Emiya Shirou's Falna had already reached Level 8.

And now, he was on the verge of leveling up again.

The speed was abnormal.

The reason was simple-the Hero's Destiny.

In a state where growth never paused, Emiya Shirou's basic paraters reached their limit in just two days.

If not for the difficulty of finding an opponent worthy of a Great Feat, he would have reached Level 9 long ago.

In truth, even though he had not yet killed his chosen target-Gorgon-the high-grade experience required for leveling was already nearly full.

He could feel it.

Clearly.

According to the rules of the World of the Labyrinth, experience gained through ordinary combat was standard experience, used only to raise the body's base paraters.

But high-grade experience was different.

That kind of experience-obtained by fighting opponents of a higher level-was stored specifically for leveling up.

Of course, to accumulate high-grade experience, at least one attribute had to reach Rank D.

In Emiya Shirou's past battles, his accumulation had already approached completion.

After defeating lqart and becoming a Godslayer, he reached Level 8.

However, defeating Verethragna afterward granted him no high-grade experience.

The reason was simple.

At that ti, he had just leveled up, and none of his attributes had yet reached Rank D.

That changed during the battle with Hephaestus.

His fastest-growing attribute-Magic-finally reached Rank D, granting him eligibility.

Perhaps because Falna itself was a blessing bestowed by a god, defeating beings tied to divinity caused Emiya Shirou's high-grade experience to grow at an astonishing rate.

Hephaestus's death alone provided nearly two-thirds of the required amount.

Combined with the high-grade experience gained from his previous encounter with Gorgon-

At this mont, Emiya Shirou was only one step away.

Once he killed Gorgon, the level-up was inevitable.

He would step into Level 9.

With that transformation, Emiya Shirou would cross the line.

From Hero Candidate-

To a true Hero.

And his intuition told him sothing else.

This level-up would take ti.

A lot of ti.

"So that's what it was!"

"You should've just said it from the start!"

"Being all secretive like that, I thought you were planning to perish together with Gorgon!"

"Exactly. Please speak more plainly next ti, Senior Shirou."

Faced with the worried expressions of Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash, the corner of Emiya Shirou's mouth lifted slightly.

"I understand."

"I'll explain properly next ti."

He smiled as he patted their shoulders.

His eyes were gentle.

"So please don't worry about my safety."

"Use everything you have to save this era."

"Yes, Senior Shirou!"

Fujimaru Ritsuka and Mash answered together.

...

The next morning.

Before sunrise.

Emiya Shirou was already fully equipped.

He stepped quietly out of the Chaldea Embassy and onto the street, where citizens were just beginning to set up their stalls.

He stopped.

And looked back.

"The next ti I return..."

"This Chaldea Embassy will probably be gone without a trace."

He knew it.

By the ti his transformation finished, Tiamat would have already begun her advance.

At that point, there was no possibility of the embassy surviving.

Shaking his head, Emiya Shirou turned toward the city gates.

He didn't say goodbye.

Not to Fujimaru Ritsuka.

Not to Mash.

This wasn't a farewell.

Nor was it a journey they wouldn't reunite from.

There was no need for ritual.

If he said goodbye now, it would only create unnecessary sadness.

He walked quietly through Uruk.

The streets were alive.

Prosperous.

Warm.

That atmosphere filled his chest with a quiet satisfaction.

"I will protect this prosperity."

Standing at the city gate, Emiya Shirou turned back once more.

With the aid of Clairvoyance, he saw the ziggurat.

And on its terrace-

Gilgash was watching him.

"He figured it out?"

Emiya Shirou raised his hand and waved.

Far away, Gilgash froze for a brief mont.

Then, wearing a look of feigned irritation, he waved back sharply.

Get going.

Emiya Shirou smiled.

And turned away.

On the terrace, Gilgash watched his retreating figure.

His gaze sharpened.

"The final battle is about to begin."

...

Passing through the dense cedar forest, Emiya Shirou moved at high speed.

Before long, he arrived outside the Blood Temple.

Under Presence Concealnt, not a single demonic beast noticed him along the way.

"Now, all that's left..."

"...is to wait."

"To wait for the battle at the Northern Wall to begin."

"To wait for Kingu to appear."

As the bearer of the Holy Grail, Kingu's presence would determine whether Emiya Shirou could end Gorgon swiftly.

Under normal circumstances, Emiya Shirou had no intention of fighting two enemies at once.

That would drag the battle out.

And uncertainty was the last thing he wanted.

At the Northern Wall-

Quetzalcoatl.

Ishtar.

rlin.

All three were waiting for Kingu.

Quetzalcoatl's role was to confront him head-on.

rlin and Ishtar would prevent his retreat back to the Blood Temple.

That was the guarantee for Emiya Shirou's operation.

"He's here! He's here!"

On the Northern Wall, rlin shouted while hiding behind the battlents with Ishtar, staring at the surging magical energy in the sky.

Quetzalcoatl kicked away a nearby demonic beast and shouted eagerly.

"Kingu!"

Her voice echoed.

The next mont, Kingu descended from the sky.

He crashed straight toward her.

Boom.

Their collision erased everything nearby.

"Hey, rlin!"

"Since Kingu's here, hurry up and notify Shirou!"

"Got it, got it."

rlin smiled.

He activated the long-distance telepathy he had specifically prepared with Emiya Shirou.

"Hello, hello."

"Shirou, Kingu has arrived."

"You can begin."

"Understood."

...

"Understood."

After responding, Emiya Shirou rose from the tree branch and landed on the ground.

He looked at the barrier covering the Blood Temple.

Everything was already planned.

With a wave of his hand, a strangely shaped dagger appeared in his grip.

"First."

"Rule Breaker."

He threw it casually.

The dagger flew like a projectile, piercing straight toward the barrier.

Pop.

The barrier shattered.

"Next..."

"The temple itself."

Looking at the massive structure before him, Emiya Shirou's lips curved upward.

"Thou hast violated the covenant and brought sin unto the world."

"The Lord saith-the sinner shall be punished."

"To crush their spine."

"To dig out their bones, hair, and brains."

"To trample their blood into the mud."

"If I am he whom sharp fangs cannot approach..."

"Then I shall follow the word of the Lord."

"And grant the Hamr of Destruction to the covenant-breaker."

With the chant of Kotodama-

The earth split.

A massive boar burst forth from the ground.

The incarnation Emiya Shirou invoked-

Was one of the Ten.

The Boar.
