He laughed and said, "I can't believe that I have been living onto of such a dangerous being. I must have had the guts of a fool."

Wrath reassured him, "You don't have to worry about that. There is a reason why demigods create cities in the first place. They won't just casually destroy their cities, and they won't allow others to destroy it either."

He wanted to believe her, but he felt that he could base his safety on a hunch. So he asked her, "Are you sure?"

She replied, "I'm sure. Demigods need faith and popularity in order to beco gods. They need faith from humans, so they created cities for humans."

"Right now they can't refine faith, but they can store popularity. The more popular their city is, the more popularity they earn per day. So they need mortals."

"What popularity they store will eventually be used by them when we set up a Pantheon for Earth-11. Until then, no demigod will try to destroy the city of another demigod."

"If they try when there is a pantheon, you as the god-king will stop them. I am sure you will have rules forbidding it because you too will need mortals. So they won't try it anyway. At least, not without the fear of punishnt."

"So you have nothing to worry about. The demigod in the city won't destroy the city it built. Have you ever heard of any city being destroyed by a demigod?"

He thought about it and said, "I have heard of cities being destroyed, but it was never ntioned that a demigod did it. Then again, very little is said about demigods online, so that statistic is unreliable."

Wrath said, "Trust . There is nothing to worry about. Those cities that were destroyed were only destroyed when they lost the support of their demigod."

Kelvin was still skeptical. He asked, "Why would they lose the support of their demigod?"

"Because those demigods died," ca the answer. "You heard . Demigods can die too. They are not infallible. So it is a good thing that your demigod is still alive. It ans your city will still remain standing for the nearest future."

Kelvin listened attentively. He chose to believe her because while he didn't trust their relationship, he trusted her knowledge.

She was far more knowledgeable than him. And after giving it so thought, he realized that only two gacities like New London had ever been destroyed and reverted back to an abandoned city ravaged by the incursion.

There had also been no news about powerful giant creatures destroying a city. What caused those gacities to be destroyed were the incursion fractures. They started appearing all over in the cities and were destroying it little by little.

The collision of worlds caused buildings to fracture. The ejection of otherworldly energy from the incursion portals caused both organic and inorganic matter to mutate.

Strange-colored crystals began appearing all over the city, and animals tainted by the energy beca incursion zombies, who also appeared from within the city.

In the first city, it was until incursion zombies from the outside of the city began flooding the city that the leaders of the city announced an evacuation. As for the second city, it was a day after the incursion portals started to appear within the city that they called for an evacuation.

Kelvin brought out his phone and checked all of this to make sure he was right. It was because, even though he trusted her knowledge, he didn't trust her with his life. So he had to confirm that what happened was as she had said.

Wrath sighed as he looked through his phone. But she didn't say anything about his need to confirm what she said. She waited patiently for him to finish.

When he was done, he said, "You're right. There is no need to be afraid. If the demigod didn't kill before, it is unlikely that they will kill now."

Wrath clapped and said, "That's the spirit. Now let's leave this boring place."

He nodded and began walking toward the city again. He didn't activate his Extraordinary Perception ability even after his bluster. Like they say, ignorance is bliss.

But he understood that he couldn't remain in ignorance forever, or the ability would go to waste. He had to use it to protect his life, so he had to use it.

However, understanding is one thing; putting it into action is another. He kept saying, "I'm not afraid. I can do it. It is just a little headache, no more."

But he knew that the effects of using that ability were more than just a little headache. He knew that the effect would be full-blown panic, ntal and thought stagnation, the engagent of over-the-top fight-or-flight mode, and finally, physical paralysis.

A little headache is just putting it lightly. If he wasn't so paralyzed, he would have peed himself. So he didn't activate the ability as he entered the city.

He didn't activate it when he got into a cab. He didn't activate it when he dropped close to his safe house. He delayed it as he went to his safe house, changed his clothes, changed his identity, ca out of another entrance as a new person, took another cab ho, and entered his apartnt.

He kept lying to himself that it was just a little headache. When he got into his house, he made sure to lock the door very well. He even checked the windows and made sure they were secured.

But that didn't reassure him. He kept pacing about while wrestling ntally with the thought of activating the Extraordinary Perception ability.

He didn't want to see that dangerous thing, but if he didn't see it, how would he know if it was coming for him? Not that it would help much, but at least he would be able to resist if he knew it was coming.

He didn't know what to do, so he said, "Maybe I shouldn't have co here."
