The key to translating the Warring States silk book was to take apart the characters. You split a character and made it beco a matrix, and then all the details ford a huge matrix. That matrix was also divided into dinsions, so we needed to find the appropriate points. These symbols indicated the anings of the lines after they were connected. This set of symbology was very complicated, but it could be restored in a short amount of ti thanks to modern computers.

Later, this thod was widely used in "Yanshi Lei" designs, but I don't know if it was also inspired by the Warring States silk book.

(TN Note: basically showing how the decoded book fits the terrain on google earth)
