In a tastefully decorated jewelry boutique, salespeople in matching uniforms bore professional smiles as they welcod custors entering the store.
"Brooke, this jewelry store is invested in by the Grant Family. Let’s go in and have a look."
Alia Miles and Sarah Moore stood outside, Alia Miles said with a smile.
"Keeping it in the family, huh?"
Sarah Moore made a playful remark and was about to enter with Alia Miles.
But her gaze passed through the glass window, clear as a mirror, and upon seeing the profile of soone inside, Sarah Moore’s smile vanished instantly.
The hand holding the little child subconsciously squeezed, causing the child to let out a discomforted whimper.
"Brooke, what’s wrong?"
Alia Miles noticed Sarah Moore had stopped in her tracks, her gaze fixed upon a person in the boutique as if she wanted to devour them, and asked puzzledly.
Sarah Moore did not reply, instead gently soothing the whimpering child.
Alia Miles followed Sarah Moore’s line of sight, and upon spotting the person inside, she instantly understood.
A woman was looking at jewelry inside, and that woman was none other than Selena Taylor.
She was the one who had severely wronged Leia Quinn, no wonder Leia, now Sarah Moore, would look at Selena with such animosity.
"Brooke."
Alia Miles looked worriedly at Sarah Moore.
Sarah Moore regained her composure and forced out a smile.
"I’m fine. Just an enemy crossing my path. I’m pondering over how to teach soone a lesson."
Selena Taylor almost ruined her; she had never forgotten this vendetta.
Encountering her unexpectedly, she hadn’t yet figured out how to deal with her.
Upon hearing this, Alia Miles glanced at Selena Taylor who was trying on jewelry, and her eyes twinkled.
"Brooke, today, don’t do anything—just watch from the side and see how I handle her."
Sarah Moore was startled, yet before she could speak, she was pulled into the boutique by Alia Miles.
The salespeople greeted them warmly.
Alia Miles gestured for them to carry on and idly wandered around.
She ca alongside Selena Taylor, who was removing a bracelet from her wrist.
"This bracelet looks nice. Are there any promotions now?"
Selena Taylor casually asked.
Not that she truly cared about promotions or discounts.
But won love a good bargain.
Any discount, of course, would be better.
"Mrs. Lu, this bracelet is a new release, and there are no promotions at the mont,"
The salesperson explained politely.
"No promotions now, but there surely will be in the future. I’m a regular custor, can’t you give a discount so I don’t feel like I’m losing out?"
Selena Taylor moved the bracelet away for a closer look, thinking about what outfit might match it.
Then, a fair, slender hand reached over, grabbing the bracelet from her.
"Is a bracelet really worth haggling over like this, Mrs. Lu? If you can’t afford it, don’t embarrass yourself here. Wrap it up for , I’ll pay with my card,"
The bracelet was snatched, accompanied by a ruthless taunt.
Selena Taylor angrily turned her head, glaring at Alia Miles, "Alia Miles, this was my chosen bracelet."
Alia Miles was reaching for her card, feigning surprise, "Oh, you picked this one? I thought you found it too pricey! Besides, you haven’t paid yet, have you?"
Selena Taylor darkened her face, staring at Alia Miles before turning to the service clerk, "Waiter, it’s mine; wrap it for ."
Alia Miles let out a snide laugh, "Selena Taylor, fighting over a bracelet with soone else? A leopard never changes its spots!"
"What did you say?"
Selena Taylor shrieked in fury.
Alia Miles dug a finger into her ear, "Quieten down, Mrs. Lu. Even if soone hits your sore spot, don’t lose control in anger. Aren’t you a person of status?"
Selena Taylor glared at Alia Miles who wore a tranquil expression, her chest heaving in rage.
The salespeople were awkwardly standing there, glancing back and forth, "Ladies, the bracelet..."
Who should it go to!
"Wrap it for , didn’t you hear?"
Selena Taylor barked at the salesperson.
Alia Miles tossed her hair with a mocking smile, "Mrs. Lu, that’s no fun. Miss, I’ll offer double the price, wrap the bracelet for ."
The salesperson looked conflicted, glanced at Selena Taylor.
Selena Taylor’s face was unpleasant, shouted, "What double? You think this is an auction? This bracelet has a fixed price."
"I want to; the extra is a tip for these young ladies’ hard work."
Alia Miles raised her chin slightly, flashing a provoking smile, "Mrs. Lu, I imagine you’re so stingy that you won’t understand my philanthropic ntality."
"You."
Selena Taylor choked, seeing the light in several salespeople’s eyes, her blood rushing upwards.
She slapped her card on the table, "Triple, I’ll pay triple, wrap the bracelet for ."
The salespeople’s eyes glead brighter.
"Quadruple."
Alia Miles played with the card in her hand, lazily responding, a sly glint in her eye.
"Quintuple."
"Sextuple."
"Septuple."
"Octuple!"
"Nonuple."
"Decuple!"
Selena Taylor’s voice grew sharper, determined to secure the bracelet no matter what.
Alia Miles raised her eyebrows in a sigh.
"Forget it, I can’t be bothered to fight, the bracelet is yours, young ladies, hurry up and wrap it, Mrs. Lu is wealthy enough to pay tenfold for a bracelet; you ought to thank her properly."
The bracelet was worth one hundred thousand, tenfold would be a million.
Hmm, it wasn’t for naught that she deliberately provoked Selena Taylor, making her take a bit of a hit.
This lesson, does it satisfy Brooke?
Alia Miles turned to look at Sarah Moore watching the show from the side and winked at her.
Sarah Moore glanced and smiled knowingly.
Thanking her friend for venting a tiny bit of her frustration.
Selena Taylor cald down when she saw the salespeople preparing the invoice.
Only calming herself did she realize she might have been played by Alia Miles.
She actually paid a million for a bracelet worth only a hundred thousand?
How infuriating!
"Alia Miles, you did it on purpose, didn’t you?"
Alia Miles looked at her, lips curling with a smile-not-a-smile, "What’s wrong, is Mrs. Lu thinking to back down in public? Despite everything, you’re the esteed madam of the Lu family, aren’t you worried about disgracing them?"
"I..."
Selena Taylor choked, angrily glaring at Alia Miles.
Alia Miles smiled brightly, "Although I know you truly have no sha. If you do sothing underhanded, I won’t be surprised."
"You..."
Selena Taylor’s face changed colors, unable to speak from anger.
The salespeople, hearing their exchange, rushed to complete the transaction, fearful Selena Taylor would really go back on her word.
The beep sounded, and Selena Taylor glanced at her phone, seeing the million deduction notification, feeling her heart ache.
She really wanted to say this was against the rules, she no longer wanted the bracelet.
But so wealthy heiresses nearby were watching her, if she backed out now, wouldn’t she be boosting Alia Miles’ dignity?
So suffocating.
Just had to be taken advantage of!
