Is she seeing things?

Why did she see soone who shouldn’t be here?

Gavin Miles?

Isn’t he supposed to be in prison?

Alia Miles watched Gavin Miles enter a private room, her almond-shaped eyes shimring.

No way, she had to go and find out if she was really seeing things.

If she didn’t figure it out, she wouldn’t be able to sleep.

Thinking this, Alia glanced around and quickly walked to the outside of the private room.

The private room here is very elegant, designed in a Japanese style.

Alia leaned against the sliding door, pressing her ear against it.

"You look well, have you recovered your energy?"

"I’ve recovered, thank you."

"No need to thank ..."

The voices inside weren’t very clear, so Alia shifted her body to hear more clearly.

At that mont, soone suddenly shouted from inside, "Who’s out there?"

They were discovered.

Alia was startled, she quickly stood up straight and turned to leave.

The door was pulled open, and soone grabbed her arm, pulling her inside the room.

The man’s grip was strong, causing pain in Alia’s arm.

She gasped, frowning, "Let go."

The person holding her released her hand but pushed her to the ground, making her kneel before a man.

A flicker of anger flashed in Alia’s eyes as she raised her eyes to look at the man seated in front of her, seeing that he was a middle-aged man around fifty.

The man’s hair was slicked back, his appearance was ordinary, but his eyes were sharp with worldly cunning.

Looking at his attire, it seed he had so stature.

Alia glanced around but didn’t see Gavin Miles.

There were only two people in the room.

It seed to be a master-servant pair.

Could it really be that she was seeing things?

Alia glanced at the indifferent-looking man standing beside her, eyes flickering.

This man was tall, different from the one she had just seen.

But that person clearly entered this room and is now nowhere to be found.

Instinctively, Alia looked back.

There was a screen behind...

"What are you looking around for? Tell , who sent you?"

The seated middle-aged man took a sip of tea and asked indifferently.

The man beside her quickly blocked Alia’s view, eyes filled with warning.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about, I was just passing by."

Alia tried to get up from the ground, but the man beside her grabbed her, preventing her from standing up.

"What are you doing? Let go."

Alia frowned with anger.

The man ignored her, firmly pressing her to the ground.

The man sitting looked at her, still speaking at his leisure, "Just passing by? Then why were you eavesdropping at the door? I advise you to confess honestly, or else..."

He didn’t finish his sentence, instead picking up a grape from the table and slowly crushing it.

This was a show of force.

Did he an he’d kill her if she didn’t tell the truth?

Who are these people?

How can they be so arrogant?

Alia was startled inside, but her face didn’t show it.

"Who are you people? I said I was just passing by, what do you want to confess? Besides, were you doing sothing shady here? Why threaten ?"

Upon hearing this, a trace of fierceness flashed in the seated man’s eyes.

"You’re sharp-tongued, slap her mouth!"

"Yes."

The man beside her, hearing the order, yanked Alia’s hair, ready to slap her.

Alia was shocked and just about to speak when the door was pulled open.

"Try touching a hair on my wife’s head."

Damon Hawke strode in, punching the man who was about to slap Alia.

The man stumbled back, barely managing to stand firm.

"Tom."

Alia sighed with relief, quickly got up from the ground, and ran to his side.

"Are you okay?"

Damon Hawke’s face was a shadow of anger, he asked with concern.

"I’m fine."

Alia shook her head, watching the man in the seat with so caution.

Damon Hawke held Alia in his arms, also looking at the man in the seat with a sharp gaze.

"Sir, may I ask what offense my wife has done to you?"

The man stared at Damon, suddenly smiling, "Misunderstanding, misunderstanding. You’re Damon Hawke, right? I apologize, seems this lady is your wife, Alia Miles?"

Hearing this, Damon’s dark eyes flicked, "It’s just the two of us, dare I ask who you are?"

"Ever heard of the Franen Family? I am Franen."

The middle-aged man took a sip of tea, a subtle light glinting in his eyes as he looked at Damon.

Damon’s eyes showed a flicker of surprise, but it quickly vanished.

"Ah, it’s Mr. Franen, I’ve long heard your na."

The Franen Family, a newly rising family of prominence in Country F.

On the surface, they run legitimate businesses, but in reality, they’re involved in gray activities.

No wonder they’re so wary of strangers.

Afraid soone may overhear sothing they shouldn’t.

It’s said the Franen Family was established by two n.

Rumor has it that these two n are partners, and because such relations aren’t recognized dostically, they developed overseas.

"Mr. Hawke, I’ve co to Sea City to expand business, I heard you’re the youngest and wealthiest among Sea City’s young talents. Since we et, how about sitting down for a chat?"

Franen asked, looking at Damon.

Damon snapped back, speaking indifferently, "Sorry, Mr. Franen, my wife and I are on holiday, and we don’t discuss work during vacations. If there’s nothing else, we’ll take our leave."

Having said that, he didn’t wait for Franen’s agreent and left with Alia in his arms.

The smile disappeared from Franen’s face, and a harsh glint flashed in his eyes.

Damon Hawke, such a big shot!

Really giving no face!

"Co out."

Franen restrained his expression, calling towards the screen.

The person inside slowly walked out.

Short in stature, with a buzz cut, who else could it be but Gavin Miles?

He stared at the doorway, his eyes filled with hatred.

"It was Damon Hawke and Alia Miles? I want to kill them."

Because of those two, he almost died in prison.

Fortunately, his biological father ca and manipulated things in prison, making him take a pill and be declared dead from a sudden heart attack.

This brought him back to life.

And he never expected his biological father to be this man nad Franen.

The head of a family.

Truly the heavens haven’t abandoned him!

"I know you hate them, be patient, wait for the right mont, I’ll help you get your revenge."

Franen glanced at Gavin and offered a calm reassurance.

This was his flesh and blood, a child he paid a woman to bear.

Because he didn’t like won, but had to leave a legacy to inherit the family business, he had to go to the country twenty years ago to find a woman to conceive.

Originally, his child should have grown up by his side.

But unexpectedly, the woman he found was too greedy, taking the money yet unwilling to hand over the child, demanding recognition instead.

He, of course, refused, so the woman ran away when his people weren’t looking.

In the process, probably due to fetal issues, Gavin Miles was born just like that.

And the woman died of blood loss.

By chance, Gavin was taken by Mrs. Grant, spending twenty-odd years as the Miles family heir.

It was only after repeated investigations that he finally found his biological child.

Just a bit more, and his only blood relative in this world would have been killed by Damon Hawke.

He won’t let it go!
