87: Chapter 70: Signal of Revenge 87: Chapter 70: Signal of Revenge Hearing Xu Yang’s plan, Asa Katsuragi beca urgent.

“I need to keep up,” she said hastily, “What if giant rats show up again, or those Red Armored Witches reappear to attack?

What then?”

“This ti we’re different from before,” Xu Yang spoke to ease her anxiety, “If a fight breaks out, we’re not without the power to fight back.”

Farosa has regained much of her power, plus with Lila following, having two witches by our side, we stand a great chance against either Matteo or the Ratn.

“Let’s go, let’s go.” Cui Junyou was not nervous.

As long as there were witches accompanying him, Xu Yang’s safety was guaranteed, “The farther from the company, the safer we are.

The company is the source of all affliction; rember this and you can’t go wrong.”

The Anonymous had been repaired by the employees of the wrap hat, leaving only so cuts and abrasions.

It was no longer pristine, having a battle-worn appearance, which made it look even more rugged.

Entering the cabin, Xu Yang felt a sense of comfort and safety.

After spending several days on the Anonymous, he had co to regard it as his own ho.

Lila piloted the Anonymous, driving straight out of the wrap hat’s underground parking lot and ascended to the skies of Hui City District.

Underground space was low and constrained, forbidding casual flight, but from this height, one could already see the entire city.

Smoke billowed everywhere, fire, ergency lights, and the headlights of vehicles slashed through the darkness, casting reflections of bloodstains and chunks of corpses on the streets.

Most districts had reestablished the company order, raising huge light walls at the edges to mark protected areas.

Enormous floating text warned people and vehicles not to enter rashly, and only those with proper docuntation were allowed in and out.

Ard guards, loaded with weapons, patrolled the streets, protecting the lawful rights of their clients according to contracts.

The poor and weak who attempted to approach were instantly chased away with batons and electric prods.

So companies had resud work, many buildings ablaze with light, where busy scenes could barely be seen.

The main task for each company now was to force employees back to work.

Xu Yang saw large shuttle machines docked at the base of a building, herding in hundreds of compliant company people like sheep.

Small groups of Ratn were still appearing, having lost contact with the larger force, disoriented, they charged toward the areas controlled by security companies, only to be quickly shot dead by professional ard personnel, collapsing lifelessly, as if they had lost their purpose.

Sensing her surroundings, Lila discovered many Ratn burrowing into alleys and ventilation ducts, rushing toward Shenkong Tower where they seed to be congregating for so earth-shattering event.

The corpse of a giant Rat lay atop the rubble of a building, apparently having been in battle for a long while before dying, its whole body soaked in blood with no spot of its original color in sight.

Six shuttle machines hovered around its corpse, depositing teams of biotechnicians and security staff who encircled the Giant Rat, treating it like their prized possession.

As the Anonymous passed by, they frantically signaled to detour or be fired upon.

As he moved through the city, Xu Yang couldn’t help but log into the Corporate Alliance’s database to check his own personal file.

Pan Ruiyi had indeed reported his death to the company.

A weight lifted off Xu Yang’s chest.

His file would be soon cleared; the Corporate Alliance would no longer retain records of Xu Yang, and he would beco a historical term.

Accordingly, Xu Yang could no longer engage in any official activities.

The Corporate Alliance’s personal files were bound to biotric codes, and as long as he resided in this body, he was theoretically a non-existent person.

In a way, it also ant true freedom.

As long as he could deal with the Rat problem and Matteo’s pursuit, Xu Yang could live unbounded.

Returning to the rented underground apartnt, the shabby dwelling was so dilapidated that not even rats wanted to enter.

The door was undamaged, everything unchanged—a nostalgic sight.

Xu Yang entrusted Lila to enter and retrieve his computer, change of clothes, and personal belongings.

She collected all valuables, even bringing back to the Anonymous a black raincoat, which Xu Yang had once imagined wearing upon returning to Anjiu City to withstand the pervasive acid rain.

Among Xu Yang’s personal items, one docunt was key, the primary reason for his return to this apartnt.

The “Birth Certificate” he had taken from Kyushu High Pavilion.

Xu Yang gazed at the piece of printed paper, which recorded the biological codes of himself and his parents, not even their nas.

Yet these three lines of code were the final evidence of this family of three having lived in the world.

People would clearly rember their parents’ nas, but few could recall all of their grandparents’ nas or beyond.

A generation up, the so-called ancestors’ nas beca completely obscure to most.

Xu Yang hoped he would be rembered.

Not just by the next generation, but by hundreds of generations down the line, presumptuously, he wanted to secure a place for himself in the entire process of civilization.

Returning to the shuttle machine, Xu Yang felt even more confident in his plan.

