Chapter 57: The Flash's Hand Speed

Arguing with feminists is the sa as arguing with won.

If you talk logic, they talk history; if you talk history, they talk human rights; if you talk human rights, they talk logic.

The best way to deal with won's rights advocates is to ignore them. Let them make as much noise as they want. The worst-case scenario is eting them in court.

The Grand Hacking Challenge

At 1:00 PM, the registration period ended, and the hacking challenge entered the preparation phase.

To prevent any unexpected disasters, Luke positioned himself in the technical departnt, ready to jump into the fray at any mont.

The first day's participation reached 3,264 people. This ant the Show technical departnt was about to battle over three thousand opponents. They would face every imaginable, even unseen, type of cyber-attack. This was a challenge, but also a golden opportunity to prove themselves.

If they succeeded, Show would beco the benchmark for network security.

Everyone was on high alert. This event was too important. People from other departnts also put aside their work and gathered in the technical departnt.

At the sa ti, cyber geniuses worldwide sat down at their computers, flexing their fingers, determined to teach Show a profound lesson.

The clock struck two, and the hacking challenge officially began.

Countless pieces of junk information ford massive data bombs that poured into the Show servers through various channels—one of the hackers' favorite attack thods.

In addition to data bombs, there were backdoors, system exploits, DDoS attacks, deception services, Trojan horses, and more.

All sorts of cyberattacks rushed in, an enormous flow of information that roared like a flood or a tsunami, ready to swallow Show whole. Unfortunately for them, they were not attacking an ordinary defense system but the ultimate fortress that Luke had poured countless hours of effort into creating.

No matter how hard the floodwaters surged, the fortress stood firm.

Soon, the first wave of attacks ended.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, then beca ecstatic, especially the technical departnt's nerds. As n, who doesn't want to stand their ground heroically? So what if the opponent has overwhelming numbers? I stand right here. Co at , and you die.

The technicians and the invaders fought fiercely, energized like Spartans.

Luke, however, was bored and started to yawn. Show's firewall was personally built by him. It consisted of three layers, containing nurous technologies that did not belong to this era. Unless the intruder was a true genius hacker, they wouldn't leave a scratch on the wall.

The first wave of attacks quickly subsided, and the second wave began.

The result was predictable: an overwhelming victory for Show.

"There are always more fools than geniuses in the world!"

Luke shook his head resignedly, closed his eyes, and soon, the sound of snoring filled the room.

Charlie: "..."

Rowan: "..."

Mr. Arthur: "..."

Zachs exclaid sincerely, "What is a master? The boss is an absolute master."

"With him here, what do we have to fear?"

"Yeah, we fear nothing!"

The technical departnt geeks gritted their teeth, pumped full of adrenaline.

Cindy: "?"

Have these guys gone too long without a girlfriend? Have they lost their minds?

Barry Allen's Breakthrough

In a warehouse in Central City, Barry Allen sat at a computer, scrolling through news about the hacking challenge.

He read at an astonishing speed. Web pages scrolled like film reels, and before one was fully visible, the next one was already gone.

As the possessor of the Speed Force, Barry Allen occasionally played the role of a superhero to fight cri, but his speed was so imnse that each action took less than a second. Passersby didn't even have ti to take a picture.

So Central City citizens only knew that their city also had a vigilante similar to Superman and Batman, but who he was or what his nickna was remained unknown.

Being a hero felt good, and Barry Allen hoped to beco a famous hero like Batman or Superman. However, that was a future goal. His imdiate priority was to find a job and support himself.

The Speed Force granted him unparalleled speed but placed a huge burden on his body, requiring vast amounts of food to maintain energy balance. The money earned from odd jobs was simply not enough.

He needed a stable, well-paying job, preferably one that would allow him to reach the middle class.

Unfortunately, such a job was hard to find.

No large corporation would hire a young man under twenty who didn't even have a college degree. They didn't care about the knowledge stored in his brain or the level of work he was capable of.

Barry Allen was stuck. He couldn't exactly tell an interviewer: I spent a few days reading all the textbooks from Harvard and morized them. Please trust my ability.

Even if he said it, no one would believe him.

After multiple failed job applications, Barry Allen was getting a headache.

That's when Show's recruitnt notice appeared online.

The monthly salary was $4,500 (pre-tax), with equity options, and most importantly, the only requirent was: Genius!

Show only wanted geniuses.

Other requirents like education, age, gender, and work experience were completely disregarded.

Barry Allen assessed himself and felt excellent about his chances.

As the man with the fastest hand speed in the world, no one could type on a keyboard faster than him.

He was a bona fide genius keyboard warrior. Anyone who hired him would know his worth.

The only issue was the distance. Central City was 1,800 kiloters (1,100 miles) in a straight line from tropolis. He couldn't run to work every day, even if it only took a few minutes.

After careful consideration, Barry Allen decided to go for this opportunity. He really had no other options.

To make a strong impression on his future boss, Barry Allen chose not to follow the normal application route. Instead, he chose to be an invader. He would use his unparalleled hand speed to break through Show's firewall, letting the young boss know that hiring him would be the honor of a lifeti.

With his determination set, Barry Allen got to work.

His hands moved across the keyboard, faster and faster, gradually dissolving into a translucent blur. A faint red electric light shimred around them.

At the sa ti, in the Show technical departnt, the sleeping Luke was shoved awake by Charlie.

"Boss, we have trouble!"

Luke groggily opened his eyes.

"What's the matter?"

Zachs urgently said, "A master just got in! He's breaking through the second firewall!"

"Oh!"

Luke was interested. After waiting so long, he had finally encountered a true master. He slowly walked over to the computer, saw the intruder's na, and couldn't help but swear.

"Holy crap! Barry Allen!"

Zachs was surprised. "You know him?"

Luke shook his head, looking strange.

"I haven't t him, but I've heard about him. The guy has very fast hand speed. Hundreds of tis up and down per second!"

Zachs chuckled.

"Hundreds of tis up and down per second? Can his girlfriend handle that?"

Everyone exchanged knowing smiles. They all understood.

Luke gave him a speechless look and waved his hand.

"Enough with the jokes. This guy won't be easy to handle. I have to take care of this myself."

With that, he sat down at the computer. The mont his fingertips touched the keys, he entered a storm state. His ten fingers flew across the keyboard, turning into a virtual blur.

Under Luke's control, the firewall seed to co alive. Hidden defense programs within the database were activated, attacking from all directions, forming a tight siege around the intruder.
