921: Chapter 740: Xu Cheng and Bubble Working Part-Ti_2 921: Chapter 740: Xu Cheng and Bubble Working Part-Ti_2 It seems they just need a little water not to die, enduring the low temperatures.

“In the sumr we stay in the square, and in the winter there’s snow there,” Bubble said.

They stretched their arms and legs on the mattress together, but it was too narrow to fit two children.

“There used to be rats and Old Ratman here, so scary.

But this year they’ve all left,” Bubble looked towards the corner under the bridge where a manhole cover led to deeper places.

“The Ratman in the sewers,” Xu Cheng rembered when she walked in the sewers before.

“Once I earned 200 and put it in a small box under the mattress.

When I ca back, it got stolen by Old Ratman.

Since then, I’ve hidden my money on ,” Bubble said.

“It stinks here,” Xu Cheng gave the air a kick.

“The place by the river doesn’t stink, but it’s too cold there,” Bubble wrapped herself tightly in her ssy coat.

“Where did you get your clothes?”

“Stolen from a donation box for old clothes.”

“You shouldn’t steal things,” Xu Cheng subconsciously said.

“If I don’t steal, I will freeze to death,” Bubble said shiveringly.

“Let’s make a fire,” Xu Cheng saw a barrel with half-filled trash to burn.

“Need to wait for the coldest ti to light it, otherwise if the fuel is used up we’ll die,” Bubble said fearfully.

They chatted intermittently.

Xu Cheng felt she had missed the morning class.

That class was about how to make friends.

If she didn’t attend, her dad would worry, and if Xu Cheng couldn’t learn how to make friends, she would always be lonely.

All she could do was to hold onto Bubble’s arm.

“Guabu…” She closed her eyes to sleep.

Around eleven in the noon, Xu Cheng invited Bubble for lunch.

She took Bubble to the food street, where various foods were displayed at dazzling stalls.

Bubble stood on tiptoe and looked, all of it unseen by her before.

Sushi, octopus balls, pufferfish cuisine, grilled chicken, bubble tea…

all emitting tempting aromas.

“Eat whatever you want, my treat,” Xu Cheng told Bubble.

Bubble bought two big bags of sweet potatoes and took them back to the bridge hole.

“Without the Ratman stealing, we can keep them for a long ti,” Bubble put two bags full of sweet potatoes by the bed.

“Have this,” Xu Cheng took out a milk bottle hidden in her clothes and shared it with Bubble.

Bubble held the milk bottle and drank, while Xu Cheng ate roasted sweet potato.

“Do you recognize words?” Bubble asked.

“I do,” Xu Cheng replied with her mouth full of sweet potato.

“Help read what these papers say,” Bubble pulled out so old newspapers from under the bedding.

“‘The root of poverty is laziness,'” Xu Cheng read aloud from the newspaper for Bubble.

Bubble rolled around on the mattress a few tis.

“Ti to set up the stall,” Bubble got up anxiously.

Bubble was right, with a bicycle, she could ride to busier places to set up the stall.

“District 24 is the best place,” Bubble said, “the houses are all freshly painted.”

They ca with Snowball to the tram station in District 24; the tram connected all corners of the city, and it was the place with the most people.

Bubble unfolded the Synthetic Cloak Xu Cheng gave her on the ground, which wrapped many small trinkets.

They sat side by side behind the stall, with Snowball squatting next to protect them.

Many people walked past them, office workers, high school girls, company employees, citizens, students, elderly, tourists, salesn…

rushing through the road in front of them, hurrying to catch the tram.

“Guabu!

Guabu!” Xu Cheng stood up and shouted at the people.

“It’s good stuff!” Bubble also shouted.

“Guabu!” Xu Cheng wanted everyone to buy things.

“It’s good stuff!” Bubble kept shouting.

Since nobody was buying, they sat down again.

Xu Cheng bit her lip.

“Let’s go to work instead,” Bubble said.

Xu Cheng cried.

“It’s all boring stuff, it’s normal it doesn’t sell!” Bubble quickly said.

Xu Cheng cried.

“Next ti we’ll sell chocolate bars, they will sell,” Bubble comforted Xu Cheng, “even though I’ve never had chocolate.”

They packed up the trinkets from the stall, rolled them into the cloak, and then hugged them in their arms.

Bubble rode the bike and took her to the construction site of Yagi Heavy Industries from yesterday; they intended to sneak in but were stopped by the security uncle.

“There have been severe complaints from the neighbors,” the uncle told Bubble to leave quickly so as not to be discovered.

“Guabu!” Xu Cheng protested.

Bubble consoled Xu Cheng and then rode the bike to even farther places.

“This bike is really fast,” Bubble said, “thank you for giving the bike.”

“Guabu…” Xu Cheng felt sad.

“If only I could find an easy job, like washing dishes or sweeping,” Bubble fantasized.

