Chapter 63: Are You Even Human?

Barbara panicked. She had never been so flustered in her life.

She possessed an extrely high IQ and formidable logical reasoning skills. Her innate photographic mory amplified these abilities to the extre, allowing her to always find a solution in complex situations.

In her view, there was no problem in the world that couldn't be solved.

But the mont Luke dropped his pants and revealed his underwear, her mind went blank. Her thoughts were hollow; she was completely shell-shocked.

"I surrender, I was wrong. Put your pants back on."

Luke tossed the girl onto the bed and pinned her hands down to stop her from moving.

"The room is paid for, and the pants are off. Now you say no? What were you doing earlier!"

"I, Luke, never force anyone, but I won't refuse a gift delivered right to my door."

"You brought this entirely upon yourself."

Muffled sounds echoed in the room. Before long, inappropriate gasps and panting followed. A passing maid paused to listen at the wall for a mont before walking away with a knowing smile.

Two hours later.

On the spacious bed.

A refreshed Luke sipped red wine and enjoyed a rare mont of leisure, eating seafood.

Barbara Gordon sat beside him, covered only by a towel. Her shoulders and thighs were completely exposed. Perhaps due to the vigorous activity, her skin was flushed crimson, glistening brightly under the light.

The girl sat sideways on the bed, her legs together. She didn't speak, just glared at Luke with eyes fierce enough to eat him alive.

Luke speared a piece of oyster at, covered in sauce, and held it out to her.

"The taste is good. Want a piece?"

"Get lost!"

Luke shrugged, put the oyster in his mouth, closed his eyes, and savored it.

Barbara's eyes darted around. She slowly moved toward the nightstand and picked up the table lamp. Just as she prepared to strike, Luke's voice rang out.

"I suggest you don't take any impractical action. Your strength is weak, and your technique isn't good enough. The probability of taking down is only one percent. The ninety-nine percent chance is that you'll anger and make do sothing truly terrible."

Luke opened his eyes, glanced at her bare thigh, and said playfully,

"You definitely don't want to experience that."

Barbara pulled the towel lower, biting her lip. Her expression was a mix of terror and complexity. After struggling for a few seconds, she finally put the lamp down.

"That's right."

"You're a smart person. Smart people should learn to protect themselves, not clash with others using a table lamp. That's what a fool would do."

Barbara ground her teeth and cursed furiously.

"Luke Shaw, you are trash, a demon, an animal!"

Luke returned a cold smile. "Aren't you embarrassed saying that? Don't forget, you were the one who hugged first."

"You..."

Barbara exploded in rage and tried to kick him, but rembering she wasn't wearing underwear, she quickly pulled her leg back.

"Luke Shaw, just wait. My father won't let you get away with this! He'll throw you into prison to rot for the rest of your life and suffer torture!"

Luke shook his head with amusent.

"The police need evidence to arrest soone. Without evidence, how can they arrest ? Even if your father is Jim Gordon—the future Police Commissioner—he can't send to prison when I haven't committed a cri."

"Evasion!"

Barbara glared at him. "You raped ! All this... all this is evidence!"

Luke burst into laughter, his expression very strange.

"Miss Gordon, I recomnd you read the US Constitution; it will be very helpful for your future life. Listen carefully: Rape is defined as the illegal act of forced sexual intercourse with a victim using violence. Rember, sexual intercourse."

Luke spread his hands, his expression innocent.

"Did we have sexual intercourse?"

Barbara: "..."

Luke continued, "Given your current physical condition, no forensic pathologist in the world would conclude that 'sexual intercourse' occurred. Even if you called the police, they wouldn't classify this as a cri."

"Two minors stripping naked and lying on a bed, rubbing against each other, is not against the US Constitution. Even if you charge with coercion, there's no evidence. The hospital cara clearly shows you hugging ; I didn't force you. Do you understand?"

"You initiated all of this. I, at most, was just passive."

Barbara was stunned. In all her years, she had never heard such shaless words or t such a shaless person.

You stripped naked, pinned to the bed, hugged, fondled, and kissed , and now you claim we didn't have sexual relations?

"Luke Shaw, are you even human?"

"That makes a little awkward," Luke said, scratching his nose and giving an awkward laugh. "How about this: na a demand, and I will try my best to satisfy it."

Barbara picked up a pillow and slamd it onto Luke's head.

"I want you dead!"

Luke caught the pillow and put it back in place. "Try another condition."

"I just want you dead! Dead!"

Barbara was utterly furious. She pounced on Luke, clawing and biting, wishing she could tear him limb from limb.

Just then,

BANG! BANG!

Gunshots rang out outside, followed by screams from the crowd.

Luke's expression changed slightly. He pushed the girl away and quickly got dressed.

Barbara also sobered up. While glaring at Luke, she picked up her clothes from the floor and put them on.

The two left the room. Stepping out of the hotel, they saw four ard thugs dragging a heavily pregnant woman toward a van.

"Sarah!"

Barbara's face went white. She lunged forward.

Luke was quick. He grabbed her back, covered her mouth, and hissed,

"Are you crazy? Don't you see they have guns? Are you trying to get killed?"

Barbara struggled fiercely but was held firmly until the van drove away. She finally broke free.

"You bastard!"

"I knew it! You're working with them!"

Barbara was consud by hatred and anger, charging at him recklessly. Luke grabbed her wrist and snapped,

"If you don't want anything to happen to your stepmother, shut your mouth and follow !"

Barbara stared at him venomously.

The two walked single file to the parking lot next to the hospital and found a sleek, white Lamborghini.

Luke got in, and Barbara followed.

The Lamborghini roared like a beast and sped into the street. Turning a corner, they imdiately spotted the gray van driving ahead.

Barbara quickly pointed.

"That's it! That's the van! Sarah is inside!"

"How many months pregnant is your stepmother?"

"Over nine months."

"This is trouble then."

Luke frowned, feeling the situation was tricky. A nine-month pregnant woman couldn't handle much stress. One false move could result in two deaths.

Barbara understood the gravity of the situation and rushed.

"What do we do?"

Luke remained silent. After a few seconds, he suddenly asked,

"Why would they kidnap your stepmother instead of just killing her?"

Barbara was startled and blurted out.

"Dominic Sydney! Their target is Sydney!"

Smart, indeed!

Luke praised her internally and continued, "Call your father. Tell him to find a way to stabilize those kidnappers and stall for as much ti as possible. I'll handle the rest."