He took out his cash card and repeatedly looked at the 90 million-plus figure in the top right corner.

A wealthy and free man, he didn’t have to work and could fully enjoy life, but he wasn’t about to be a coward unknown to the world.

Instead, he was looking for every opportunity to cultivate his own power until he could contend with corporatism.

His plan was still very clear.

In the short term, he could help Farosa regain her power, which she pined for constantly, always on her lips as she evoked the divine.

“With money, will there be mansions to live in?” Farosa saw the funds on Xu Yang’s cash card.

“I am the leader of the New Witch Council, after all.

I must live in luxury.”

“That can be arranged.

You’ve seen the ocean, right?” Xu Yang couldn’t help but ask Farosa.

“Of course,” Farosa replied nonchalantly, “where storms converge, the water’s pitch black, the evening tide foamy, a domain of the gods.”

“In modern tis, there are azure seas and pristine beaches, all maintained by professionals to prevent us from getting overwheld by the trash in the sea,” Xu Yang said.

“In the future, we could buy a fast boat, laze around on the beach during the day, and go fishing at night.”

“Blissful…” Farosa instinctively imagined that scenario, doing nothing but sunbathing in a swimsuit.

“Please pay attention,” Lila said.

“What now, are you going to bother us again?” Farosa said with irritation in her voice.

“No, there’s an incoming ssage,” Lila said.

“It’s from a secret communication service, seemingly from this shuttle’s original manufacturer.

I can block and disconnect content from that service.”

The original manufacturer was Black Fire Innovation, and they were actively reaching out.

“Let’s see what they have to say,” Xu Yang frowned.

A voicemail was sent to the Anonymous, and Lila scanned it and opened it.

“Xu, I know you’ve stolen our ship and are with the ancient witch.

Bring her to Shenkong Tower for a trade, and there might be a chance for you.

Otherwise, I will spread her information to the major corporations currently entering Aizu City.

How do you think they will respond to this intelligence?

Think carefully.

I’m waiting until 18:00 this afternoon.”

It was around 4 p.m., and there were only two hours left.

“It’s from Matteo,” Xu Yang shook his head.

This synthetic human was relentless.

Synthetic humans could be mass-produced, and Black Fire Innovation no doubt had a bunch of Matteos identical to each other, dispersed around the world, each operating independently, not sharing a hive mind.

Fury consud Farosa, almost punching the wall, clenching her teeth.

“He had his n kick !” she yelled.

“Stuffed in a pitch-dark bag!

Tried to murder !

A Witch Hunter!

The most despicable of Witch Hunters!”

“I won’t hand you over; you can be sure of that,” Xu Yang said.

“But he’s threatening to release my information!” Farosa’s voice was anxious.

“Are you really okay with the consequences?

Everyone will co after us!

Trying to implant chips in my brain by any ans necessary!”

“That’s indeed a bit troubleso…”

“Now I’m a problem, am I?”

“Calm down,” Xu Yang pondered their strategy.

“I won’t calm down, I’m going to flatten you!” Farosa was angry.

“You’re being squeezed by soone now, so what should I say?

The one blackmailing us isn’t going to just vanish into thin air.”

True, if Matteo didn’t disappear on his own, then they’d have to make him disappear.

“There’s a way.

I can just take you to Shenkong Tower, and that’s that,” Xu Yang smiled.

“You’re sick!

You just said you wouldn’t hand over, now you want to sell !” Farosa was very agitated.

“There are vows; how could I sell you.

We’re going there to fight them,” Xu Yang said.

“Your power has recovered quite a bit, and although it’s very limited, as long as it’s used at the key mont, it can change the course of the battle.”

Your mory of crossed wires was flushing with anger and unease.

“How could I give you up, my treasure,” Xu Yang continued to explain.

“Before, we could only run away.

Things are different now.

If he dares to threaten us like this, why should we back down!

Shenkong Tower is a key point in the current battle, with Ratn, Rat Witches, and probably Matteo all gathered there.

I say, we take the initiative and make a trip to Shenkong Tower, round them all up.”

“An aggressive strategy,” Farosa’s tone softened a bit.

“Strike first and take them all out, you’re on the sa wavelength as .

Let’s do that.”

The days of living in the shadows were over.

Faced with Matteo’s threats, the old Xu Yang might have felt nervous and uneasy, but the current Xu Yang now had the confidence to confront them.

Ultimately, it was the Black Fire Innovation faction that was in a passive state.

The evidence of their collusion with the Ratn was piling up, and yet as the Ratn faced encirclent and annihilation, it also put them in a precarious situation.

The Ratn holed up in the Shenkong Tower, a comrcial center teeming with modern facilities, was precisely where Xu Yang could make full use of his abilities.

A visit there was necessary.

Old grudges and new scores would be settled together.
