While the giant sli can't move, it can create tentacles that it uses to attack anything that cos close to it. All in all, it won't be an easy enemy to defeat.
Even Kelvin couldn't defeat it reasonably. If he used Life Steal, he would be able to drain its life force and kill it. But killing it that way will make it obvious that he has another ability that is not related to shapeshifting.
He could only use his Solid Material Shifting ability while the sli was immune to most physical damage. So he was helpless against the sli.
The best that he was able to do was pass through its body and escape. The acid burned his skin, but it couldn't kill him.
He was good as new after healing himself. But he wasn't happy with the way things turned out.
He said to himself, "It looks like I will suffer in this part of the obstacle course."
The black crow also believed so. It said to the audience, "It looks like Augustus has finally t his match. But I am still impressed with the way he passed this obstacle."
"Others would pass an obstacle as if they were escaping for their lives, but he passed through a giant acidic sli as if he was going on a stroll. I hope he doesn't feel pain because if he does, that has to hurt."
Then the black crow began to comnt on other players. The one player he spoke a lot about was cha Man.
cha Man isn't fast. He is just a C rank super. His ability requires both stamina and focus, so most of his power has been focused there.
His lack of speed ant that he was always trailing behind the other players. But his speed didn't hinder him from clearing obstacles.
His ability gives him versatility, so he usually has the right tool for every situation. This has helped him pass all 19 previous gas without any problem.
It looked like he would pass this ga without any issue too because his grenade launcher was working wonders. It was especially effective against the slim monster.
The giant sli has literally blocked the way for the players. If they don't want a face full of acid, then they have to destroy it.
Many of the players can't destroy it. So of them with force fields were able to pass through it without much problem. But the rest were stuck. It didn't help that Augustus had aalo increased the difficulty of the obstacle for so of them.
Soone like Butcher and Charr would fail here. Only supers with elental abilities and energy attacks could cause significant damage to the giant sli.
cha Man's grenade launcher was working because it was explosive and could cause a wide area of damage to the sli. What's more, the size of the sli and its inability to move ant that he couldn't miss.
Only he and Evil Eye were able to deal with the sli effectively. Even then, it was slow work.
The problem is that the giant Sli is too big. They were able to damage it and cause it to shrink, but it will take a lot of ti before they can finally vanquish it.
This prospect made cha Man begin to consider other options. He thought to himself, "Should I summon a tank or a rocket launcher?"
If he had a tank, he might be able to force his way through the sli. The tank will be damaged, but he will be safe.
If he had a rocket launcher, he would be able to create bigger explosions. With bigger explosions, the sli will die faster.
A rocket launcher is the best option because it will take less ti to summon than that of a tank. It might actually cost him ten tis more ti and energy to summon the armored tank.
Despite this difference, it will also take him ti to summon a rocket launcher. It might take up to a minute.
In that one minute, he won't be able to attack at all. But if he continues to use the grenade launcher, he should be able to destroy the sli in one minute too.
So the rocket launcher won't help him much in shortening the ti it will take to destroy this sli. Even so, he still decided to remove the grenade launcher and summon the rocket launcher.
He did so because of the two giant slis that he will encounter after this one. If the obstacle course follows the sa pattern as before, there should be two more giant slis after this one. So the rocket launcher will be helpful for it.
This decision delayed him. It made him anxious because he saw that Augustus had passed the eighth and ninth obstacles in a row.
While he was still fiddling with the seventh obstacle, Augustus had moved in to the tenth. This ant that while he would earn the full ga points for destroying this giant sli, Augustus had already earned more than him by passing three obstacles while he hadn't destroyed one. So he was anxious.
But he is sure that he has made the right decision. He is especially sure of it after seeing what the eighth and ninth obstacles could do.
He said to himself, "Maybe I should summon a fighter jet.
He was only joking, of course. He could, but he would never summon sothing so draining in a race. Both the armored tank and fighter jet would not only take a lot of ti to summon; they would take a lot of energy to summon and maintain.
So the efficient choice is still the rocket launcher. But he couldn't help but be jealous when he saw Evil Eye destroy the giant sli and move on to the next.
Evil Eye's ability doesn't care about size. If he can see sothing, she can attack it.
The size of the giant sli only ant that she had to consu more ntal energy to use her ability. But in exchange, it was evaporating all over.
She destroyed it and moved on to the eighth obstacle. This one was a giant sli too. But it had the ability to launch acid balls at the players at a fast speed.
So the giant sli wasn't just sitting by taking damage from those who could use ranged attacks. It could also perform deadly ranged attacks of its own.
This ti Evil Eye didn't have it easy. She has to constantly move around to dodge the attacks while keeping her eye on the giant sli.
At this point, those who could only perform close-range attacks and didn't have excellent defense have been eliminated.
Three people who didn't know what was good for them and refused to surrender died when they tried to force their way through the giant sli.
anwhile, 12 other players had to surrender because of the giant sli. This reduced the number of players from 31 to 16.
The black crow was disappointed when it saw this. It said, "It hasn't even been five minutes yet. What losers."
But he spoke too early.
It was difficult to dodge the acid balls, but it was possible. However, that wasn't the case at the ninth obstacle.
The acid balls that the giant sli of the ninth obstacle was throwing could explode in the air. This way, it scattered its acid in a large area.
It was as if the acid balls were grenades scattering acid shrapnels around. This attack imdiately injured Evil Eye.
The ball flew over, and even though she managed to dodge it, acid still got onto her body after the acid ball exploded.
The acid fell on her left arm, the side of her torso, and her left leg. It chewed through her clothes and flesh until it reached the bone. Fortunately, she didn't need her arms and legs to attack.
Even then, if not for the large range of attack of her ability, she would have died. It was because she could stand afar that she could dodge most of the acid splash and eventually kill the giant sli.
Many players were eliminated at this point again. Their bodies were turned into sludge by the acid. They died permanently.
It was a tragic death. The audience didn't have the mood to cheer because they understood how serious things were. Their hearts were in their throats, and they were feeling anxious.
But the black crow laughed when it saw this. It said, "Looks like I was wrong. Augustus is not the only one who will suffer in this round."
Only those with special ans to defend themselves didn't suffer. Even cha Man suffered. He just didn't suffer much because of his rocket launcher.
His rocket launcher blew the giant slim to pieces after ten rounds. During the process, it couldn't attack him because it was constantly being bombarded. Only its first attack had damaged him.
cha Man, Evil Eye, and ten others managed to make it to the tenth obstacle. But many of them couldn't go any further.
