Mr. Lockwood’s room.

"Dad, how’s your health?"

Craig Landers asked with concern.

"It’s all old problems, no need to worry."

Mr. Lockwood put his book aside and looked at Craig Landers, "But what about you? What have you been busy with lately? You look so haggard."

"Busy looking for a wife."

Craig Landers spoke with a flat tone, as if discussing the weather.

Mr. Lockwood and his wife exchanged a glance, both sighing softly.

"Wayne, you’ve always been a good child who knows your limits, so your mom and I haven’t ddled much since you were little. Now that this has happened, we know you’re hurting. But people need to move forward. If Chloe is still alive, she would have returned. You can’t remain desolate forever."

Mr. Lockwood patiently advised.

Mrs. Landers’ eyes were also red, nodding along beside him.

Craig Landers pressed his thin lips together, not speaking.

Do they all think Leia Quinn is dead?

No, he didn’t believe she was gone.

The image of Sarah Moore flashed through his mind, and his fingers tightened into a fist.

"Alright, it’s getting late. Wayne, you haven’t stayed at ho in a while, so don’t leave tonight. Spend so ti with your parents here."

Mr. Lockwood gazed at his son’s gaunt face and spoke up.

Going back ans being alone, possibly drowning in sorrow with alcohol.

When will he finally move on?

"Okay."

Craig Landers replied softly, leaving the room with Mrs. Landers.

"Wayne, go wash up in your room. I’ll have the maid prepare so late-night snacks for you."

Mrs. Landers seed very pleased, instructing the servant to make snacks.

"No need, mom, I’m not hungry."

Craig Landers, lacking interest, said before turning and entering his own room.

Mrs. Landers opened her mouth, watching Craig Landers’ figure disappear down the hallway, and sighed.

When would her once-cheerful son, who always joked around, co back?

Not far away, Selena Taylor quietly slipped into another room, her eyes glinting.

Craig Landers took a shower and found the room a bit stuffy, so he went out onto the terrace.

The night was cool as water, and the vast city had gone quiet.

Only the scattered starlight along with the warm yellow lamps decorated the world.

Craig Landers leaned against the railing, letting the night breeze brush through his hair and bring a faint chill.

There were soft footsteps behind him; soone had entered.

Craig Landers slightly frowned, thinking of turning around to see if his mother had co in, when he felt a warmth as soone draped a coat over his shoulders.

The faint scent of a woman’s perfu wafted in; without turning around, he already knew who it was.

The person who liked using this perfu was Selena Taylor.

Craig Landers’ expression turned cold.

In his sight, the woman gazed at him softly, calling out, "Wayne."

The woman before him was still as breathtakingly beautiful as ever.

She had once captivated his heart, making him fall head over heels.

And now, this sa face still tugged at his soul.

But it made him want to strangle her!

Craig Landers tossed the coat off his shoulders to the ground, his voice filled with icy chill.

"Sister-in-law, you’re such a flirt, coming to my room so late to pander to , not afraid I’ll kill you to avenge my wife?"

The man’s eyes were full of malice, but Selena Taylor wasn’t afraid of him.

She tilted her face up to look at him, "Wayne, would you really kill ?"

He once loved her so much that he developed a psychological disorder and had to see a doctor.

Even if she did sothing wrong, she believed he wouldn’t have the heart to hurt her.

The warm yellow light cast on her face, exuding a sense of confidence.

Craig Landers clutched his fingers, barely restraining the urge to strangle her, a hint of struggle flashing in his eyes.

"Selena, how can you pretend so nonchalant? You just assu that I..."

Did she think he was still the man who deeply loved her without regret?

If that’s what she thought, then he’d let her think so forever.

Torturing the mind was far more cruel, and he would make her pay the price!

Seeing Craig Landers’ repressed expression, Selena Taylor felt a secret joy in her heart.

She stepped forward and leaned into his embrace.

"Wayne, I know, I know it all. Everything is in the past, let’s return to peace, okay?"

She knew his heart still had a place for her.

For the rest of her life, she wanted his heart all to herself!

The familiar scent of her perfu filled the air, a brief flicker of disgust flashed in Craig Landers’ eyes but quickly disappeared.

He pushed her away, "Sister-in-law, stop being delusional. Please keep your distance from in the future and get out!"

Being scolded, Selena Taylor wasn’t angry with him.

Because she already got the answer she wanted.

"Wayne, the wind is strong at night; go back to your room and rest well. I’ll leave now."

Selena Taylor gently reminded him and then turned to leave.

Craig Landers’ face was cold; he turned and slapped the railing.

Taking a deep breath, he took out his phone and called his assistant.

"Help investigate Sarah Moore of the Moore Group. I want all her information."

He needed to know if this Sarah Moore was indeed Leia Quinn!

...

Hawke Family.

Damon Hawke returned to the old house with the two little ones.

Victoria Don was sitting on the sofa, browsing the news.

Seeing the three return, she quickly got up and walked toward Damon Hawke.

"Tom, you’re finally back? Weren’t you out for socializing? Why are you bringing them along?"

Victoria Don had been uneasy for a while.

Since returning from the police station, she felt both sha and fear, and had been staying in the hospital.

Damon Hawke only visited her once, and that too after her repeated requests, leaving swiftly after a brief look.

She was anxious, feeling he was just brushing her off.

"Auntie, do you live by the sea? Mind your own business."

Dominic Hawke’s little face was stern, making a sarcastic remark.

"Exactly, Dad took us along for dinner, why should he report to you? Dad, let’s go."

Bea made a face at Victoria Don and then took Damon Hawke’s hand to go upstairs.

Dominic Hawke also took Damon Hawke’s other hand.

The two little ones flanked him like two little knights protecting their master.

Damon Hawke found it amusing, happily following their lead.

Behind, Victoria Don was furious and tried to stop Damon Hawke.

"Tom, wait a mont."

But before her hand could touch Damon Hawke’s clothing, the Hawke Family bodyguards were blocking her way.

"Get out of my way!"

Victoria Don was infuriated but could only glare helplessly.

Those pesky little brats, those damned Hawke Family lackeys, she wanted to beat them all up!

Victoria Don’s chest heaved, staring at the now-empty stairwell, her eyes shimring with determination.

Things couldn’t go on like this.

She had returned to Damon Hawke’s side for so long, yet hadn’t gotten close to him.

Tonight, she must beco his woman.

If she beca his woman, she’d have more protection!

Victoria Don returned to her bedroom and took out a bottle from her suitcase.

It contained a sedative.

She had gotten it from Henry Harris as a precaution.

Damon Hawke’s bedroom was always guarded by bodyguards, preventing her from entering.

She needed to take them down to get inside.
