"Excellent."

Dwarf King Gazel nodded, clearly satisfied.

Rimuru's agreent had co without hesitation, and that alone was enough to put him at ease. More importantly, the man standing behind Rimuru-Shirou Emiya-was far too dangerous to ignore. Even if the Monster Federation had possessed no trade value at all, forming an alliance with soone like that would still be a wise decision.

And yet, this federation did have trade potential.

"Then," Gazel continued, "what is your country's na?"

"Country na?"

Rimuru froze.

Once again, she was faced with a problem she disliked the most.

Her gaze instinctively shifted toward Shirou Emiya.

He imdiately raised a hand. "Don't look at . As the leader of the Jura Forest Great Alliance, you should think of it yourself."

When it ca to naming things, he was utterly unreliable.

"But... do we really count as a country?" Rimuru hesitated. "It's still just an alliance. If I suddenly declare myself king, soone might feel uncomfortable."

"How could that be, Lord Rimuru!"

Shion's voice rang out loudly, full of enthusiasm and sothing far more dangerous.

"No one would bla you for that. Such a person doesn't exist! And even if they did-"

Her smile sharpened.

"We'd make sure they no longer exist."

"After all," she continued proudly, "you are our common lord!"

"That's right," Shirou Emiya added casually, patting Rimuru hard on the back. "Assert your dominance. Don't be timid about this sort of thing."

"I- I get it!"

Rubbing her back, Rimuru took a breath.

"In that case... let's call it the Emiya-Tempest Federation Nation."

"For short," she added quickly, "the Monster Federation!"

"Emiya-Tempest Federation Nation..."

Benimaru and the others repeated the na under their breath.

Smiles spread across their faces.

"In that case," Dwarf King Gazel said, extending his right hand, "here's to a pleasant cooperation."

Rimuru reached out and grasped it firmly.

"Pleasure working with you."

After the agreent was signed, Dwarf King Gazel did not linger.

He had brought with him a massive contingent of troops. A force of that scale was never ant for a long stay. With the formalities complete, he departed alongside his knight order, disappearing into the sky.

"I really didn't expect this," Rigurd said, staring at the retreating figures. "An alliance with the Dwarf Kingdom..."

Rimuru nodded, then suddenly turned her head toward Shirou Emiya.

"Shirou, don't you think your presence was really low today?"

"Of course," Shirou replied calmly. "I was deliberately suppressing it."

"Why!?"

Shirou laughed. "That dwarven uncle might have mind-reading abilities. eting soone like that for the first ti, it's only natural to be cautious."

"What!? He can read minds!?"

Rimuru nearly scread.

"Why didn't you tell earlier!"

"It's only a possibility. Why are you panicking so much?"

"That kind of thing is dangerous!"

"Then bla yourself for not being prepared."

With that, Shirou turned and started walking away.

"Benimaru. Souei. You two are my sparring partners today."

"Yes, Lord Emiya!"

The two followed imdiately.

At this point, there was no shortage of people who could serve as Shirou Emiya's training partners. Talented individuals were everywhere, more than enough to support his daily routines.

And because he was excellent at guidance, his nightly training sessions were extrely popular.

"...Damn it, he ran off."

Rimuru hurried after him.

The days that followed were peaceful.

As one of those responsible for military affairs, Shirou Emiya's routine rarely changed. He trained troops, visited Kaijin and Kurobe's workshop to study forging techniques, researched magic, and experinted with what he casually referred to as "mysterious abilities."

Daily training was never skipped.

His life was both relaxed and busy.

And because it was filled with things he enjoyed, there was no sense of irritation at all.

Everything else was handled by Rimuru.

"What a peaceful life," Shirou muttered, leaning against a tree and staring up at the sunlight filtering through the leaves.

"Co to think of it, Rimuru recently took in a bee-type monster. Sent it all over the place to collect honey from rare flowers."

He chuckled softly.

"But in the end, it'll definitely end up with ."

"After all, no one can compete with my cooking."

The self-praise ca naturally.

Then-

A powerful surge of magic suddenly rushed toward Emiya City.

Fast.

Direct.

Dangerous.

"So it's finally here."

Shirou vanished from his spot.

In an instant, he rushed toward the source of the magic. Almost as if responding to his movent, the approaching energy abruptly changed direction and shot straight toward him.

"Shirou!"

Rimuru arrived at his side at the sa mont.

"Be careful," she warned. "This one's no joke. I might not even be able to beat her."

"Yeah," Shirou replied quietly. "I can feel it."

The pressure alone was overwhelming.

The magic slamd into the ground before them, forming a deep crater. Dust and smoke rose, then slowly dispersed.

A figure erged.

Blue eyes filled with unrestrained will.

Cherry-gold hair tied into twin tails.

Her appearance was that of a fourteen- or fifteen-year-old girl, but demonoids could never be judged by appearances alone.

She made no effort to conceal herself.

Magicules poured off her body in terrifying density.

Her real age was clearly far beyond what she looked like.

She wore clothing made from an unfamiliar material, revealing far more skin than necessary.

An absolute beauty.

Before Shirou Emiya or Rimuru could even speak, the girl puffed out her nearly nonexistent chest and grinned arrogantly.

"Nice to et you!"

"I'm Demon Lord Milim Nava."

"I could tell you two were the strongest in this town, so I ca to say hello."

Her smile widened.

"I just didn't expect to find a Hero candidate mixed in with monsters. That's really surprising."

Her gaze shifted to Shirou Emiya.

"To be hanging around monsters..."

Her lips curved upward.

"You're an interesting Hero."
