Fortunately, the Lignum world had a lot of bodies. It is one of the advantages of a peaceful world full of plants. They had a lot of food, enough to support a large population, and they had leaders that could enforce world peace.
So even though the Yggdrasil army was making progress daily, it was slow and costly.
They had to kill an unending stream of defenders throwing themselves at them. Then they had to walk over all the corpses they created. It was not easy.
However, things were going well for Kelvin. He had made great contributions to the army, and his efforts were recognized. They even increased his squad by ten tis and assigned 1,000 soldiers to him.
He was in a good mood, which ant it was ti for Wrath to destroy it.
She said, "Things don't look good."
He asked, "Why do you say that?"
She replied, "Because there is a god with us. If a god cos on an expedition, then it ans that there is a god on this world. The presence of a god on this world ans that there is a real chance that we will lose and be wiped out."
He didn't like the sound of that. But there was nothing he could do about it. His strength has increased rapidly, but it is only at the B-rank. He can't influence the outco of battles between demigods, much less that of true gods.
So he said, "There is only one thing I can do. That is to do my part in the army. I can only make my contributions while trusting that others would make theirs."
Then he asked, "Besides, do you really think Aganju could lose?"
She sighed and said, "He is strong. But on the battlefield, anything is possible."
Kelvin chuckled and said, "I guess we need to have faith in Aganju."
He had reached his destination, so he focused on what he was trying to do.
He and his squad of 1,000 are trying to kill a giant worm. The giant worm is being protected by royal elves. These elves can animate plants and turn them into treants.
Considering that the whole realm is full of giant trees, it ant that they had a large supply of strong soldiers to use in battle.
That wasn't the most difficult thing about them. The reason why they are such a nuisance is because the growth of trees is very quick in the Lignum world.
The rate of growth of plant life and their coverage of the whole world is why the world is called the Lignum world. It is literally Tree World.
On Lignum, a 50-ter tree can be ford from a seed in a single day. This ensures that Lignum is always covered by trees. It also ans that the royal elves will always have soldiers.
When the fact that the ancient trees in the forest have up to SSD-rank power is considered, the reason why the group of elves with vines for hair were designated as the royal kind of elves is clear.
These royal elves are the strongest obstacles for the Yggdrasil army to overco. That is apart from their demigods, of course.
A single royal elf can hold back a squad of 1,000 soldiers. This is especially the case right now.
There is a single elf standing on top of a giant purple worm. The worm has only part of its body above the ground. Most of it is underground.
The part that is above ground is about 10 ters thick and 30 ters long. It has a tough layer of hardened carapace protecting it. But the best protection it has right now is the royal elf.
The royal elf has turned every tree around into a giant soldier. The smallest treant is at least 20 ters tall. These are the ones that were created from trees planted in less than a day.
The formidable treants are much bigger and hit harder. They are at least 50 ters tall and have S-rank power.
All of them surrounded the purple worm and protected it even at the cost of their lives. It would not be easy to take them down. They would also need to be killed faster than the royal elf can create new ones.
Kelvin took all of these in and asked himself, "Is it even worth it?"
He is considering if it is worth it to change his objectives from spiked trees to these worms.
The worm's reward is fifteen tis the rit points of spiked trees, but will also be far more difficult to destroy.
Command has reevaluated the battlefield significance of the giant worms and increased the reward for destroying them by 5,000 rit points. It is because in the absence of the spiked trees stealing their kills, the giant worms have been able to truly shine.
The acid rain they produce affects anything tallic and inorganic. It has a massive significance because it has led to the destruction of many cloaks and armors.
Their presence in any place ans that the armor and weapons of the soldiers in that area will be scrapped. This has beco extra deadly thanks to the biological weapon that the elves have deployed recently.
So the reward for destroying the worms has increased. Unfortunately, not many of them have been destroyed. The royal elves are just too strong and have an environnt that enhances their strength.
He looked away from the giant worm to the red mushroom growing between his legs and stomped on it.
Then he asked Wrath, "What do you think I should do? Should I try to take the worm or go looking for the red mushrooms?"
Wrath replied, "Take this worm first. Let's see how fast you can bring it down. Then we will compare it with how fast you destroy the mushrooms."
He nodded in agreent and said, "It is a good idea. But I don't think it will be close. I destroy the mushrooms easily and quickly."
