two people anymore, he walked to the board and was going to climb up the chair, but Ryan’s voice reached his ears which made him stop.
"Do you mind if I help you out a bit? It’s the least I can do to pay you back."
With a grin on his face, Ryan walked toward the desk, while Issac looked at him with an irritated expression as he was wondering why he was still here.
"Yeah, go ahead, if you can. I hope you get electrocuted." He said, and Ryan’s smile just widened before he answered, "Thank you, old man, for the warning. However, if I don’t get electrocuted then you have to give one more thing and I promise it won’t be another artifact."
Issac just frowned and without saying anything, he just nodded his head.
At that ti he didn’t think much, but if he knew what was going to happen next, he wouldn’t have accepted his request.
Because, what Ryan was going to ask for, would definitely make him feel regretful for accepting it.
