The damage to one’s reputation could really be severe.
Xu Shu never expected to receive such a gift.
And she told him to be careful... what on earth was she thinking?
It was unexpected that this woman, who appeared devoted to her faith with bold eyebrows and large eyes, would harbor such filthy and true thoughts deep within. Indeed, appearances can be deceiving.
What did she take , Xu Shu, for?
Am I that kind of person?
Utterly disgusting!
The more Xu Shu thought about it, the angrier he beca.
After much hesitation, he opened his cherished small package and spread out a piece of green lace underwear—a pair of lace panties that had a significant origin, as it belonged to a Fine-ranked strange monster, the "Alluring Flower Puppet." Though it looked like any other pair of underwear, it was actually made from Extraordinary Material.
Through multiple experints by Xu Shu, the material of this underwear proved to be much better than any so-called brand-na leather bag, with its key feature being the ability to block Erosion Crystals. Therefore, he always carried and used it.
He placed a box of a brand whose na he did not know, a safety helt, into the underwear, along with a few other valuable Purple Crystals, and wrapped everything up neatly in the lace.
This way, there seed to be no apparent issue from the outside.
Xu Shu was sowhat satisfied with how he had packaged the items.
Next, he fixed his gaze in front and enveloped the Tai Chu Scroll within his line of sight.
"There are two more opportunities today; why not try entering the wilderness and hunt for so more Erosion Crystals?"
"Perfect, my strength has improved by leaps and bounds. Enemies that once gave a hard ti can now be taken down by the snap of my fingers. I’ve beco so formidable that it might be feasible to venture into the wilderness alone!"
"First Rank small fry, as long as there aren’t many, pose no real threat to . Even a solitary Second Rank, I have a fair chance of taking down directly!"
"And as for creatures above Third Rank, as long as I don’t stray too far from the border, I generally won’t encounter them!"
"Moreover, according to Su Ji Herrera’s words, there’s so conspiracy in the northeast Wasteland that might lead to a big incident. Maybe those high-ranked monsters have all gone there for the excitent. I’m already in the northern direction, so I shouldn’t be affected. This could be a great opportunity to fish in troubled waters~"
"Hmm, no rush to return to the city; I should take this chance to hunt more and thereby enhance my strength!"
Xu Shu’s eyes glead brightly as he clenched his fist, looking at the palm of his hand, his thoughts growing more and more enthusiastic.
When you have decided to act, act imdiately.
But first, eat.
He walked downstairs directly to the entrance of the refuge shelter, where a vendor was selling food by the door.
Xu Shu passed on the unappetizing instant cookies and chose a more delicious steaming hot at bun. He saw that the other end of the hall was bustling with a large crowd.
The "murder case" in the basent seed to have been discovered.
One could see a large circle of onlookers, either rchants or Wasteland Wanderers, many holding bread and buns, as if watching a drama.
Usually, in this day and age, everyone just looks after themselves, not caring about the frost on others’ roofs, but from a distance, it looked like there were people in line doing sothing very orderly.
Additionally, a series of chanting could faintly be heard.
What’s going on?
Xu Shu’s expression shifted, he paid for his breakfast, then turned and moved closer, ready to find out what was happening.
Amongst the surrounding crowd stood several monks with sorrowful faces. They were dressed in uniform yellow robes, each sitting cross-legged on the ground with their eyes closed, chanting scriptures.
In the center, alarmingly, were piles of corpses that Xu Shu had dealt with.
Charred fragnts of bodies, withered skeletons, and the mashed remains of the Demon Chosen One.
Additionally, there was also the body of a monk, more conspicuously placed on a stretcher.
He was dressed in the sa uniform robe, but in Xu Shu’s view, there was hardly any need for it; to start with, his robe was torn and tattered, with what appeared to be blood marks from lashes;
Secondly, this "corpse" was awkwardly cobbled together from scattered pieces of flesh.
The death seed quite tragic, as if he had been dismbered.
But compared to Ji Yang, it seed a bit better; Ji Yang had been turned into a mush.
"These monks seem ordinary enough, but one of them is a little special. The rosary beads in his hands have a faint glow, suggesting that he must be a Transcendent, the others re mortals..."
Xu Shu surveyed the scene, tugged at the arm of a tall and burly middle-aged man, who had just eaten his fifth large stead bun and seed reluctant to leave the drama, and asked casually,
"Brother, I’ve just co down. Could you tell what’s happened here?"
While speaking, Xu Shu very politely offered half of his breakfast, two big at buns, handing them over.
The man’s eyes lit up as he unceremoniously grabbed a bun and took a bite, relishing the crunch and zest of the juices, and turned back to look at Xu Shu. He was initially surprised at how robust the young man seed compared to himself. After a mont’s thought, he quietly said,
"See those masters over there? They are the Transcendent sirs! They say that last night a terrible Cult sneaked in here. They unleashed a monster, wanting to kill us all!"
Hmm, these monks have so insight... And then?
Why have you stopped talking?
Lost in thought, Xu Shu saw the burly man passionately pointing at the chanting monks inside. He had devoured the bun in a few bites and then turned his attention back to the remaining half in Xu Shu’s hand, swallowing and pausing while staring intently.
