Chapter 14: Matter absorption

“What’s so funny?” Alex asked with a smile.

“Ooh... Nothing...” Tracy replied as they both walked into an elevator and without waiting for the colonel and his guards they set off for the training grounds of the Voltz group.

“Damn those wretched kids!” Colonel Reeves cursed the mont the elevator doors closed without giving him a chance to join them!

They dare treat a colonel this way?

“The question you asked earlier... Your ability is called matter absorption... It allows you to absorb the properties of any object you touch... A specialist category ability...” Tracy said indifferently.

The mont they were out of view, the atmosphere between the two changed greatly.

“You bastards used a specialist category mutation on ? Even when the chances of soone’s genes having traits of specialist quirks is rare! This is no different from throwing into a pit with countless mutated beasts with no way of defending myself and hoping I will climb out alive!” Alex said coldly with clenched fists.

Both of them were leaning at the two ends of the elevator gazing at each other coldly. The original friendly air around them was gone and all that was left now was rivalry and bitterness.

“But you survived! I see no reason why you should keep whining about it like a baby! By the way, your family patriarch agreed to this experint! You should bla the Briggs for this not us... Do you think I would even bother wasting precious materials on a Briggs? Don’t flatter yourself” Tracy snorted disdainfully while she spoke.

Obviously, the relationship between the big four has never been good. They saw each other as rivals and only cooperate when both sides have sothing to gain. What Alex is unable to figure out is what sort of deal the two families made before bringing him over here. What do they stand to gain?

“And don’t even ask how this is happening, I was also left out on the deal even though my discovery is been made use of!” Tracy clenched her fists so hard it turned red. If she had long nails, she would have dug into her skin with her nails by now.

“Hey there... Dont tell this little girl is pissed off because her family is sharing her toys without her consent” Alex sneered and Tracy’s face turned red with anger!

She quickly tried to reach for sothing in her lab coat but Alec was faster, his body moved so fast, Tracy had barely moved before he reached her!

Bam!

Grabbing her by the neck, Alex slamd her on the wall before pulling her off the ground and tossing her to the other end of the small room!

Bang!

“The Ainsworth family may be smart but in situations like this when both sides are forced into a direct confrontation, the Briggs will always co out on top... Never forget that!” Alex said with a fierce glare in his eyes.

Tracy coughed briefly and said nothing more as she got to her feet and arranged her hair.

Ding!

The bell-like sound rang and the elevator doors opened up. Alex walked out of the room, only to find himself in sothing that looks like a modern version of the Roman Colosseum.

He walked down the stairs in shock and just like before he felt eyes pinned on him but it wasn’t from behind.

“Get down there and get ready... We need to study your abilities for now” The sa familiar and infuriating voice echoed around the Colosseum but Alex didn’t bother looking up and just kept walking down the stairs without even flinching.

At the arena, there were different materials placed on podiums and at the other end of the arena was what seed like a slightly bigger exoskeleton suit, driven by soone.

The enemy was over 7ft tall with a humanoid figure. Its right hand was equipped with an energy blade while the left hand was an enhanced sub-machine gun attached to it. Gazing at this Alex frowned at the Voltz logo which is a blue lightning bolt at the center of its chest.

“This looks like a cheap version of the Robocop movie... You are fucking billionaires, I suggest you invest more in your toys... I hate breaking cheap things!” Alex said as he placed his hand on the iron ball on one of the podiums.

At first, it felt strange. It felt like his hand could sink into the iron ball even though it is solid. When he tried pushing his hand deeper, he could feel his body absorbing the properties of the black ball.

Slowly his entire skin was coated in black tal until his entire body was covered, excluding his clothes.

“That is the Tosmil... The third strongest tal in the world... That little ball in your hand can be sold for close to half a million... In dollars” Tracy said coldly.

“Just half a million? Cute” Alex said mockingly!

Peng!

Smashing his fists together he could tell his body has absorbed the properties of the Tosmil and can be said to be as hard as it but what was more surprising was that this transformation in no way affects his speed. He knew he weighed a lot right now but he doesn’t feel the weight.

“Interesting” Alex comnted in a low tone.

Even for soone like him who deeply hates everything that has to do with deviants he couldn’t help but confess that such an ability is qualified to be used by soone as amazing as him.
