Yiguang was waiting for her in the library with the two kids and had practically developed a crick in his neck.
Seeing the looks on their faces, Yang PeiMin couldn’t help but laugh, "Sorry, I’m late."
The two kids rushed over and hugged her thighs, "Auntie, where did you go? We’ve already read so many comic books, and you still hadn’t co back."
Yang PeiMin patted their little heads, "Are you hungry?" she asked them, then looked up at Shen Yiguang.
Shen Yiguang had already stood up, took the kids, and said, "Let’s go, it’s getting late."
Yang PeiMin then packed up a bunch of dumplings, buns, and pastries from a nearby restaurant, along with so snacks, and called them over to hurry to a small park for a picnic.
The kids were thrilled. After eating their fill, Yang PeiMin sat with Shen Yizhang on a stone bench and watched the little sisters play. She comnted, "Look how happy they are playing. They usually don’t get to go out like this. The scenery here is really nice."
Then, Shen Yiguang’s gaze drifted to her stomach, "Looks like I need to work harder, wife."
Yang PeiMin glared at him, "My period isn’t very regular yet; waiting a bit longer to conceive might an a healthier baby."
Shen Yiguang looked at her and said, "Then you shouldn’t overexert yourself. Once Mr. Lu cos back, we’ll send the kids back with them. You should rest and take good care of yourself. I have a comrade whose hotown is abundant with wild ginseng; I’ll ask him to mail so over for you to stew and drink."
"Is that even possible? That sounds expensive."
Shen Yiguang stroked the hair by her cheek, "Don’t worry about it."
"Uncle Shen, Auntie..." Da Niu, pulling Xiao Niu along, ran over to them, pointing in a direction to their left, "Just now, a lady was asking us so questions."
Yang Peimin looked in the direction she was pointing. Amidst a row of trees, she vaguely saw a figure clad in red, which seed sowhat familiar, "What did that person ask?"
"She asked if the kids were out with their parents. I didn’t answer her; auntie said we don’t have to talk to strangers."
Yang Peimin praised her, "Well done, Da Niu, you rembered what auntie said. If a stranger cos up and talks to you, just co back to the adults, and let them ask. Who knows if that person had good or bad intentions; I was too busy talking and didn’t notice what was happening with the kids."
anwhile, Shen Yiguang stood up and said to her, "You guys keep playing here, I’m going to check things out over there."
Yang Peimin knew he was worried, so she nodded. The park wasn’t very large, just so trees, flowers, and so small wooden and stone play equipnt for kids. There were also other people around with their children, so she felt quite reassured.
After a while, Shen Yiguang ca back, and Yang PeiMin just asked, "What’s up? Is there a problem?"
Shen Yiguang shook his head and said, "It’s nothing. They just asked casually and have already left."
Yang PeiMin nodded her head. Noticing the sky was also getting darker, she said, "Let’s head back too."
After Shen Yiguang returned, a couple of days later he ca back over, saying that Mr. Lu and his wife had returned. He ca to take the children back. During this ti, his wife had been juggling taking care of the children and attending school, and she was exhausted. He felt so heartbroken about it, but now that they were finally back. Although it was almost the weekend in just a couple of days, he didn’t want his wife to look after the children for even one more day, although the two kids were well-behaved and obedient.
Yang PeiMin was also happy. Although the children were happy with her, they were still greatly missing their parents and brother. Now that they were back with them, it was all good.
After she shared the news with the children, Da Niu was very happy. But Xiao Niu was sowhat reluctant. Perhaps children are quick to forget; she had grown very dependent on Yang PeiMin over this period and had adapted to life here, having sowhat forgotten about being apart from her biological parents. Now, suddenly having to part with Yang PeiMin again, she was unwilling and shook her little head, "I don’t want to go back to mom. I want auntie..."
Da Niu also glanced at Yang PeiMin and fell silent. She was unwilling to leave too, but with her parents back, she missed them as well.
Yang PeiMin hugged Xiao Niu, "Xiao Niu, your mom is back and she brought so tasty treats. She’s missed you and your sister so much. Auntie has things to do, but I promise to co visit Xiao Niu in a couple of days, okay? I’ll bring so milk candy."
After so persuading, she finally managed to get her into Shen Yiguang’s car. Watching the car drive away, she also felt a twinge of reluctance, but, after all, she had fulfilled this favor for her friend.
After withdrawing the kids from the daycare and guest house, Yang PeiMin moved back to the dorm.
The academic atmosphere at the school was good, and she felt as if she had returned to her senior year in high school. Life beca fulfilling again.
However, the atmosphere in the dorm was not so great.
In fact, with so many people in one dormitory, everyone had their own habits and odd quirks. Not to ntion others, she herself often cleaned the dormitory and arranged items neatly, which so roommates thought was fussy and unnecessary. Maybe so even harbored so dislike towards her behind her back. Nevertheless, she also found it hard to tolerate so of the noises at night in the dorm, like snoring and teeth grinding, especially when soone liked to tell ghost stories. But, these were all manageable.
The breaking point in the dorm, however, ca from Guo Caixia’s daughter, Xiao Lian, who had recently visited the hospital and had started to get better. On a recent weekend, Guo Caixia took her ho for a visit, and upon returning, sohow she started vomiting and suffering from diarrhea. The incidents of not making it to the toilet in ti and ssing up her pants were nothing compared to when she vomited onto the bed across from Liu Yilan’s. Liu Yilan blew up on the spot. Even though Guo Caixia apologized and promised to wash it thoroughly, Liu Yilan was not satisfied and demanded that Guo Caixia compensate her with a new quilt because not only was the quilt cover wet, but the cotton inside was too, which as everyone knows, can only be dried but might still retain a sll.
So Liu Yilan insisted, leaving no room for negotiation, and demanded a new quilt from Guo Caixia, who finally agreed, though she couldn’t co up with the money right away.
Liu Yilan was having none of it. Whether she had to borrow or steal, she wanted a new quilt imdiately.
But Guo Caixia was still in debt to so roommates for the money she borrowed for Xiao Lian’s dical expenses. Now, this quilt—which wasn’t cheap, nearly ten yuan—just added to her burdens.
Guo Caixia used her own quilt for Liu Yilan to use in the anti, and thought of other ways to solve the problem. Seeing Guo Caixia’s truly destitute appearance, Liu Yilan reluctantly gave her so ti to co up with the money.
Once that issue arose, Liu Yilan’s displeasure about Guo Caixia bringing her child to the university beca even more evident. Sotis, during conversations with others, she would bring up the matter. The more she talked, the more it got back to Guo Caixia’s ears.
