Chapter 227: Chapter 227 : The Dispute Between Two Families (2)

This question was uncalled for. Xie Jianyu’s face darkened instantly.

Shi Qingyue burst into laughter.

"Your Majesty, don’t be so shy. We are friends. I have heard that you ran back to Fuxi Palace while both of you were still on your marriage leave. Could it be that Zhang Fengxi was especially forceful?"

They were indeed friends, but Xie Jianyu was reluctant to share anything about that aspect of his life.

The Crown Prince thus chose to ignore the question.

"I ca here to ask you about Wen Xiangxiang."

Just as Xie Jianyu tried his best to switch the topic, Shi Qingyue tried her best to stick with the original topic.

To her delight, her attempts were rewarded with Xie Jianyu’s attention.

"I happened to run into Zhang Fengxi today in town. He looked like he was searching for sothing."

Oh?

Xie Jianyu raised an eyebrow.

"And..." Shi Qingyue leaned closer and spoke in a low voice, "He was not alone. He was in accompanint of a young oga... an enchanting maiden with flower-like face and moon-like appearance*, so to say."

"..."

So Zhang Fengxi, this lecherous alpha, got bored of persuading his wife, so he went to chase others instead?

How interesting.

Xie Jianyu tightened his fingers into fists. He sucked in a deep breath, in an attempt to suppress his rage.

"And where, exactly, did you see them together?"

Shi Qingyue batted her eyelashes at the Crown Prince in an adorable manner.

"I saw them heading to a remote tea house in the town. According to the circulating rumors, that tea house is known to be rather tolerant to so... questionable practices."

Prostitution was a grey area in Ling’an Palace. It was not exactly encouraged, but the fox clan also did nothing to prohibit the practice.

How despicable.

It looked like Xie Jianyu had to go down there to clean the destitute locale himself.

Eyes shining with determination, Xie Jianyu then said, "Lead

to that unfaithful husband."

anwhile, in the bustling capital town of the fox clan’s vast territory, a beauty was munching on a freshly baked pancake with relish inside a private chamber. In her other hand, she held a painting brush that moved up and down the painting scroll deftly.

Her delicate hands were slowly transforming the piece of white paper into a masterpiece with elegant, precise strokes.

From ti to ti, she stopped and pondered about what to draw next.

"Big Brother Fengxi..."

The young girl blinked at Zhang Fengxi innocently while taking a small bite of her snack. "What if Father gets mad at

for running away?"

Zhang Fengxi smiled at Wen Xiangxiang.

"Your father will not be angry if you tell him honestly what you do out here."

Deep in thought, Wen Xiangxiang stared at her half-finished painting.

"I don’t know... I am not that close to Father."

Zhang Fengxi smiled.

"Xiangxiang, your father only wants the best for you. Unfortunately, so fathers don’t know what’s best for their children."

An alpha did not necessarily love dabbing in cultivation, and an oga did not necessarily like to give birth.

It’s just that the world was not yet ready to see the truth with its eyes.

"I don’t like it when Father is angry at ," Wen Xiangxiang said with a hint of resignation. "Brother Fengxi... what can I do so he is willing to listen to ?"

Before Zhang Fengxi could think of an answer, a ruckus was heard coming from outside. The tea house attendants were screaming in panic while the sound of iron military boots hit the wooden floor continuously.

It sounded as if a bunch of guards had just entered the building.

Wen Xiangxiang set her pancake aside in terror.

"Brother Fengxi, what is happening???"

Zhang Fengxi grabbed his Three Realm Spear and rose to his feet. He narrowed his eyes at the door, waiting for soone to appear.

A lot of shadows hushed past the door, and then so stopped as soon as they arrived.

The door to the private chamber was pushed open rudely, and the Crown Prince stood at the doorway. His eyes were burning with rage, enough to make Wen Xiangxiang shake in fear.

"Very good, Zhang Fengxi," he snarled. "This is where I find you, in a brothel with a girl a lot younger than you, on the eighth day of our marriage!"

Zhang Fengxi was stunned to see his wife at the door, but his astonishnt was soon replaced by joy.

"Jianbao, you are here."

Zhang Fengxi approached Xie Jianyu. He wanted to put his arms around his wife, but the oga was not in the mood to cuddle.

Instead, the Crown Prince unsheathed Winter Frost and pressed it against Zhang Fengxi’s neck with one swift movent.

"Give

a good reason not to beat you up this very mont," Xie Jianyu hissed.

The good reason ca in an unexpected way.

So chambers away from them, a loud shrieking voice was heard. And then, a bunch of guards hurried over to report to Xie Jianyu.

"The... Your Majesty, we found two n in the middle of carrying out debauched activities in one of the rooms."

"Very good," Xie Jianyu snarled. "This is the proof that this tea house is dealing with prostitution illegally."

Zhang Fengxi’s jaw dropped open.

"What prostitution?"

The captain of the guard team cleared his throat and continued his report in an embarrassed voice.

"Ahem. Your Majesty, it is not a prostitution case."

Xie Jianyu glared at the captain.

"What else if it is not prostitution? What renowned, esteed tea house would allow such decadence to take place within its four walls?"

The two n in question were dragged into the chamber and pushed to kneel in front of Xie Jianyu.

Half-clothed in their torn inner robes, they tried their best to look presentable. Alas, not much could be done to preserve their dignity. The two n thus gathered all their courage and looked up at Xie Jianyu with terror in their eyes.

Xie Jianyu’s eyes turned round when he recognized the two n in front of him.

"Sun Mingqi and Duan Ruiyang?"
