After a week of intensive preparation, the major hurdle of the final exams finally arrived.

The exam was only on Friday, with geography and biology in the morning and history in the afternoon.

When the bell rang to signal the end of the exams, the six of them walked out of the exam hall feeling relieved.

Of course, they weren’t really relieved, because the final exams were next Wednesday.

It felt like during a university exam week, just when you walked out of a calculus exam thinking you could relax, you rembered that tomorrow you’d have a physics exam, and you had to hold your breath and continue to pull an all-nighter.

After the exams, Xu Qingfan went to the bathroom and when he returned to the class, all five girls were already sitting at their desks.

"See, I told you the test paper wasn’t hard," he said, putting his backpack behind his chair.

"Don’t feel too good about yourself, what if your score turns out to be 79."

"You an you?"

"You!"

Seeing that the two were about to start their usual banter, Xiao Ruanwen hurriedly interjected, "It’s not that it wasn’t hard, but the total score of the final exams won’t include these three subjects, which is such a pity."

Lin Wanning was initially basking in the joy of knowing how to solve every problem on the test, but her face fell when she heard this, "Exactly, the overall ranking won’t include these three subjects, it will be hard to make it into the top six of the grade in the finals."

"Wuu~ Wanning!"

"Wuu~ Ruanwen!"

The two academic strugglers looked at each other and could only hug each other for comfort with tears almost spilling.

Xu Qingfan shook his head amusedly, and went to drink so water only to find his water bottle empty. After pouring so water from Lin Wanning’s bottle, he said:

"I’ve said it many tis, don’t focus too much on the ranking. Whether you rank sixth or sixtieth in the grade, you’re still going to high school. As long as you’re in the top sixty, the exact rank doesn’t really matter."

"So Brother Qing Fan, are we going to the high school division?" Lin Wanning caught the key point and asked with sparkling eyes.

The others turned their gaze toward Xu Qingfan.

"So you’ve decided on the high school division? Then I don’t need to work so hard next sester!" Xiao Ruanwen added.

Xu Qingfan had seriously considered this issue. With their current grades, if they kept it up and explored so independent enrollnt options, getting into Hong Kong Teachers’ College was actually feasible. However, he was worried that Lin Wanning and Xiao Ruanwen might not be able to keep up with the pace of learning in high school.

After all, even in middle school, the problems that he and Xia Xiaoxiao could solve at a glance would take the two girls a long ti to solve, and the problems in high school would be much harder than those in middle school.

Going to such a prestigious high school where sudden academic underperformance might occur, becoming the lowest perforr was one thing, but more importantly, the teachers there could not afford to slow the pace just for them.

If they really went to Hong Kong Teachers’ College, Xu Qingfan could already imagine Lin Wanning secretly crying in the dorm room every night.

Hong Kong Teachers’ College was excellent, and even the worst students there aid for the neighboring Gang City Normal School 211. However, it wasn’t suitable for Lin Wanning and Xiao Ruanwen, and not quite right for Xu Qingfan either.

Not to ntion he had a 14-year-old college entrance exam cheating tool in reserve—although he rembered not much content, just scoring full marks on both the Chinese and English essays could provide an 80-point head start, and getting into university would definitely not be difficult.

Xu Qingfan had even thought that if Xia Xiaoxiao scored full marks in the Chinese essay and took the college entrance exam again, she might have a shot at becoming the provincial top scorer. However, given the girl’s current internet addiction, it seed unlikely...

Having thought everything through, he smiled and said, "Yes, let’s go for the high school division. I think the academic pressure at Hong Kong Teachers’ College is too high. A slightly less competitive high school would still be better than going straight to our district’s key school, which is closer to ho and has a nice environnt."

"Hehe~ then I’ll listen to Brother Qing Fan, and from now on, I won’t care too much about my ranking in exams. Being in the top sixty is good enough!" Lin Wanning was very happy, a heavy burden had easily disappeared from her heart, and she would be able to attend the sa high school as Brother Qing Fan.

"I’m fine with anything." Xia Xiaoxiao shrugged; the girl actually didn’t care much about which high school she would go to, because the placent test requires you to choose your preferences before the exams, and she just needed to fill in the sa choices as Xu Qingfan, ensuring they would definitely be in the sa high school.

"I’ll go with... everyone." Wu Lingyu glanced at Xu Qingfan and said.

"Together."

The six of them nodded in unison, and the matter of which high school to attend was settled.

After the class representative had finished asking the teacher and wrote this week’s howork on the board, students began to leave the classroom in small groups.

"Let’s go."

They quickly noted down the week’s howork, packed their bags, and left.

Since school ended an hour early on Fridays and there was a test this week, it ended even twenty minutes earlier.

The six of them left the school grounds just after four o’clock, put their backpacks back at their secret base, and then could go wandering around with Little White in tow.

This was arguably the mont they looked forward to each week the most. Tomorrow was a day off, and they still had two hours before they needed to head ho for dinner. In those two hours, they could go wherever they wanted and do whatever they liked.

Because they were still wearing their school uniforms but didn’t have the pressure of school the next day, anything they decided to do felt even more fun than usual.

Each of them held a grilled sausage, even Little White had one in its mouth, but since Lin Wanning kept pulling it along, the dog could only hold onto the sausage and drooled all over the ground.

Lin Wanning finally stopped, pulling on the leash and turning around to ask Xu Qingfan, "Brother Qing Fan, in high school, can we still be in the sa class, and sit next to each other?"

While the girl paused to speak, Little White finally managed to drop the sausage it had been holding in its mouth and started eating.

"There’s more than a year left, let’s talk about it then." Xu Qingfan finished his last bite of sausage and casually tossed the stick onto a haphazardly parked car.

"Always ’let’s talk about it then’, Brother Qing Fan, you always say that!" Lin Wanning pouted, feeling aggrieved.

"Your mouth could hang a hanger on it." Xu Qingfan laughed as he wiped the corners of her mouth with a tissue, "Usually, high schools shuffle the classes randomly, unless it’s like in middle school where you pull strings."

"Hehe~ With Aunt Zhang around, there’s definitely no problem!" Lin Wanning instantly cheered up again and, imitating Xu Qingfan, also threw her stick onto the car, "Hehe~ Little White, let’s run!"

"Woof~" Little White looked back at the half-eaten sausage on the ground, its paws frantically braking as they were dragged along.

"Hahaha~ Little White hasn’t finished its sausage yet."

The six of them walked along the bustling cross-river bridge, the setting sun casting its light on them, making every strand of hair glow.

"Haha~ Hurry up, you guys!"

"Woof woof!"

Lin Wanning had already run far ahead, turning back to shout at them with the dog.

"Coming!"

They were like travelers on the Sunset Boulevard, known to the wind and nobody else.
