Stunned!
Shock!
Unbelievable!!
These were the expressions written across the faces of everyone present at that mont.
Or rather, most of them hadn't even reacted yet.
It was all happening too fast!
The events that had just unfolded were so rapid that it felt almost impossible to process.
Whoosh—!
David took a deep breath. Without so much as a glance at Delais, who was foaming at the mouth, he turned to Rogge.
"Boss, do I win this competition?" he asked calmly.
"Wha... Well..."
Rogge was still in a daze. It took him a mont to snap out of his shock, and then he quickly glanced at Delais, who was still lying motionless on the floor.
"Forget it, it's a victory, right?!" he replied.
Bang—!
At that mont, a wine glass slipped from soone's hand and hit the ground with a crisp sound.
The stunned crowd finally ca to their senses.
Wow—!
The bar erupted into a cacophony of shocked exclamations.
"Oh my God! What just happened?! How did that big guy from the Beast Gang fly out like that?"
"Damn, it all happened so fast, I didn't even realize what was going on!"
"Wait, how did that guy from Dragon Kingdom send the Beast Gang leader flying with just one punch?!"
"It's magic! I told you! I knew those guys from the Dragon Kingdom had so kind of magical powers!"
"What the hell? This can't be true, can it?!"
"Did that kid from Dragon Kingdom secretly install so advanced prosthetics on himself?"
"But it can't be. I scanned him with my prosthetic eye and it didn't detect anything. He's just a regular human!"
"Damn it, what good is your cheap prosthetic eye? If his prosthetics were high-end, your scanner wouldn't have picked them up!"
"Yeah, that makes sense, but if he really could afford advanced prosthetics, he wouldn't be a waiter at a bar, would he?"
"Enough with the questions! Do you seriously think there's magic in the world?!"
For a while, the rcenaries and fringe mbers at the lower end of the social spectrum were arguing wildly.
So of them believed that David had used an advanced prosthetic body, while others insisted it was so form of magical power from the East. Both sides kept debating, but the one undeniable fact was that David had won the duel.
"F**k, you're aweso, bro!!"
Jack quickly rushed over to David and slapped him on the back. "Damn, you're incredible! I'm at a loss for words! That was insane!"
"What was that move you just did? Was that the mysterious power of the East or so special implant you installed?"
David chuckled, not missing a beat. "Haha, just a little trick."
"Oh my God, that was just a trick?!"
Jack looked at David with wide eyes full of admiration. "You're unbelievable! I'm so glad I ca here today!"
"This is definitely fate—God's guidance!"
"David, if you work with in the future, we can definitely accomplish sothing huge together!"
"Yeah, that's a great idea! And we can get V in on this too. Let's bring her into the fold when the ti's right!"
"Damn, this combination is going to be epic!"
"Roll, roll, roll—!"
Before Jack could finish his excited rambling, Claire pulled him aside with an exasperated look. "You've got no sha, Jack. You want to drag him into the bloody edge of the knife after everything he's been through?"
"Jack, are you really that stupid?"
"Oh, yeah, yeah, I forgot about that in all the excitent."
Jack wasn't offended by Claire's blunt words. Instead, he scratched his head and quickly turned back to David with concern. "Hey, David, are you feeling alright? If there's anything you need, just let know!"
"Haha, no..." David shook his head, about to politely decline Jack's offer.
At that exact mont, David's stomach growled loudly.
Earlier, when facing off against the massive Delais, David had used almost all of his energy. The punch had activated his body's magnetic field to generate electricity, and now he was running on empty.
He was starving.
"Okay, Jack, I do need your help with sothing right now."
"No problem! Tell !"
Jack's enthusiasm was palpable, and he practically bounced on his toes. He was ready to follow any order from David.
"david , if you need anything, I'm totally on it!"
"Okay, it's nothing big," David said with a sincere expression. "Could you go across the street and grab so pizza? I'm really hungry."
"Wait, pizza?!" Jack's expression was one of complete confusion. "David, are you kidding ?"
"Do you think I'm joking?"
"It's just..."
"Just what? What's wrong with wanting so pizza after a fight like that?"
Claire, who was standing nearby, raised her voice at Jack. "Are you going or not? If not, I'll go myself!"
"Go, go, go!" Jack nodded quickly, shaking off his confusion. "I'll take care of it! How much do you want?"
"Give twenty yuan first," David said, grinning.
"Six inches small?!"
"14 inches, large."
"Got it?"
Jack hesitated for a mont before asking, "Wait, 14-inch pizza? Are you having a celebration party or sothing?"
David didn't respond. He just gave him a pointed look.
"Uh... no, no, no, I'll get it right now!" Jack muttered to himself as he headed toward the door, his mind still trying to process the order.
As Jack walked out of the bar, he scratched his head in confusion. "Twenty 14-inch pizzas... Is David having a party or sothing?"
If Jack had known that David was planning to eat all those pizzas by himself, he probably wouldn't have looked so confused.
"David, good job."
Rogge ca over with a wide smile on his face and admiration in his eyes. "You really surprised today!"
David smiled and nodded in acknowledgnt.
"Young people are incredible. I haven't seen anyone like you in Night City for a long ti."
Rogge continued, nodding approvingly. Then he took David's hand and raised it high into the air!
The crowd around them went silent, watching in anticipation.
Rogge's voice rang out, strong and clear. "Everyone, the winner of today's duel—David, the boy from Dragon Kingdom!!"
Wow—!!
The already energized crowd erupted into even greater excitent.
"David!"
"David!!"
Everyone shouted, their voices filled with awe and respect.
The atmosphere in the Afterlife Bar was electric, much like when that rock star Johnny Silverhand from Samurai Band held a concert!
