Chapter 579: Suffering in Silence
Of course, Wendy couldn’t imagine that Adrian Zhekova would really target Zoe Silverstone just for Cindy Clarke.
In Wendy’s view, Cindy didn’t have the ability to do so herself.
So now, Wendy wasn’t quite sure herself.
“She didn’t have to co back so soon. She has been in Belfard for so many years, doesn’t she have any savings?” Wendy said, “Besides, with the way she’s going, she might actually win the Cooking Competition.”
“And there will be a prize of 1 million at that ti!” Wendy reminded.
“What do you an?” Joshua Clarke suddenly said in a low voice, “Are you still counting on your sister’s money?”
“No.” Wendy accidentally let it show, and quickly tried to make up for it, “Isn’t it because of the restaurant’s compensation? I can’t co up with the money right now. I just thought that if things work out with Cindy, she could help out for now.”
“Besides, for these five years, she hasn’t been involved in the family at all. I bought the house, and she never contributed to the restaurant,” Wendy said, “So if we do ask her for money to compensate, Dad, I don’t think my request is excessive.”
That’s what Wendy had said before.
And Joshua seed to agree with her at the ti.
So, Wendy still said the sa thing now.
Wendy didn’t notice that Christy Xenos was desperately giving her signals when she heard her say so.
Wendy was looking at Joshua, but who would have thought that his face suddenly changed at this mont.
Joshua stood up abruptly.
He pointed at Wendy and yelled, “You have the nerve to bring that up!”
“Dad, what… what’s wrong with you?” It was rare for Joshua to get angry.
Joshua’s sudden outburst caught Wendy off guard.
“Cindy told everything, and your mother admitted it!” Joshua yelled, “Don’t play dumb with !”
Although Christy Xenos had been stubborn at first.
But later, when Christy Xenos no longer denied the truth, what else was there for Joshua not to know?
It was an admission by Christy Xenos!
“Admitted what?” Wendy was genuinely confused at this point.
Burdened with the restaurant affairs, her mind could not catch up for the mont.
“It was you and your mother who sched against Cindy and sold her!” Joshua said.
Wendy took a deep breath.
She instinctively turned her head to look at Christy Xenos.
Why hadn’t Christy told her about sothing so important!
“Don’t look at your mother, she’s already admitted it!” Joshua snapped.
Seeing Wendy in shock, her first reaction was not to deny it but to ask Christy for confirmation.
This only further solidified the truth of what Cindy had said.
“You’ve already exchanged her for 10 million and brought this life to our family, how can you still have the nerve to ask Cindy for money?” Joshua questioned.
“How can you have the nerve to say that the living expenses were paid by you, and that you bought the house? These were clearly paid for by Cindy!” Joshua said.
“What?” Wendy stood up abruptly, “How did it beco her money?”
“I paid for all this money!” Wendy exclaid.
“Do you think that once the money is in your hands, it is yours?” Joshua said, “These are all things you got in exchange for Cindy. To put it bluntly, they all belong to Cindy!”
“So, don’t bring up the idea of having her pay for the restaurant’s compensation anymore!” Joshua said, “Whether Cindy has money or not, you shouldn’t be thinking about taking advantage of her!”
Wendy’s face turned pale.
This was the first ti she had tasted the bitterness of being robbed of credit and being unable to speak since she was born.
It was clear that she had sacrificed and paid the price, but in the end, everything she had given had beco Cindy’s!
And now, she couldn’t even reveal the truth!
She would never reveal that she had accompanied Mr. Lopez and had a child with him!
It had to be kept a secret!
After all, she still needed to marry a wealthy trust-fund baby with a good family background.
She couldn’t let her past have any stains.
Wendy looked at Christy Xenos.
Seeing Christy shaking her head at her.

“It’s so late, you guys should rest first.” Wendy said softly, “We can talk about anything else tomorrow.”
Since they were all back, there was no way to drive them back to Belfard.
For now, Wendy really didn’t feel like saying anything else.
Without looking at Joshua and Christy, she went back to her room first.
Once the door was closed, Wendy was so angry that she wanted to smash things.
“Cindy!” Wendy shouted angrily, gritting her teeth.
This ti, she was actually played by Cindy.
Although she knew that what Cindy said was not true, she couldn’t refute it.
For the first ti, she suffered such a big loss at the hands of Cindy!
“Haha!” Who would have thought that after five years in Belfard, Cindy would have changed so much!
Did Cindy think that scaring Joshua and Christy back would be enough?
Now she was busy with the restaurant issue, so she couldn’t focus on Cindy’s side.
Once she had settled everything over here, she would definitely go to Belfard herself to et Cindy personally.
She could never let Cindy off so easily!
Wendy was still trembling with anger that her own contribution had been taken away by Cindy.

“Knock knock knock!” There was a sudden knock on the door outside.
“Wendy, it’s ,” Christy Xenos’s voice echoed from outside the door.
Wendy took a deep breath and opened the door with a cold face.
Christy Xenos hurriedly rushed in and closed the door.
“Wendy, are you okay?” Christy asked with concern.
“Cindy, I won’t let her off the hook!” Wendy said through gritted teeth.
“I didn’t expect that dead girl Cindy to have beco so difficult to deal with now,” Christy said, her teeth itching with hatred.
“After all, she ca from crawling and rolling around in Capital City. Those internet celebrity circles are chaotic and highly competitive. If she had no brains, she wouldn’t have been able to achieve her current fa,” Wendy said coldly.
“By the way, how exactly did Cindy describe what happened back then,” Wendy said, “Tell the details. Try to reproduce her words as much as possible, don’t add anything yourself, and don’t omit anything.”
Christy thought for a mont, then sat down on the small sofa in Wendy’s room and began telling her what happened.
“It’s been five years, even if she says whatever she wants, there’s no use without evidence. Moreover, who would trace back to five years ago for the truth after all this ti? Even if soone really wanted to find evidence from back then, it’s been five years already, where would they even begin to look?”
