"It was that song."

Xu Shu understood. He had heard the old priest, Yu Mingluan, leading the Believers in singing that song in the underground ruins.

Once he fell silent, everyone beca tense.

Cai Qijun said, "Brother, we have told you everything we know, the sayable and the unsayable! Lie Zhenzi is our witness, you must follow the rules."

"Don’t worry, I am soone who always follows the rules," Xu Shu replied without looking up as he picked up the arm of the man whose head had exploded and began to draw on the ground.

People didn’t understand why, but since Xu Shu had said so, they could only reluctantly believe him since they were no longer in a position to resist.

As Xu Shu drew faster and faster, occasionally stopping to think before continuing, he quickly created a massive Array, enclosing everyone inside.

The people slowly realized sothing was wrong.

This was clearly a Sacrificial Array!

"Wait, what are you, what are you trying to do?"

"We had an agreent that you would let us go! You, you’re not keeping your word!"

"Don’t rush , I am in the process of letting you go," Xu Shu said as he stepped outside the blood Array, took out a gleaming golden Altar labeled "Martial Artist," and seriously placed it atop the Sacrificial Array.

What was he letting go? What had he released?

The White Emperor Army and Deacon Yu were montarily taken aback.

They couldn’t see the "Martial Artist" Altar that Xu Shu had taken out, but they could tell this was a Sacrificial Array.

Was this so kind of Evil God’s Array? They had never seen it before.

Was this guy just drawing randomly?

What they didn’t know was that Xu Shu wasn’t drawing randomly; it was just that they were unfamiliar with this Array.

Setting up an Array was a task that tested one’s fundantal skills, and without years of arduous practice, it was easy to make mistakes.

Xu Shu, obviously, hadn’t undergone such rigorous training. Whether it was an Array to sacrifice to the Abyss Four Gods or to Lie Zhenzi, he had only seen them but had never learned them. He dared not to set them up recklessly.

The Array on the ground, however, was the only Sacrificial Array that Xu Shu was fully able to set up correctly, as he had personally done it hundreds, if not thousands of tis—in his campaigns at the ruins of the dead.

This Altar was used to summon the Evil God, Althias.

However, since Althias was gone, the direction of the casting definitely needed to be altered.

"O most high, eternal Lord, I beseech you to hear my call!"

"You are the supre being that holds dominion over space..."

"The great, infinite serpent of Ouroboros..."

"The dual-faced King of Ksitigarbha..."

Xu Shu’s expression was grave, his deanor serious as he intoned the words, beginning the summoning of a higher being: Tailed Ksitigarbha!

As he chanted, the blood on the ground and the corpses quickly evaporated. A whistling roar filled the air, and a crack opened above his head, out of which a pair of eyes seed to light up, casting their gaze upon Xu Shu beside the Altar!

For so reason, Xu Shu felt as if the gaze lingered for a mont before vanishing. The eerie, powerful aura also began to fade.

Uh, did Tailed Ksitigarbha not want to respond to ?

Xu Shu hesitated, pondering.

But it didn’t matter, he hadn’t intended to offer a sacrifice to that being anyway.

He manipulated the "Martial Artist" Altar, rising slowly, occupying the space of the original crack and completely filling the small gap that Tailed Ksitigarbha had quietly opened.

He had summoned an Evil God and then blocked it off with the Altar, the process went exceedingly smoothly, as seamless as could be—this was self-outsmarting.

Snap!

A surge of overwhelming power descended in an instant, and walls of golden light were erected on the ground.

Golden tendrils, reminiscent of flower stans, stretched down from the sky, one by one piercing into the bodies of the sacrifices, wantonly extracting life and flesh.

"Stop it already, wasn’t it agreed that we would be let go?"

"You’re breaking your word? You also swore to Lie Zhenzi, aren’t you afraid of trouble?"

"Brother, don’t do this! I’ll tell you everything I ah ah ah~"

"Save ~ Mommy ahh!"

"No, you can’t do this, you damn well can’t ah ah ah ah~"

Inside the Sacrificial Array, mbers of the White Emperor Army could no longer contain their fear and began to wail.

Trouble?

Xu Shu tossed the "Contract" onto the light barrier, which shattered it.

Seeing this, a smile appeared on his face as he took off his hat, bowed like a gentleman, and said,

"Most exalted Lie Zhenzi above, please accept this gift I offer to you! Take them all away!"
