The Sect Leader, alongside the Dragoness above, had remained silent from the very beginning. He had heard from his wife that all of this happened because of the changes in Darian, but even he couldn’t understand what had happened to his body.
Was it a new pill? After all, he was an Aquimist Emperor and could create strange and unique things.
Was it a new inheritance he found in the Mortal Plane?
Or... was he really a new legendary anomaly? His brother told him that it should be the case, but it was hard to believe.
The Sect Leader took a deep breath, his expression serious. If he really was sothing that incredible...
Throughout this universe’s history, all anomalies were terrifyingly powerful figures and, on the sa scale, arrogant. They were worshiped and feared in equal asure, and there was no shortage of stories about them killing furiously and destroying entire sects.
Because there was a very large gap between anomalies, and everyone feared the fury of these figures, the information about them was very fragnted and difficult to verify. The last one, however, being more recent, had a lot of information available.
It was exactly because of the information about that last anomaly that everyone was afraid... that Demoness was undoubtedly cruel and bloodthirsty. But Darian seed a bit malleable and could still be shaped.
These anomalies couldn’t be controlled after they ascended. Although it was a blessing to have discovered one, it could easily turn into a calamity. Therefore, the Sect Leader felt he had to take advantage while Darian was weak to teach him properly.
The environnt remained silent for several seconds.
Among everyone present, the ones whose hearts were beating the fastest were, without a doubt, Herion and Ruan.
When the Grand Supervisor of the Palaces saw Herion’s clear victory, he was filled with joy. But now, with such a change, his face suddenly darkened after the initial shock. Then, he regained his composure and said loudly:
"The Sect Leader’s estimated six-hour ti is over, so it’s ti to announce the results. Despite the changes at the end, everyone here must have seen exactly what happened. My disciple Herion ca out victorious."
"But this..." a Palace Master murmured strangely.
"But what?" Ruan snapped, then looked at Darian. "Didn’t you see that this kid just completed his breakthrough to the ninth level of the Celestial Tribulation Realm? He condensed his Celestial essence, which mixed with his aura. These Fire Elentals naturally prefer purer things. That’s why they all gathered around him. There’s nothing strange about that; it’s just that no one reached this level inside this place before. Fortunately, he didn’t ruin our grand event, since the final results had already been announced."
The Grand Supervisor of the Palaces’ words left everyone present stunned. Only after a long ti did many begin nodding, saying, "So that’s how it is, no wonder..."
In the Celestial Tribulation Realm, with each level, it was as if the cultivator created a seed of Celestial essence inside the body. At the peak, the ninth level, that seed beca mature enough. Then, to break into the next realm, he must fuse the seed into his body, mind, and soul.
It was exactly at that point that the heavens acted against the cultivator to bring him down. If successful and he survived reaching the next realm, the individual’s body, soul, and mind would reach a level a mortal would never achieve, even in other universes with cultivation.
However, what had happened to Darian was sothing they simply couldn’t understand. Just the creation of Celestial essence did that? Everyone had done that in the past, so they knew it wasn’t that pure and powerful.
As a result, Ruan’s argunt seed a bit forced. But... everyone, including the Supervisors and Palace Masters who were completely shocked and stunned, chose to cling to that justification that seed to ’explain what happened.’
"Seems pretty reasonable."
They nodded one after another in approval... because, beyond that, they couldn’t think of any other reason.
After all, believing that Darian could actually summon the Fire Elentals was madness.
When you can’t think of other possibilities, any possibility, no matter how forced, seems much more reasonable. And also, everyone wanted Herion to truly win this.
"It shouldn’t be that simple," murmured one of the sect’s oldest Palace Masters. But right after, he shook his head. "But that really is the only explanation."
After finding sothing that explained what had happened, everyone’s shock naturally faded.
At the Golden Celestial Lake, a smile appeared once again on Herion’s face. He glanced toward Lazaro, but he remained just as silent as before, showing no sign he would try to refute it.
Darian snorted and completely sealed the power of his new physique. After that, the Fire Elentals flying around him also began to disperse quickly.
"Ahem, ahem." Ruan coughed lightly and turned. He looked at Lazaro and, after sighing internally, announced: "Even though a small incident occurred at the end, that last Fire Elental was indeed attracted by Herion, and everyone here saw it with their own eyes. Therefore, the winner of this competition for a direct disciple of the Sect Leader is... Herion!"
