Chapter 122: Young Master Shaw of Coast City

The Interrogation and the New Assistant

The next morning, Luke was awakened by an angry roar. Opening his eyes, he saw Linda's face full of fury. Recalling the mory of her kneeling and calling him "Daddy" the night before, his expression instantly turned odd.

"You bastard, what did you do to last night?"

An enraged Linda grabbed his collar and refused to let go, acting like a frantic little wildcat.

Luke said helplessly,

"Let go, all right? I'm not wearing underwear. If you rip my shirt, we'll be face-to-face with nothing on."

"Whether you're wearing clothes or not makes no difference to ! Tell , what shaless thing did you do to last night, and why does my head hurt so much?"

"Don't falsely accuse . You fainted on your own; it has nothing to do with . If you don't believe , go check the security feed."

Luke wrestled free from her grasp and walked into the bathroom, yawning. Linda, filled with suspicion, rushed to the monitoring room to check the video. After watching it, she grew even more confused.

The fainting was caused by the skeleton. Its eyes seed to possess a superpower.

Wait!

She rembered distinctly calling soone "Daddy," but the video showed nothing of the sort. Did I dream of my father?

Unable to find an answer, Linda sat on the sofa, staring at the skeleton in the corner, sinking into deep confusion.

Luke, having finished washing up, erged from the bathroom and smiled.

"I'm heading ho today. Want to co along?"

"No interest!" She paused, then asked with a hesitant expression, "Did I... talk in my sleep last night?"

"You did! You called out 'Daddy' several tis. You must really miss your father."

The girl's brow twitched. She wasn't entirely convinced.

"I really called out?"

Luke fought back a laugh, nodding with a serious expression. "Absolutely. I heard it clearly. You said 'Daddy' in Kryptonian."

Linda: "..."

Why do I feel an urge to punch him? Why is this urge getting stronger?

This damned bastard must have done sothing to !

To uncover the truth of the previous night, Linda decided to stick close to Luke. However, her face was pulled longer than a mule's, and faint red glows occasionally gathered in her light blue eyes. Clearly, she sensed sothing, but she had no evidence.

With such a human-shaped nuclear bomb beside him, Luke had to suppress his smile and maintain a serious deanor.

As they exited the underground base, a black BMW was waiting. A tall, well-built Caucasian man with a crew cut, nearly six feet three inches, stood next to the car. Seeing the two of them, he imdiately walked over.

The man's expression was cold, and his erald-green pupils occasionally flashed with a strange light, as if a fire was burning within. A casual glance from him sent an icy chill deep into one's bones.

He stopped three ters in front of Luke, bowed slightly, and spoke with profound respect.

"Hello, Young Master."

"When people are around, call Boss!"

"Understood, Boss!"

Luke introduced him to the girl.

"Adam, my driver and assistant."

Linda looked him up and down. When she saw the luminous green eyes, her body stiffened. For a fleeting mont, she had the illusion that her soul was being stripped away.

Who is this person?

What terrifying eyes!

Luke asked, "Is everything ready?"

"It is all prepared. Thirty-six gifts have already been sent to the house."

"Good."

Luke nodded slightly, opened the car door, and settled into the back seat.

The BMW started up, carrying the three of them toward the northern district of Coast City.

The Ruler of Coast City

Eight years ago, a special na appeared in Coast City: Young Master Shaw. This na spread like wildfire throughout the North District.

Initially, no one paid attention, thinking "Young Master Shaw" was just a joke by so gang leader. Six months later, no one dared to disregard him, because those who did had disappeared.

Young Master Shaw was neither entirely good nor entirely bad. He was a shield for many people, but also an inescapable nightmare for others.

Although many people did not know who Young Master Shaw was, what he looked like, or what his real na was, they were intimately familiar with his thods and the rules he established.

No drug use!No drug trafficking!No robbery!No rape!

These four rules were carved like nails into the heart of everyone in Coast City's North District. In so respects, they were similar to the law, yet they possessed a deadliness and iron resolve that the law lacked.

People who violated the law might only be sent to prison, as Coast City had no death penalty. But those who broke the rules were thrown into the sea to feed the fish.

Consequently, rule-breakers vanished, and everyone began to obey. The police were no exception; they even beca the greatest upholders of the rules, and simultaneously, the greatest beneficiaries.

Protected by these rules, Coast City's North District shed its forr shabbiness and chaos, transforming into a bustling comrcial hub for the West. It boasted the most comprehensive employnt, welfare, and educational systems. Even holess vagrants could find housing and honest work, and orphans could receive the best education.

The prerequisite for all of this was simple: they must obey the rules.

Driving along the increasingly prosperous Chinatown, Luke smiled as he looked at the bustling crowds.

"You know, I'm actually a man who follows rules."

Linda secretly curled her lip. If you follow rules, there wouldn't be criminals in the world.

Despite her inner thoughts, she looked out the window, observing the scene: clean and tidy streets, buildings with exotic flair, smiling passersby, and occasional live music performances on street corners—it gave her a completely new feeling.

It wasn't just the liveliness and peace; it was the strange sense of security. Linda had never felt this way in any other city.

"Is this where you grew up?"

Luke nodded. "I spent most of my ti here before. But Chinatown wasn't like this before. It was a chaotic den of iniquity where shops were robbed, people used and dealt drugs, and brawls and disturbances were countless every day. I didn't like it, so I changed it into what you see now."

Linda was stunned, disbelievingly saying, "You changed it? Don't joke! How is that possible?"

"Why wouldn't it be possible?"

Luke shrugged indifferently. He pulled a cigarette from his pocket, then quickly put it back, rembering he was about to see his grandfather.

"Ultimately, good people still outnumber the bad. As long as you establish benevolent rules from a position of strength, they won't oppose them—they'll even uphold them. As for those who don't follow the rules, you just make them disappear."

"When the bad guys disappear, only the good guys are left. Then, with a little economic, welfare, and educational reform, life naturally gets better and better."

Luke made it sound simple, but Linda sensed a different aning in his words.

"How did you make those people who didn't follow the rules disappear?"

"There are many ways. The least severe is to drive them out of Coast City and forbid them from ever returning. Labor reform is also an option. Personally, though, I prefer throwing them into the sea to feed the fish."

"That's the only way to solve the problem once and for all."
