Chapter 1191: Chapter 1191: You Better Take Care of Yourself First_1 Chapter 1191: Chapter 1191: You Better Take Care of Yourself First_1 Peggy Lewis was dumbstruck when she saw what her father, Mr.

Lewis, was up to.

“Dad….” Peggy Lewis thought that Lyke Zhekova couldn’t handle his liquor very well.

After all, last ti, Lyke Zhekova was drunk after just a little drink.

“He can’t hold his liquor,” Peggy Lewis stated, even though she knew her father’s tolerance was not that much better.

“If his tolerance is low, he should drink less, just until he can’t drink anymore.

I don’t insist people keep drinking when they’re already drunk,” Mr.

...

Lewis snapped back, seemingly a little jealous.

Peggy Lewis was more concerned about Lyke Zhekova’s alcohol tolerance, but she seed to pay no mind to her father’s needs.

“You take it easy too.” Peggy Lewis comnted, “You need to cut back on your drinking too.”

Receiving concern from Peggy Lewis cheered Mr.

Lewis up again, “Don’t worry; I know my limits.”

Peggy Lewis silently wondered what sort of understanding he claims to have.

With a helpless sigh, Peggy Lewis covertly advised Lyke Zhekova: “If my dad wants you to drink, don’t.”

Lyke Zhekova was smart and adaptable; surely he could handle Mr.

Lewis.

“Drink less and it’ll result in my dad drinking less too,” Peggy Lewis whispered.

“Okay.” Lyke Zhekova nodded.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.

After all, this was his future father-in-law.

No matter what, Lyke Zhekova couldn’t refuse too much.

In the end, Mr.

Lewis still poured him plenty of alcohol.

Peggy Lewis watched helplessly from the side, sighing.

Despite her attempts, she couldn’t stop it.

Finally, after dinner, Lyke Zhekova’s eyes were already glazed over.

However, he still managed to sit straight, and as long as he didn’t speak, no one could tell that he was drunk.

Mr.

Lewis, on the other hand, started slurring his words and couldn’t stop talking.

Normally, Mr.

Lewis was a chatterbox to the point of giving Mrs.

Lewis a headache and sotis even annoying her.

His chatter intensified once he was drunk.

Mrs.

Lewis, who didn’t know much about Lyke Zhekova’s drinking habits, mistakenly thought that he was completely sober.

Just look at him sitting so upright.

Looking at Mr.

Lewis, who was teetering and swaying from drinking too much, she couldn’t help but feel indignant.

Was that his way of testing others?

He should examine himself first!

In her frustration, Mrs.

Lewis went into the kitchen and made two cups of honey water.

She handed one to Peggy Lewis: “Give this to Lyke for him to drink.

I can see he’s okay, but he must be feeling uncomfortable after drinking.

This should help.”

Peggy Lewis nodded and took the cup.

“Don’t be fooled by appearances.

He’s actually pretty drunk.” Peggy Lewis admitted, feeling rather helpless.

“He seems to be sitting quite upright though.” Mrs.

Lewis responded.

“He holds his liquor well: he doesn’t get rowdy when he’s drunk and if he has the strength, he can even take a shower and go to bed on his own.

He just might not rember anything the next day,” Peggy Lewis explained, “Especially in front of others, even if he’s drunk, he can compose himself and hide drunkenness.”

“Wow, his self-control is impressive.” Mrs.

Lewis was amazed.

Upon finishing her complint, Mrs.

Lewis suddenly realized sothing was off.

She turned to Peggy Lewis: “Wait, how do you know so much about his drinking habits?

Even down to the fact that he can take a shower before he goes to bed?”

Peggy Lewis: “…”

She had accidentally let slip.

In a hurry to explain, Peggy Lewis said: “Once before, he drank at a social gathering and couldn’t drive, so I had to go pick him up.

That’s why I know.”

“As for his shower before bed, it was sothing he told over Whatsapp.” Peggy Lewis wasn’t lying; she just left out a part of the whole truth.