When the Grand Supervisor of the Palaces’ voice fell silent, many disciples let out excited shouts. Those cheers of excitent also showed the high prestige Herion had among everyone in the sect.
"Hahahaha!" Ruan laughed from the heart as his face lit up. She extended her hand toward Herion, who was in the distance. "Herion, very good. You certainly didn’t disappoint . I’m proud of you. Co and pay your respects to the Sect Leader. Once the discipleship rites are completed, you will be his direct disciple!"
"Yes!" Herion replied excitedly. Then he flew upward, his crimson robes fluttering, and landed beside Ruan.
Chrysos shifted, wanting to say sothing, but in the end gave up.
It was at that mont that...
...an extrely untily voice rang out.
Amid the atmosphere that had beco enthusiastic, it was particularly sharp and piercing to the ears. Imdiately, the environnt seed to magically change.
"h... I have a few questions I want to discuss with the Grand Supervisor of the Palaces."
Ruan was initially radiant, but when Darian’s words reached his ears, it sohow completely ruined the mont, leaving her furious. He didn’t know the reason for such anger; it was instinctive, as if he already knew this was no longer in his hands.
"Who do you think you are? Since when do you have the right to speak? Get lost!"
Chrysos’s gaze changed, then locked onto Ruan coldly. "He is my disciple. What makes you think he can’t speak?"
Chrysos’s fixed stare made Ruan’s pupils suddenly contract. Even his imposing aura diminished considerably.
The next second, he sighed, calming down, then spoke with a light laugh.
"Indeed, I spoke rudely to the Palace Master. Anyway, Darian, what do you need guidance on?"
Darian’s expression was completely emotionless, even under the blade-sharp gaze of that figure.
"It’s very simple. I heard earlier that, to select his direct disciple, the Sect Leader decided it would be a Fire Elental battle. In six hours, whoever had the most Fire Elentals would be the winner. That being the case, the Sect Leader didn’t restrict the participants in any other way, right? Any disciple inside the Golden Celestial Lake could try, and cultivation also didn’t matter, correct?"
Ruan nodded. "That... yes, the Sect Leader did not set restrictions."
"Another question," Darian continued, his words calm and indifferent. "Before this disciple attracted all the Fire Elentals, the six-hour ti hadn’t ended yet, correct?"
Ruan’s expression changed when he finally realized what Darian wanted. Everyone present also realized it. His face darkened, and he sneered:
"Kid, what are you trying to say? Don’t tell you want to..."
"Another question," Darian spoke, not caring about anything. "When the six-hour limit arrived... this disciple had three thousand Fire Elentals at his side, while Herion had none. Anyone who wasn’t blind should have noticed that, right? But the result you announced was Herion’s victory... This disciple wishes to ask: how does that make sense!?"
Although they had already guessed what Darian would probably say, when he finally spoke, everyone was still stunned.
The expressions of everyone there changed; all kinds of emotions appeared. So sneered and laughed coldly, while others showed excited looks, as if they were watching a show.
But most had expressions as if they were looking at a fool.
In fact, everything Darian said was technically correct. When the ti ended, all the Fire Spirits were at his side. However, no one would accept that result, because no one could associate "Darian" with "direct disciple."
In anyone’s eyes, that had been a pure accident, even if internally they didn’t have a solid answer to explain everything.
Although Darian had so reputation within the sect after the recruitnt incident and had even beco an Alchemist Emperor, that wasn’t enough for them to accept this, especially because they wanted Herion to win.
However, they didn’t expect Darian to have the courage and audacity to bring it up... he even adopted a confrontational stance. Seeing Darian’s confrontational attitude, their first reaction was shock, and then they found it... funny, and even a little embarrassing.
Of course, the one who found it funniest was, without a doubt, the Grand Supervisor of the Palaces, Ruan.
"Hahahaha," he burst out laughing before continuing with a mocking expression: "In that case, should we declare you the winner and make you the Sect Leader’s direct disciple?"
"Shouldn’t it be that way?" Darian shot back. In that second, his eyes changed, and a cold glint flowed through them.
Since when did he accept being belittled like this? Fury ignited in his chest. He was within the rules, yet no one cared.
If they think they can toy with him like this... he will make them feel the consequences.
