The female disciple was imdiately frightened out of her wits.
She stared at the massive eave plumting towards her, her pretty face ashen and her eyes filled with an expression of bleak despair.
It must be known that she had recently survived a great battle; not only was she still nursing her wounds, but there was not a trace of Power left within her.
Confronted by the suddenly falling eave, she had no choice but to watch death approach, as there was no second option available to her.
"Swoosh——"
However, just at this mont, a whistling sound pierced through the air.
A streak of purple light struck the enormous eave, sending it flying away!
In the next instant, a graceful silhouette in a black gown appeared right before the female disciple.
Her appearance was otherworldly, her figure outlined in perfect curves, and she seed as though she had stepped out of a painting, radiant with peerless beauty.
Her re presence brightened the otherwise dreary surroundings, lending a poignant beauty to the place.
"Paying respects to the young lady, I thank you for the lifesaving grace you have just shown Caidie!"
The self-proclaid Caidie, upon seeing the person who had appeared before her, imdiately showed a respectful and excited expression on her face.
"Hehe, think nothing of it; you need not address as ’young lady’ anymore. If possible, you should hurry and leave with your fellow disciples. This place is no longer suitable for you to stay."
Gu Youlan smiled slightly at Caidie.
But this ti, her smile was no longer as natural and easy-going as before; it was filled with reluctance and helplessness, which caused Caidie, who was before her, to feel a slight pang in her heart.
Thereupon, Caidie bit her lip and bowed resolutely to Gu Youlan, saying in a firm tone:
"We will not leave. Treasure Pavilion will always be our ho, and you will always be our young lady. This is true for both and the other disciples who have chosen to stay. I believe they all feel the sa. So please, never say such things again, young lady."
"Hehe, it seems I have been overly sentintal. Very well, I will no longer speak such words."
Gu Youlan looked at Caidie and then at the figures busily moving in the distance. A touch of warmth flickered in her beautiful eyes.
She stretched out her hand and lightly touched her waist, and then several Jade Bottles appeared in the palm of her hand.
"You’re called Caidie, correct? Here are so high-quality Healing Pills that I just finished making not long ago. Take them and share them with everyone."
With that, Gu Youlan, without further ado, handed the Jade Bottles over to Caidie.
"Young lady, this is unnecessary, we..."
"Hehe, just take them, alright?"
Before Caidie could finish her sentence, Gu Youlan interrupted her with a smile.
In the next mont, without waiting for Caidie’s response, she turned and walked away.
Watching Gu Youlan’s retreating figure, Caidie held the Healing Pills in her hands, her heart full of nothing but gratitude.
She was acutely aware that they were currently trapped within the Little Cave Heaven, with resources severely depleted and their consumption exceptionally heavy.
And yet, under such circumstances, Gu Youlan was still willing to give these ordinary disciples Healing Pills, which truly underscored the difficulty of such a gesture.
What was more significant was that Caidie had long heard that this sort of act by Gu Youlan, like the one she had just witnessed, was far from the first.
...
"You Lan, why are you engaging in alchemy again?"
Gu Youlan walked on the way back to her own residence when a figure suddenly appeared.
She stared at Gu Youlan’s abdon, noticing how her black dress was gradually being stained red with fresh blood again, and her beautiful eyebrows imdiately furrowed deeply.
"How many tis have I told you to rest in your own ho and not worry about what’s happening here? Why won’t you listen?"
The figure seed sowhat angry, and the tone of her speech carried a hint of reproach.
"Heh, Auntie, I’m well aware of my own body, so rest assured. I’ll take care of myself, okay?"
Gu Youlan smiled lightly, but just as she wanted to say more, her face suddenly turned a shade paler, and she could not help but let out a soft grunt of pain.
Seeing this, the figure’s expression changed drastically!
She imdiately stopped her rebukes and rushed forward in a single step, supporting Gu Youlan’s delicate body with urgency in her voice:
"You Lan, how are you feeling? Don’t scare your Auntie. Co on! I must quickly take you to your Second Uncle; let him take a proper look."
As she spoke, the figure proceeded to pick up Gu Youlan to take her to the aforentioned Second Uncle.
However, before she could act, Gu Youlan smiled and waved her hand, saying:
"Auntie, there’s no need. Like I said before, I understand my own body best. Even if I go to see my Second Uncle now, he would be helpless about my injuries."
"Moreover, my Second Uncle is currently treating my father’s wounds. If I were to go there, it would only cause them more trouble, and it would be pointless. So please, don’t worry about for the mont. It would be better if you check on the others first, okay?"
Hearing Gu Youlan’s words, the figure gradually cald down from her initial anxiety.
She knew Gu Youlan was right.
The injury that Gu Youlan had sustained was not sothing they could treat.
Furthermore, at the mont, the Treasure Pavilion, or more precisely, the Gu family was facing a great disaster, and as the Pavilion’s Deputy Master, there were many follow-up matters that she needed to handle.
There were things that she, Gu Yanran, could not afford to delay. If mishandled, internal strife within the Treasure Pavilion might erupt.
In such an event, even if Gu Youlan wanted to seek treatnt for herself, there would no longer be any chance.
Thinking this, Gu Yanran bit her lip hard and finally addressed Gu Youlan,
"You Lan, I’ve heard you knew an alchemist nad Zhu Fei before. Do you think you could contact him now? Could you ask him to help our Gu family?"
As the Deputy Master of the Treasure Pavilion and a Martial Artist of Great Perfection in Gang Force, Gu Yanran would never usually resort to asking for such favors.
But the situation was different now; the Treasure Pavilion, in essence, was almost non-existent, at the end of its rope.
No matter how proud and noble Gu Yanran was in the past, those days were gone. She knew that it was ti to let go, and that she must.
Upon hearing Gu Yanran’s query, the image of Zhu Fei involuntarily surfaced in Gu Youlan’s mind.
However, she quickly erased that image and said with a helpless smile to Gu Yanran:
"Auntie, you are also aware of the difficulties our Gu family is facing. Do you think it’s appropriate to invite him over right now?"
Pausing briefly, Gu Youlan continued, "Not to ntion whether we can actually reach him now, even if we do manage to, it remains a question whether he would accept our invitation."
"Moreover, even if he agrees to co, what effect could he possibly have on our Gu family’s current situation?"
