The Bodhisattva opened one eyelid, the eyeball moved a few tis, and the original clear jade-like color turned into a crimson.
This crimson eye blinked, then a childish voice ca out: "What are you doing?"
The speaker was An Lan, and although Xu Shu identified it by the voice, there were actually better distinguishing traits.
It’s worth ntioning that the eye color of the Narrow Sleeve Guanyin represents the type of Evil Spirit power she unleashed.
Red represents the "Yang God," while black represents the "Yin God."
This is a rather general classification; the specific being unleashed can be further subdivided.
For instance, in the case of black, if it’s particularly seductive, it ans "Hei Shan"; if it’s a pitiful, resentful woman-like, then it’s "Yin God·Sorrow"; and the one with a sinister and fierce gaze but a calm voice is the newly arrived "Yin God·Anger."
Their respective "Seven Emotions suffix" will be displayed by the small jade Buddha, clearly showing their literal anings.
This actually has no absolute relation to their current real mood but purely exhibits the emotion corresponding to their type: desire is desire, sorrow is sorrow.
However, the "Yang God" appearing with red eyes is different.
The expression of the "Seven Spirits" suffix is unrelated to emotion, instead conveyed through the shape of the pupils and blood vessels.
After so observations, Xu Shu summarized the corresponding traits, feeling a bit like learning about cell states in a biology textbook.
For example, "Corpse Dog" is like those spreading cancer cells, "Expelling Filth" like macrophages, "Spectral Essence" like stem cells, and so on.
It can be said that each one has its own characteristics, with none repeating.
It seems with the help of the Primordial Spirit, each Evil Spirit unreservedly and starkly reveals its essence before Xu Shu, making it hard not to imagine the appearances of other suffixed Evil Spirits.
This is likely one of the main motivators for Xu Shu to choose to keep the Narrow Sleeve Guanyin.
Who could resist the process of "gradually completing a collection" under the condition of extre loyalty from the other party?
It’s simply irresistible!
As for "Fu Shi" An Lan... well, yes, the eyes she revealed were exactly "E. coli!"
Xu Shu showed a slight disdain, took out the photo left by Anzi, and put it in front of her asking: "Look, is this you?"
"Yeah, it’s ." An Lan said casually.
"Look carefully before answering!"
Did you actually focus your gaze!
Xu Shu moved the photo a little closer, sowhat annoyed.
Only then did An Lan seriously take a few looks, seeming to carefully distinguish, and then said: "This is ."
"Are you sure? This looks nothing like you."
"It really is . Back then, I was little, and it was a photo taken when my brother took to the zoo, there was even a seal at that ti. Hehe, An Lan bets you haven’t seen a seal."
"???" Xu Shu was stunned, she really rembered?
A mont later, Xu Shu pondered and asked: "What about your brother then?"
An Lan: "He died.."
"How did he die? Did you see the body?"
"No, I didn’t."
"Then how are you sure your brother is dead?"
"Mum said it, that brother died on the battlefield, then I was sent to a place where no one was friendly, so I ate them." An Lan said as if it was self-evident.
"..." Xu Shu was silent for a mont, roughly understanding the situation.
It’s quite evident that An Lan was sold when she was very young.
As for the words about her brother’s death, it was clearly the traffickers tricking a child.
The poor kid lost her parents and freedom at such a young age.
Wait a minute... Xu Shu froze, asking: "What did you eat?"
"Those very fierce people."
"How did you eat them?"
"With my mouth, of course."
"...Why eat them?"
"They didn’t give food to eat and even beat , so I ate them. Does there need to be a reason?"
"...And then?"
"Then Master took in. If it weren’t for Master taking care of , An Lan would have starved to death! But then you ate Master, so now you have to take care of my als." An Lan blinked and said.
"..."
Xu Shu’s expression stiffened; Wu Liuzhi, what a joke, was eaten by !
However, thinking about it this way, An Lan most probably showed so special trait at a very young age?
After thinking for a while, Xu Shu recalled so rumors.
It was said in the few years before the Great Catastrophe, with the gradual descent of relics, ordinary people constantly died from accidentally coming into contact with items from these relics.
Among them, a very small number of people were lucky not to die and awakened so special abilities, capable of spraying water, spewing fire, and doing the impossible.
At that ti, human society didn’t know why this was happening and called it "Spiritual Qi Revival," even referring to those who gained abilities as "psychics," held in high esteem.
From the perspective today, it’s known that this so-called psychic awakening was just people being eroded and infected, barely surviving and mutating into a half-human, half-wraith existence.
Due to this, the old Extraordinary World, originally hidden behind the scenes, had to step into the spotlight and establish the Supervision Bureau, displaying absolute power to handle anomalies before the world.
These mutation incidents gradually got integrated under the control of the Astronomy Association, eventually evolving into the Curse Seal system, which is the new practice thod.
Initially, the Curse Seal system was not favored due to side effects until after the Great Catastrophe, when the Sealing Technique completely replaced the original Transcendent system.
The old thods beca ineffective; the new thod beca the only way.
...By the way, the Astronomy Association was actually the initiating organization of the original Supervision Bureau...
Judging from this not-too-distant history, An Lan must have inadvertently co into contact with so relic items and got abilities due to infection from the relics back then.
