309 Breakthrough

Alex stood with a stern look on his face as he stood at the entrance of the strange hallway that looked like a furnace. Beside him, Sharyn stood and held his hand tightly with hints of fear in her eyes. She turned her gaze to the hallway and back to Alex as hints of worry could be seen.

“The Ascension ceremony of the deity race usually has a high mortality rate. Not many survive it, and that’s why not many take part in it. That’s why only a handful of people have the will to go through this ceremony and get past the golden core stage.

“Your injuries are due to the fact that your golden core has been damaged... the only way around this injury is to ascend to a greater level and allow your body to form a new core to replace the damaged core” the elder said with a deep frown.

“But his body is weak now. His chances of dying are higher than that of the average person. Isn’t there another way?” Sharyn complained while holding Alex’s hand tightly.

She wanted to fix his problem but she didn’t think he would have to risk his life just to do that.

“It’s okay. I didn’t co this far just to die here” Alex shrugged his shoulders and threw out the danger as if it was nothing.

He casually reached out to the elder’s hands and took the grey stone in his hand and looked at it. Apparently, when practicing the deity secret technique, one gains the properties of a real star and the core is one of them.

To survive Kyle of the shaman race and his suicide fleet, Alex needed to use a suicide attack and ended up detonating his core, leaving his body incomplete. If it wasn’t for his other powers which make him not rely on the core to live, he would have been dead already.

Pushing the grey stone into the diamond-shaped hole, his body seed to absorb the grey stone and almost instantly, flesh grew and covered up the hole.

.....

“Now all you need to do is walk to the other end of this hallway and you will achieve ultimate power” The elder said with strange eyes which made Alex frown.

From his words, Alex felt like he was speaking to Emperor Qikath who had found a way to leave a scare in Alex’s mind. Deep down he both feared and respected the man. Even though he was the one who won the fight, he also felt like he lost. In his honest opinion, there are no winners.

Just one alive and the other dead.

Alex considered the dead more fortunate. At least emperor Qikath can rest now, but there is no rest for him. From one battle to the next, the fight for survival never stops. What is even more annoying is that this scar keeps popping up in his mind whenever it gets the chance.

Alex walked forward and stepped into the hallway. The mont his legs touched the floor, his golden statue martial technique began reacting to the environnt, and almost instantly Alex was consud by his power.

Boom!

Fierce golden flas exploded from his body surging dangerously but even then Alex felt cold. He felt cold seeping into his body, threatening to freeze him.

Shit!

Alex muttered as he felt his joints beco stiff. His eyes narrowed and his fist clenched as Alex threw his hands back and strode forward with an indifferent look on his face.

He could feel the cold seeping into his veins, circulate across his body and finally et at the core of his chest. With each successful circulation, he felt a chunk of his strength drained.

“He’s in pain but he’s not willing to show. You found yourself a real man, little Sharyn” The elder said with a strange smile on his face. It seed like he wasn’t just testing Alex’s limits but he also wanted to assess the man his granddaughter had chosen.

Sharyn ignored her grandfather’s words and watched Alex proceed with hints of worry in her eyes.

After walking for over three minutes, Alex reached the end of the yellow corridor he stopped right in front of a fiery golden barrier and heard a voice behind him.

“Allow your body to absorb the power of the gold flas till saturation. Once it reaches its saturation point, if your potential is strong, you can upgrade your core to the power of the blue flas and cross over!” the elder’s voice rang in Alex’s ears, causing him to frown.

Hmph!

Alex suddenly pulled out one hand and threw it forward. A strong suction force erupted from his body, surging like an endless sea as it dragged in the golden flas greedily!

“What the hell is he doing?”

Seeing this everyone was terrified as this has never happened before. Alex wasn’t just letting his body absorb the power of the golden sun, he was forcefully pulling the power into his body, filling him with power almost instantly.

Bam!

Golden flas erupted from Alex’s body rapidly as he controlled the golden fla within his body, forcing it to circulate and refine his skin, body, and soul.

“This is why he is called the absolute... he always does things differently,” Sharyn said with a smile.

Everyone stood and watched each other with strange eyes as they watched Alex consu more and more power. His body right now was completely golden like that of a deity but even then he was unwilling to move. Fierce fla twirled around his chest like a ring.

Xiu!

Alex’s eyes widened as power surged from it and he raced forward, smashing into the yellow barrier without hesitation.

Bang!

Glass-shattering sounds filled the air and the yellow barrier crumbled. Alex’s body was quickly consud by blue flas the mont he fell in. His eyes widened as he felt strong pain but for only a while.

This power is mine!

Boom!

The entire realm began trembling as a more powerful suction force erupted from his body. He ant every word when he claid this power as his!