Xu Cheng wiped her tears and looked up to see the delivery drones flying by.

“Guabu!” Xu Cheng pointed eagerly.

“That’s right, with the bicycle you gave , I can deliver packages now!” Bubble was very happy.

She parked the bike near a public station with a canopy, and Xu Cheng registered for the “Phecda Express” crowdsourced courier qualification with her small phone.

The ultimate delivery team has arrived: Bubble rides, Xu Cheng takes orders, and Snowball navigates from the bike basket.

Delivering balls from Mingzhu Cuttlefish Shop to Miss Nakamura’s apartnt, 2.5 kiloters, 3 bucks.

Delivering coffee from Dragon Nest Coffee Chain to Five Continents Biotech Company, 3.4 kiloters, 3.5 bucks.

Delivering fried chicken from Multi-Dinsional Chicken to Mingli Private High School, 5 kiloters, 5 bucks.

Bubble placed the fried chicken box in the takeaway cabinet at the entrance of the high school.

Xu Cheng happily showed Bubble the earnings details on her phone.

“Hard work really does pay off.” Bubble was delighted.

“Guabu!”

“At this rate, we can buy an electric-assist bike.”

“Guabu!” Xu Cheng was very excited.

She is a little pilot, planning to fly planes and deliver takeouts with Bubble in the future.

Bubble turned to see the teaching buildings and sports fields inside the high school; it was a school that taught bad children using traditional thods, hence there were so students in black uniforms.

“Going to school is so impressive.” Bubble said.

Xu Cheng perked up.

“Co to my house.” Xu Cheng invited.

“Do you live in a house?”

“Guabu Guabu!”

“First ti going into a house, I’m scared.” Bubble stood up.

“Guabu Guabu.” Xu Cheng got up, placed Snowball in the basket, let Bubble sit in the back to rest, and then she pedaled ho.

Arriving at Xu Cheng’s apartnt, Bubble was scared while riding the elevator.

“Feels like I’m going to fly.” Bubble swayed uneasily, unaccustod to the weightlessness in the elevator.

“Guabu!” Xu Cheng held Bubble’s hand tightly.

After unlocking the door, Bubble walked into the ho and was stunned by Xu Cheng’s place.

To Bubble, it was a super large living room, beautiful furniture, and lots of machines flying around.

“Guabu.” Xu Cheng sat on the floor and took out a spare Virtual Helt for Bubble, helping her put it on.

“I can’t see anything!

There’s light!

It’s weird!” Bubble reached out her hands fumbling around.

“Guabu Guabu.” Xu Cheng put on her helt and entered the virtual space.

Seeing Bubble moving about in her seat, she walked over and sat beside her, “Guabu Guabu.”

Bubble stopped fidgeting.

The artificial intelligence teacher was giving a math lesson, introducing the mysterious “multiplication,” which Bubble didn’t understand at all.

Xu Cheng was distracted, doodling on the desktop, helping Bubble with first-grade addition and subtraction, and creating practice problems for her.

The great third-grader Xu Cheng possessed mathematical skills far beyond Bubble’s.

After two hours, Bubble had learned addition and subtraction.

Xu Cheng didn’t learn anything new, but she was very happy.

At the end of the lesson, Xu Cheng took off the Virtual Helt, then helped Bubble remove hers.

“It’s so good to attend classes.” Bubble said.

“Guabu Guabu.” Xu Cheng was very happy.

She took out so chocolate from the snack pile to share with Bubble; it was Bubble’s first ti tasting chocolate.

Then Xu Cheng showed Bubble her magnificent diorama train model.

Bubble watched intently, especially when the little train moved along the tracks.

“You are the most amazing person in the world.” Bubble admiredly said to Xu Cheng.

“Guabu!” Xu Cheng was very pleased.

Xu Cheng gave her own clothes to Bubble, Bubble was a bit taller, so the clothes were a bit tight but much warr, and all were clean.

Bubble finally had socks, a scarf, gloves, and a hat.

By seven o’clock in the evening, it had already beco very dark.

“The sweet potatoes are getting cold.

I have to hurry back.” Bubble needed to return quickly.

“Guabu Guabu.” Xu Cheng helped Bubble with the bicycle and escorted her down the stairs.

“It’s so good to be able to work.” Bubble left down the street, pedaling her bicycle.

Xu Cheng watched Bubble’s figure disappear and suddenly realized she had forgotten to remind Bubble not to wander around at night.

She lowered her head and returned ho.

When Xu Yang ca ho from work, Xu Cheng imdiately started gesturing excitedly to him.

“Guabu!”

“Is she a good kid?” Xu Yang asked.

“Guabu.” Xu Cheng nodded vigorously.

“Let her co and study with you, let her live here.” Xu Yang said.

“Guabu!” Xu Cheng jumped up and hugged her dad tightly.
