"You brat! I didn't have ti to settle accounts with you this morning, and now I've caught you!"

Greli's face was full of malice as he strode toward David with arrogant swagger.

"Let's step outside and settle the bill for the rear-end collision!" Greli barked. "Don't make cause trouble in the Afterlife Bar!"

The Beast Gang wasn't so different from the Scavengers.

Neither had a fixed base in Night City. They road the streets like sewer rats, stirring up chaos wherever they went.

For most people, Rogue's na carried significant weight. But for these bottom-feeders? It was a different story. They didn't care about reputation or big deals—they thrived on petty cris and underhanded sches.

As Greli's voice echoed down the hallway, Rebecca took another sharp sip of her drink.

"You sure have a way of offending people, huh?" she said with a smirk. "Looks like you owe two free drinks now."

She'd imdiately recognized the tattoos marking Greli as part of the Beast Gang.

Like every rcenary in Night City, Rebecca knew what kind of people these were—violent, unreasonable, and utterly savage.

Without waiting for a reply, she reached for the gun at her waist, ready to help out if things got ssy.

But before she could draw, David gently placed a hand on hers, stopping her.

Rebecca raised an eyebrow at him, confused.

"You don't need to step in," David said with a calm smile. "I can handle this myself."

Rebecca blinked.

"Are the drinks at the Afterlife Bar really that expensive?" she asked, her expression deadpan.

David chuckled at her odd sense of humor.

"How could I let a custor deal with sothing like this?" he said confidently. "Besides, I promised your drinks would be free next ti, didn't I?"

Rebecca hesitated, still skeptical.

"You sure you've got this?" she asked.

"Absolutely," David replied without hesitation.

Turning away, he faced the two n approaching from opposite ends of the hallway.

"This is the Afterlife Bar," David said firmly, his voice sharp. "It's not a place for you to make trouble. Don't disrupt my work."

Greli sneered, unfazed by David's calm deanor.

"Work? What work?" he mocked. "What's more important—your lousy job or the money I'm owed?"

Greli jabbed a finger toward David, his voice rising.

"Let's go! You're coming with to settle this with my boss!"

The scavenger from the other side of the hall stepped in.

"Hold on! First-co, first-served, right?" he snapped. "I spotted this kid first!"

Greli turned to glare at the scavenger, his tone dripping with disdain.

"You wanna fight for him? Fine! Let's see if you've got what it takes to speak up!"

The argunt escalated as both n quickened their pace, determined to grab David first.

Rebecca watched the chaotic scene unfold, sipping her drink with a bemused expression.

"Well... this is gonna be fun to watch," she muttered.

The commotion soon drew the attention of Pyrrha, who poked his head out of the private room.

"Hey! Rebecca!" he called out. "What's taking so long with the drinks?"

Rebecca didn't even turn to look at him.

"Mind your own business!" she snapped, slamming the door shut in his face.

"Ow! My nose!" Pyrrha yelped from behind the door, clutching his face.

"You damn brat! Even your brother gets treated like this?!"

anwhile, the scavenger and Greli had broken into a sprint. Their prosthetic legs whirred to life, micro rotors kicking in to double their speed.

Both were hell-bent on reaching David first.

The unwritten rule of gang warfare was clear: If you spot the prey first, it's yours. No exceptions.

Rebecca's eyes narrowed as she realized the situation was about to get ugly.

"Oof—this isn't looking good," she muttered under her breath, instinctively reaching for her gun again.

With their enhanced speed and strength, Greli and the scavenger could easily crush David, who had no prosthetics to protect him.

Rebecca couldn't stand by and watch. But just as her hand reached her weapon, sothing unexpected happened.

The mont the two n were within a few ters of David, they both ca to an abrupt halt—like they'd run into an invisible wall.

"What the hell?!" Greli snarled, his voice laced with confusion.

Before either man could react, an unseen force slamd into them, throwing them backward with incredible force.

Bang!

The air compressed with a sharp crack, and both n were hurled through the air, faster than they'd moved under their own power.

Greli crashed into the back wall of the hallway, his impact shattering neon lights and leaving a tangled ss of wires and glass.

The scavenger, being thinner and lighter, fared even worse. He was sent flying straight out of the hallway and into the crowded dance floor beyond.

Shouts and screams erupted from the crowd as the scavenger hit the ground with a sickening thud.

In the now-silent hallway, David stood alone.

It was as if he hadn't moved at all, but the scene around him told a very different story.

Rebecca stared in stunned silence, her drink forgotten in her hand.

"What the hell just happened?!" she whispered, her voice filled with disbelief.

Her wide eyes darted between Greli, who was groaning against the wall, and the scavenger, who was being dragged off the dance floor by a bouncer.

David turned to Rebecca with a calm smile, as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.
