Chapter 30: Berserker's Rage

In a swift effortless slash, the zombie nad Cedric lost its head and Cristian crushed it with a hard stomp.

He leaned forward and made an arc, slicing through the lower abdon of two runners, from which black blood spurted from their opened skin.

The runners were known to bolt toward their prey and pounce on them; they did not know how to halt in situations that required them to.

With small but graceful movents, he avoided their claws and bites and mowed down their numbers.

Runners kept coming and fell to their demise. "Gar!" Cristian quickly turned and slashed upwards yet the zombie dog with half eaten face evaded his slash and lunged with the aim of ripping his shin apart.

"Heh," he scoffed and sent it flying with a resounding kick. He heard its jaws crack, and he felt no pain due to the in-laid tal.

"Nice!" his lips curled up, he leaned back, tightened his muscles, and threw Burning Fury forward.

Loud whooshing sounds accompanied the whirling blade as it sped toward the incoming runners. Their speed beca their weakness as the sharp, gleaming edge slashed through the soft bones of these low-level zombies.

Bam!

A loud sound echoed as Cristian stomped the hard road, creating a dent, and darted towards his weapon.

It had slaughtered more than a dozen runners, decimating the remaining runners from the horde before him.

The Runners from the horde behind him were still far away and he couldn't deal with both hordes, as his death could be because of lack of stamina.

Lia shook her head as she watched the battle. Her Lord's stunning progress did not surprise her, for he was blessed with an instinct for battle.

Unlike others who need a calm environnt to make steady progress by filtering their mistakes and grasping hidden details in their affinity, her Lord just needs a battle to satisfy his requirents.

This was the main reason she fully accepted Cristian's decision, as his progress would skyrocket due to the deep infestation of zombies and mutated animals.

However, she could see just as he beca better, it beca obvious the sword wasn't the weapon for a Berserker like him.

Coiling his hands around the hilt of the blade that pierced deep into the ground, Cristian pulled it out with a grunt and dived into the sea of flesh-eating monsters.

He kept hacking and slashing without a break as he sought to reach the other side. Claws and teeth ca from all sides, yet he kept them away from touching his skin.

Cristian had already grown ntally, which was why he wasn't bothered slashing through zombies which were previously human.

It was kill or be killed. Be powerful or weak.

It was a matter of choice and like everyone he wanted the best for himself, Earth was too boring for his taste.

The warring era has passed, but it has never left his blood. And now he knew it was because he had lived here before.

"Ugh!" deep lines ford on his forehead and he groaned deeply. Lowering his head, his erald eyes gazed at the clawed fingers that pierced his abdon.

Not a second later, it turned to dust, but the wound stayed and the pain made him exhale loudly.

"Calm down~" Lia's voice was like a beautiful lody one could listen to for eternity, but his temperature continued to spike.

"Lord Athelstone!" her voice echoed in his mind, but he kept slashing, slowly losing himself.

His moves beca more brutal as he swung Burning Fury with one hand and launched blows that exploded the heads of zombies with the other.

His entire body beca a weapon. His toned legs whipped out deadly kicks that whistled through the air, sending zombies flying back.

"Vladimir Ithuriel Athelstone!" Lia quickly did sothing she thought she would never do, and it was calling her lord by his origin na.

But if it could stop him from entering the berserker's rage, then she would do it again and again. While that state could enhance Cristian's powers to an enviable state, it needed a minimum of 20 vitality or the Berserker would end up killing himself due to the violent blood rush.

Their entire system would move at an insane rate, heartbeat as fast as that of an Etruscan shrew, pulsing blood-red eyes that could grasp the details of a flying bug, and a blood domain that consus a minimum of 200 mana in ten minutes and it varied according to affinities.

Cristian's affinity would consu a lot more, so at his level, it was basically self-destruction.

Along with her words, Cristian froze like a statue. But no zombie ca close, as he had slaughtered 85 percent in his semi-rage.

Covered in blood from head to toe, he slled like a garbage yard. "W… what happened?" he regained his sanity and queried while looking at the carnage with mild shock.

He wasn't stunned because a part of him, though not the sane part, massacred these zombies.

"You almost died." Cristian felt baffled as he could hear Lia's quiet sobs as she replied. "I… I…" He felt confused, but for Lia to break down like this, he must have done sothing without knowing.

The cacophony of goals and moans from the other horde drew closer, and he realized all their runners had t their demise at the sharp edge of his sword.

'Lia, I'm sorry, but you need to tell what I did wrong,' he said inwardly, wore his gloves and barged into a building.

He heard a gasp but ignored it and added an extra layer of defense to the door. And it was a couch. "C… Cristian."

A familiar voice made him turn and Anna stood a dozen steps away, frozen in shock as she scanned his bloodied look.

"It's , Anna." The mont he responded, the golden-haired beauty jumped into his embrace. He could feel her thumping heart, for his abrupt entrance must have scared her.

"Have you seen my sister?" she queried, and Cristian could only shake his head with a wry smile.

'This is interesting,' Lia's mood changed as she scanned the innocent beauty with a predatory gaze. Her Lord lived in solitude in his last life, so she would make sure he relishes this one.
