Yiyue and Peiying were each holding a child.

After entering the room, people were seated around two tables, almost divided into n at one table and won at the other, and there were two stoves in the room, with so people warming themselves around them.

Pei Min was pulled over to the won’s table, while Peidi was surrounded by a group of won and was in the midst of a conversation.

"Look, your cousin is here."

"Pei Min, what have you been up to? I heard you arrived early in the morning, why didn’t you co over?"

Everyone in the room focused their attention on Yang Peimin, their gazes assessing her.

Yang Peimin replied, "I’ve got too many kids at ho, I couldn’t manage."

Then, everyone’s eyes turned to her children.

"How many children did you have?"

"I clearly rember you weren’t pregnant the year before last? And now suddenly you have three? You really are sothing!"

Yang Peimin just smiled.

"Are these twins, a boy and a girl? They look good."

Yang Peidi brought over two chairs for Yang Peimin, "Cousin, sit down and let’s talk."

Yang Peimin invited Shen Yiyue and Yang Peiying to sit down as well.

"I heard, Pei Min, you’re still in school, can you even have kids while studying?"

"Having so many children all at once, who helps you look after them? I rember last ti your mom ca over to help you through your confinent. Why didn’t your mother-in-law co?"

"Is this your younger aunt? Is she helping you take care of the kids? I heard Yingzi also went over to your place? Is she helping with the children too?"

Yang Peimin finally understood why they had been so eager to call her over – it was all to satisfy their curiosity for gossip.

Yang Peimin shared a bit of what she could talk about; whatever she didn’t want to discuss, she skillfully changed the topic.

Yang Peiqiong and Yang Peiyan, the two sisters, were also here. When Yang Peimin entered, she saw them but didn’t interact much with them.

Yang Peiyan’s eyes, since the mont Peimin walked in, had been tracking her non-stop.

Yang Peimin glanced indifferently at her, and Yang Peiyan gave a snort and looked away.

"You Yang family won are all so lucky, marrying better than all of us here," soone remarked nostalgically.

At this remark, everyone agreed and nodded their heads, thinking indeed it was true.

"They say that your family has two college graduates, sothing we can’t compare with."

"Although that’s true, for a girl, the best fate still lies in marriage, right? Marrying well is what really counts..."

"Isn’t it true that they married well? Speaking of which, your family’s feng shui must be really good. Producing two college graduates and each married better than the last. Look, Peiqiong married into Shanglu, a big city with everything. Her husband is also a college graduate, free from worries about food and clothing, and he’ll have a good job in the future, soone even we look up to... And Pei Min married a military man, it’s hard being a Military Wife, but now it seems she has made it through. Pei Min, you followed him not long after getting married, then went to school and had children. It looks like you held your own at your in-law’s place, Pei Min, your husband, they say he’s so minor official, right? You see, you’re doing much better than us. Although you also married a rural man, you don’t have to work in the fields, nor do you have to stay at ho taking care of the elderly. Look, you’re about to start working soon... Now Peidi has also married well. Peidi, I heard your in-law’s house is really nice? When you got married, the dowry they gave you was the largest our village had ever seen. Where else could you find a rural family who could offer so much dowry? So you see, you Yang family daughters really are lucky..." That was the concluded by one of the chatty folks.

At her words, everyone laughed, and although so were unconvinced and grimaced, no one spoke up to refute.

"Peidi, I heard your in-law’s house is a big place? Each person in your in-law’s family earns a wage, free from cares about food and clothing. They buy whatever they like, unlike us who toil from dawn to dusk bending our backs just to scrape together a few bites."

Yang Peidi, hearing soone ask her, just smiled and nodded, pursed her lips and said, "His family doesn’t have many siblings, just two, my husband is the elder, and he has a younger brother, both of whom are already married. The family hasn’t split up yet, we live together with the parents, the house is quite big. Although we haven’t split the household, it’s almost like we have, everyone cooks their al, but our family still eats with the two elders. My husband is filial and can’t stand seeing his parents cook by themselves, I knew this before I married him. My mom told , treat his parents as your own, and I always rember that, I even carry the water for my mother-in-law to wash her feet..."

Then Peidi went on and on about her in-law’s family matters...

Yang Peimin listened to her tone, clearly very satisfied with her in-law’s family, and hinted she was quite at ease and well-liked by her in-laws.

Yang Peimin just listened on the side without interjecting.

Next to her, Shen Yiyue stared fixedly at Yang Peidi, seemingly contemplating her words.

"When is it your turn, Haiyan? Look, the sisters in your family are around the sa age, and most have married off, leaving only you and Yingzi. What about you? Got anyone in mind? If there’s soone, don’t hesitate to tell us so we can help you judge."

As people listened intently and then turned to Yang Peiyan, it seed her age was similar to Yang Peidi’s, probably born the sa year, so naturally, they were curious. Usually, Yang Peiyan seed quite proud, though all Yang family daughters seed so, initially they thought Yang Peimin might have trouble marrying off, but no sooner had they finished talking than she was married...

Yang Peiyan’s expression turned awkward, her tone impatient, "What’s the rush? I’m still young. My parents can’t stand to marry off so soon, otherwise our doorstep would have been worn down by suitors. But speaking of which, a few young n have sounded out, their conditions quite good, so from the town too, with jobs and education, so even have parents who are officials in town... But I haven’t given my consent yet. Marriage is a huge decision, naturally, I’ll choose carefully... Otherwise, a wrong choice ans a lifeti of regret. Plus, their character and background have to be good, who wants to haggle over daily necessities with them later... I certainly don’t like the idea of getting married and imdiately having a bunch of kids, then revolving around them..."

"Hehe..."

Yang Peiyan slightly raised her head, a proper smile on her face, and glanced over at Yang Peimin, "No matter how much you study, it all boils down to just having kids anyway..."
