"The Mu family?"
Qiu Ruoxue’s beautiful eyes imdiately contracted the instant she heard Zhu Fei speak.
She could never have imagined that at this mont, she would hear such shocking news from Zhu Fei’s mouth.
It was well known that within the Mu family, Mu Xiong was the Deputy Chief of their police force.
If everything Zhu Fei was saying now was true, Qiu Ruoxue could almost be certain that the two brothers of the Mu family must have so connection to the Murderer and his Disciple.
And this would precisely explain why the police force, no matter how much they searched, could never pinpoint the specific whereabouts of that Murderer.
Just think, even if the police force had exhausted all their resources to capture the Murderer, it would have been impossible for them to aim their suspicions at their own Deputy Chief, wouldn’t it? It was simply unthinkable—ordinary officers wouldn’t have the nerve.
With this thought, Qiu Ruoxue’s beautiful brows imdiately furrowed deeply.
She looked at Zhu Fei and said sternly, "Zhu Fei, based on your judgnt, how likely do you think this is?"
"Hmm, if you’re asking , I think there’s about a ninety percent chance," Zhu Fei replied.
Qiu Ruoxue was taken aback by his response. She hadn’t expected Zhu Fei to be so confident about this information.
But before she could ask another question, Zhu Fei had already continued, "Because I heard that the Murderer’s master has now taken Mu Cheng as his Disciple, so..."
As he said this, a fierce light suddenly flitted across Zhu Fei’s eyes.
He went on, "No matter what, we must not leave the Murderer’s master alive. So regardless of whether what the Murderer said before was true or not, I must make a trip to the Mu family soon!"
After hearing Zhu Fei’s words, Qiu Ruoxue once again fell into deep thought.
This ti, however, Qiu Ruoxue didn’t ponder for long, and a cold glint imdiately crossed her eyes. She nodded at Zhu Fei and said:
"Alright, I’ll accompany you on this trip. Later, I’ll have my subordinates inform our Chief about this matter and carefully investigate the Mu family. If the investigation turns out to be as you’ve said..."
As she spoke, a hint of Evil Qi flashed across Qiu Ruoxue’s typically cold face.
"I will absolutely not let them off!"
Seeing this, Zhu Fei finally smiled.
In fact, the reason he shared the news with Qiu Ruoxue in the first place was to hope that she would have people investigate the Mu family.
If the investigation turned out to be true, the downfall of the Mu family would be easy to imagine.
Now that both parties were sworn enemies, Zhu Fei certainly had no intention of letting them off.
The principle of ’a viper not killed brings harm’ was sothing Zhu Fei understood centuries ago.
Moreover, now that Mu Cheng had even beco a Disciple of the Blood Evil Sect, Zhu Fei had all the more reason not to let them go.
So in the next mont, as soon as Qiu Ruoxue finished dealing with the matter at hand, the two of them headed straight for the Mu family.
...
About half an hour later, when several police cars stopped outside the Mu family’s villa, the officers just happened to see Mu Jie leading a group of people out of the villa.
And Mu Cheng was in that crowd!
Suddenly seeing police cars appear outside their family villa, Mu Jie and the others were first stupefied, then Mu Jie took the initiative to step forward promptly, smiling and greeting Qiu Ruoxue from across the way:
"Heh, I was wondering who it was. If it isn’t Captain Qiu. What brings you here, Captain Qiu...?"
Having said this, Mu Jie didn’t continue but instead showed an inquisitive expression.
He had already seen that the ones led by Qiu Ruoxue this ti were likely harboring ill intentions. As a faint feeling of alarm gripped his heart, he quickly made a secret signal to one of the hulking n beside him.
This henchman understood imdiately and tried to take Mu Cheng and an elderly man beside him to leave.
However, before they could move, Qiu Ruoxue raised her hand and ordered, "First, subdue all of them!"
Saying this, Qiu Ruoxue approached Mu Jie, noticing his suddenly changing complexion, and coolly smiled as she said,
"Mr. Mu, sorry to bother you but I just received a tip-off that the Mu family might be connected to a major case. Mr. Mu, if it’s convenient for you, I’d appreciate your cooperation with the police."
"A major case? Related to the Mu family?"
Upon hearing Qiu Ruoxue’s words, Mu Jie imdiately showed a mixture of bewildernt and anger on his face.
"Captain Qiu, surely there must be so mistake? I, Mu Jie, don’t pretend to be a saint, but to imply that I’m involved in a major case is utterly nonsensical."
As he spoke, Mu Jie’s eyes began to narrow, and his expression turned from calm to sharply fierce.
"I’ll tell you sothing unpleasant. With my brother’s status in the police force, do you really think I, Mu Jie, would risk getting involved with questionable activities? Captain Qiu, you’d better go back and investigate further before you wrongfully accuse soone innocent and make things difficult for yourself."
After he finished speaking, Mu Jie ignored Qiu Ruoxue and the rest of the police, attempting to leave with his people.
"Stop!"
But before Mu Jie and his people had gone far, he was sharply interrupted by Qiu Ruoxue’s command.
As Qiu Ruoxue issued her command, the surrounding police officers suddenly drew their guns and aid them directly at Mu Jie and his group!
"Qiu Ruoxue! You...!"
Suddenly seeing the police’s aggressive stance, Mu Jie’s face turned ashen.
He glared coldly at Qiu Ruoxue and said word by word, "Qiu Ruoxue, do you realize the consequences of what you’re doing? I suppose even with your extraordinary background, you will have a hard ti explaining this indiscriminate use of weapons to your superiors?"
Confronted with Mu Jie’s threat, Qiu Ruoxue appeared utterly unmoved. She replied with an equally icy tone,
"How I explain this to my superiors is my own business and none of yours. Besides..."
As she spoke, Qiu Ruoxue’s gaze suddenly shifted towards Mu Cheng behind Mu Jie, her eyes revealing a hint of deadly seriousness.
"Besides, I have information that among your people there’s an extrely dangerous individual. If I didn’t take certain asures, I’m afraid there’s no easy way to deal with him."
"Mu Cheng, wouldn’t you agree?"
Suddenly addressed by Qiu Ruoxue, Mu Cheng was taken aback for a mont, then fear inadvertently flickered through his eyes.
He wasn’t as composed as his father, and with guilt in his heart, he beca visibly nervous at Qiu Ruoxue’s sudden questioning.
He instinctively took a few steps back, stamring denials, "I... I don’t know, I have no idea what you’re talking about."
Seeing Mu Cheng react this way, Mu Jie sighed internally.
anwhile, Qiu Ruoxue’s eyes narrowed gradually.
"Kekeke, Mu Jie, it seems this girl has discovered sothing. Why bother talking nonsense with them? It would be simpler to just kill them all."
At that mont, the elder who had been standing beside Mu Cheng in the crowd suddenly let out a sinister chuckle.
Previously hunched over, he now exuded a terrifying aura!
His eyes fiercely fixed on Qiu Ruoxue, he uttered in a chilling tone, "If I’m not mistaken, my disciple’s death must have sothing to do with you, young lady."
"Perfect timing, I need fresh blood from a young woman for my healing. Since you’ve delivered yourself to my doorstep, I’ll not be polite!"
