"Well, it’s actually easy to know about the first information if you simply ask around. But since you’re here for that information as well, I’ll tell you for free." Gareth answered with a smile and proceeded to brief Jas on everything they knew about the artificer.

One detail stuck with Jas, Gareth said the artificer had remained in the city for years because he once ntioned he was waiting for a fated person.

’Am I really the Chosen One?’ That’s what Jas thought to himself when he heard it.

"He’s certainly an intriguing individual," Jas chuckled once Gareth finished.

"Yeah, I think so too," Gareth replied with a laugh.

After a mont, he raised an eyebrow and looked at Jas. "As for the Wolfsblade Family, are you asking on your own behalf, or are you representing the Steelheart Family?"

"As an individual." Jas smiled faintly, aware that the Steelheart Family was a regular client of Gareth’s.

He knew Gareth would normally only share the most recent developnts with them since the last ti they inquired had been a week earlier.

"Oh? If that’s the case..." Gareth launched into a rundown of notable events from the past months. He spoke for a while, ticking off nas, incidents, and movents.

Around 15 minutes later...

After listening to a lot of information at once, Jas smiled viciously at one particular piece of information.

Three days ago the Wolfsblade had publicly exposed a betrayal and one of the nad betrayers was Turner, the man who had once ambushed Jas and been told by the Platinum Knight to flee. However, they didn’t disclose the reason for an unknown reason.

"That’s it." Jas clapped his hands and got up, then asked Gareth calmly. "How much?"

"Ten Platinum-rank energy crystals." Gareth replied with a smile.

Jas nodded and waved his hand, taking out 10 Platinum-rank energy crystals from the inventory and putting them on the tables.

"Thanks. I’ll co again if I need more." Jas chuckled as he walked toward the door.

"You’re welco, Young Master Jas." Gareth replied and took his jade pendant from his waist as soone had contacted him.

The mont he learned sothing from his subordinate, he smiled and thought to himself. ’Interesting.’

Gareth imdiately got up from his seat and walked toward the door.

At Jas’s side, just as soone opened the front door for him, Jas stopped his walk when he saw a young man around his age standing two ters in front of the door.

He wore black clothes with the Wolfsblade insignia stamped on his chest. His ssy short black hair swayed softly as if the wind had just passed by.

"Yooo, isn’t this the infamous talentless Young Master Jas of the Steelhearts?" The young man ridiculed Jas loudly, gathering the nearby people’s attention.

Jas calmly glanced at the young man in front of him for a second and started to walk out, intending to ignore the provocation. But the youth reached out and planted a hand on Jas’s shoulder, forcing him to stop.

Jas tilted his head, slapped the hand away casually, and asked with a composed tone, "Darik, what do you want?"

"Wow... look at this motherfucker. Since when do you act like this?" Darik gritted his teeth in anger.

"Since now, why?" Jas smiled faintly.

Darik imdiately laughed and looked at Jas curiously. "Are you insane? Who gave you the guts to act so arrogantly in my territory?" The so-called Steelheart family that’s falling—"

Slap!

Jas slapped Darik’s face and said with a serious tone. "You can insult however you want, but don’t you dare insult the honor of the Steelhearts."

The onlookers gasped at the sudden turn. No one had ever expected that Jas was so bold as to slap the Young Master of the Wolfsblade Family right in their territory.

Darik was stunned, blinking his eyes a few tis in speechlessness. Even though he could block the slap easily since he was much stronger than Jas, who would’ve thought that Jas would dare to slap him?

Let alone doing it in this place, the place where the Wolfsblade Family resided in the center of Lycranor City.

He then ca back to his senses and touched his cheek, still feeling the slight pain and sha, as there were a lot of people nearby.

"You piece of shit!" He bellowed out in anger and raised his hand as he wanted to slap Jas back.

Just as the hand was about to slap Jas, Nyxrael appeared beside Jas and stopped the hand.

"Slap him!" Jas ordered calmly.

Slap!

Nyxrael directly slapped Darik’s cheek with the back of his hand, sending him stumbling across the street.

The middle-aged man accompanying Darik moved to draw his sword, fingers already on the hilt, but froze when he heard Jas’ voice.

"Don’t unsheathe that sword if you don’t want to die." Jas said coldly.

"Kill them for !" Darik shouted angrily.

The middle-aged man hesitated for a second but decided to draw his sword, thinking that Jas’s words were just an empty threat as no one would be so stupid enough to kill soone from the Wolfsblade Family in their territory.

Unfortunately for him, Jas was a cruel individual when it ca to dealing with his enemies.

The mont Nyxrael saw the middle-aged man draw his blade slightly, he moved like a shadow, appearing before the man and sweeping his sword in a clean horizontal arc.

The man’s head separated from his body, his face frozen in stunned disbelief.

Nyxrael rely flicked his sword, cleaning it from the blood and sheathing it again.

"Should I kill him too?" Nyxrael asked with a calm expression.

"Hmmm... Should we?" Jas looked up at the sky, seemingly thinking about sothing as he placed his fingers on his chin.