Indeed, Peggy Lewis had picked up Lyke Zhekova that ti, she was also inford he had taken a shower through Whatsapp.

What she left out was the fact that she was right next door to Lyke Zhekova’s bedroom at that ti.

Peggy Lewis didn’t divulge this piece of information to Mrs.

Lewis.

Mrs.

Lewis was successfully fooled by Peggy Lewis and had no suspicions.

Mrs.

Lewis watched Peggy Lewis, holding the honey water up to Lyke Zhekova’s mouth, “Co on, drink so honey water.”

Lyke Zhekova nodded, not daring to move too quickly, fearing the dizziness would lead to a headache.

Peggy Lewis held the cup without loosening her grip, making sure he drank all the water.

“How’re you feeling?

Uncomfortable anywhere?” Peggy Lewis asked.

“Headache,” Lyke Zhekova’s voice was a little hoarse, “Dry mouth, sore throat.”

Mrs.

Lewis watched Lyke Zhekova as if he were so sort of exhibit.

She thought to herself, his drinking manners were amazing.

Just from his hoarse voice, she could tell how he was feeling.

Only then did Mrs.

Lewis believe that Lyke Zhekova was sincerely drunk.

Even in this state though he did not beco rowdy or talkative.

He stayed quiet.

At most, he squinted his eyes expressing discomfort.

Beyond that, he showed no other signs.

If you did not witness these cues, you wouldn’t be able to tell that Lyke Zhekova was actually drunk.

Then, when looking at Mr.

Lewis despite his constant chatter, at least he wasn’t becoming rowdy or disorderly.

Initially, just looking at Mr.

Lewis, his drinking habits seed tolerable.

However, after comparing Mr.

Lewis and Lyke Zhekova, Mrs.

Lewis imdiately developed a distaste for Mr.

Lewis’s drinking habits.

Really?

Really?

He was the one scrutinizing Lyke Zhekova’s drinking habits?

Mrs.

Lewis quickly fed Mr.

Lewis so honey water, took her mobile phone out without a second thought and started filming.

She explained as she recorded, “Look at you, Mr.

Lewis, questioning Lyke’s drinking habits.

Look at you drunk, and then look at Lyke when he’s drunk.

Don’t think that Lyke isn’t drunk because he doesn’t act drunk, I’ll guarantee that he is.

Look at his drinking behavior, you should start taking care of yourself, huh!”

Biting back laughter, Peggy Lewis remarked, “Let them sit here for now, I’ll help you clean up.”

“No need, just take him with you, I can clean up the rest,” Mrs.

Lewis said.

She never made Peggy Lewis do any chores since she was a child.

Peggy Lewis had only cooked for them once before, and it was Mrs.

Lewis’ first ti experiencing her cooking.

Peggy Lewis just cooked a few dishes and Mrs.

Lewis wanted to taste them specifically, which is why she agreed.

Mrs.

Lewis always believed that as a woman, one should enjoy her ti as a daughter under her parents care.

Once she gets married and becos a wife, a mother, and a daughter-in-law, unnecessary things arise.

There are many sacrifices to be made.

In this society, there are many injustices won face.

Yet it seems to be accepted and even expected.

This is how it should be.

If it’s not done this way, then it’s considered wrong and people around you, not just strangers, will bla you.

To make life tolerable, won have to conform to a societal norm they may not completely agree with.

Therefore, Mrs.

Lewis wanted Peggy Lewis to live as comfortably as possible before getting married.

Fortunately, Peggy Lewis was lucky enough to be with Lyke Zhekova.

He had the capability but didn’t feel entitled to an expectation for her to sacrifice more.

Mrs.

Lewis felt especially comforted and happy for Peggy Lewis.

“Mom, there’s so much to clean.

How could I let you do it all by yourself?” Despite only being four people, Mrs.

Lewis prepared a table full of dishes to show her welcoming spirit towards Lyke Zhekova.
