58 Chapter 58: Shocking revelation

Alex frowned slightly but managed to remain composed. He fought against the beast with powers that shouldn’t even belong to him in the first place. Hiding such a massive secret from the governnt will be considered a serious cri. Even if he said otherwise the hunters there, as long as their accounts don’t match it will lead to investigations that will blow his cover.

“I guess I have finally found myself in a tight position... Sad” Alex mumbled but didn’t say much.

He still had a month to co up with a way to cover things up so, Alex didn’t bother saying anything. The silence continued until they returned to the military academy and their residential area. Andrew and the other maids were already lined up outside the door to receive him.

While Alex didn’t think too much about it he noticed they look at him in a different light now. It was like a celebrity looking at another celebrity as a better celebrity. The look in their eyes was not that of respect or admiration, it was worship.

Unknown to Alex, news of his battle has spread across the world already. A D-rated human of the Briggs family battled a mutant demon bat who was a step away from becoming a tiger threat level beast and won! Tiger level beasts are beings capable of facing mid-tier Deviants and humans, yet he managed to kill sothing close to that level. The thought of that sent chills down the spine of all those who heard it. They wondered how he managed to do it!

While the world believed he is a powerless human, the Arican governnt and a handful of people knew he is an artificial deviant. They were under pressure to give detailed information on how Alex managed to achieve this so Alex knew It is just a matter of ti before they co for him too.

He allowed Tracy and Silver to escort him to his room and on his bed, he saw the sacred texts of the demon kin secret technique, recorded in a golden scroll. Any normal person would be delighted by this but Alex was pissed.

For him to be gifted the information he needed to learn the second form of demon kin secret technique they had to wait this long. He knew this is the cover up story they have agreed on. The demon kin secret technique is strong and it is possible a powerless human who has mastered the second form would be able to win against the beast with the help of “an experienced hunter”. His role will be downplayed and the experienced hunter will be rewarded!

” Bastards!” Alex growled like a beast.

Tracy and Silver understood why he should be pissed. The reward for his hard work will be gifted to another man, any person would be pissed but what these people didn’t know is that Alex was not worthed about the glory or anything. His problem originated with the existence of Jason Brown, a man who he tried to kill but now the man will not only be allowed to live but he will be seen as a hero. Seeing your enemy rise in power and fa is not sothing anyone would want, especially soone like Alex.

“Does she know?” Alex suddenly asked, catching Tracy and Silver off-guard.

“I had had to tell Tracy, she is the only reason the governnt is yet to conclude that you have two deviant abilities... We need her if we wish to stay under the radar from now on... You drew too much attention” Silver said with a bitter smile and Alex simply nodded in response.

He already suspected sothing like this would happen so he wasn’t moved by it. He turned to face Tracy and with a cold look on his face, his eyes turned black and the invisible power began leaking out of his body.

Suddenly everything in the room began floating, drifting around like astronauts in space. Seeing this, Tracy was extrely excited and fascinated by the site. She walked around Alex in circles with an excited look on her face, making it look like she was eyeing her favorite toy.

“Our dreams of breaking out of our families began with and Tracy... We badly wanted it but we lacked the strength to do it... But with you here we can definitely succeed. I am sure of it!” Silver kept explaining and Alex only nodded in response.

“Your dormant genes would have granted you the specialist ability... When you were forcefully given a specialist ability, it also awakened your real power which is gravity manipulation... Fascinating!” Tracy sounded excited.

“Am I the only one like this? If that’s is the case, shouldn’t all those who get an artificial ability have two deviant powers?” Alex asked and Tracy shook her head in response.

“When the blue cots fell, it mutated the genes of humans... Those who got mutated successfully beca Deviants while the ones who failed beca powerless humans.... A faliure is a failure, their deviant powers cannot be revived through the process you went through” Tracy responded and Alex frowned.

“You still haven’t explained how I am different” Alex said.

“It is not you that is different, it is the Briggs... Even before the birth of the very first deviant, the Briggs practiced the demon-kin secret arts and their physical abilities were at the superhuman level... I know it may sound strange but I believe the Briggs did not fail to evolve, it is just your secret technique that sohow suppressed your evolution... So no, you didn’t fail to evolve, you just didn’t evolve... The project power simply gave your genes the little boost it needed to break through the restrictions and evolve” Tracy explained, leaving Alex stunned.
