We arrive at a small empty plot of land that is where she fell with the dragon. As I expected, the hit was not enough to take it down. That beast is still breathing.
What I did not expect was she would be would straddling it to not let it escape from her while smiling like an excited child.
"Oh gods, what is she doing with that creature?!" Karina asks.
"Aurelia, what are you doing?!" I ask in confusion.
"What? I said I would be good!" She answers and then turns her attention to the drake. "Who is a good little boy?"
She starts to rub its belly.
The drake, which happens to be a large beast, starts to fight against her by thrashing, but Aurelia stays on top of it.
"Aurelia... explain!" I ask her.
"Isn’t it obvious? I am trying to dosticate it!"
The creature roars and throws fire into the sky, in an oddly weak attempt to fight back.
This has to be so form of joke, right?
"Aurelia..."
"What?"
"You are paying for its food!"
"It is a beast that hunts, it will basically get it itself!"
Karina flies forward. "I must admit, I am impressed with her capacity."
"Impressed is not the only word I would use to describe this..."
Although, thinking about it, having a drake as a pet has its uses. They can fly and carry more people than Aurelia can, and they can be fierce in battle.
"You are young, aren’t you? Did mommy leave you and you were confused and hungry and ca to get a snack?" She starts talking to it like it is a baby.
I read that dragonkins enjoyed having beasts like this, but never heard of this point. They usually do it through sheer dominance, just like many other things they do, until the creature accepts to be under soone that is stronger than it.
"Is this a common thing to happen?" Felicia asks.
"At this point, yes." Lisa answers.
"I am looking forward to working with our new masters." Keith comnts with a smile.
"Is no one going to comnt on how she said coming to a settlent is looking for a snack?" I ask.
"I need to give you a na..." she stops rubbing the drake’s belly.
The creature roars again and trash, yet, sohow, Aurelia was unmovable from its belly.
Right, Lisa used that Demisaus buff on her and she got blasted with fire, which probably made her stronger.
"Okay, you can keep it, but you must pay for everything it needs." I am not going to convince her otherwise.
"Fair!" She admits. "This should take a bit longer! Is slowly losing energy!"
I sigh. That was solved quickly, at least.
Way too quickly for what I am used to at this point. Maybe that is why I am still feeling tense and annoyed.
So guards approach us to ask what is going on and we explain the situation.
I have not a clue where this beast ca from, but seeing it slowly reduce its fight and beco more docile as Aurelia keeps it pinned to the ground maybe it ans it was not tad or summoned under soone’s control.
"Miss Amber! Can I ride it later?" Keith asks.
"I want to, if I can be honest!" Felicia answers.
I look at them for a few seconds. I wanted the first shot!
"More beats!" I hear soone yell. "There are beasts all around town!"
Huh?
A howl can be heard in the distance, and in another direction, a crushing noise, like a building falling, echoes through the town.
"What?!" A guard says. "Everyone! Let’s go assist the rest of the town!"
Soone is bringing monsters. Maybe the drake was only the first one.
"Aurelia! We are joining!" I say. Maybe we can hunt for a rare monster in town and get so nice loot from it to sell.
"What about us?" Felicia asks.
"I wanted to interview you two but there is no ti now. Can you two fight?"
"Yes!" Keith says, excited.
"No! He doesn’t, Miss Amber! He never trained!" Felicia stops him.
"Tsk... if I got into fights I would get so training..."
"Then no! You two should find shelter!" Lisa says, now worried.
"Bad idea for you two to co." I answer. "You should be able to go to base by now. Go! Take care of the person in there and be safe."
"Hey! I am still not done with this! If I stop now it might try to run!" Aurelia says, worried that I would order her to get down. "I will catch you later! Believe it will be worth it!"
"Okay! Get to it quick!" I say. "Let’s go!"

Aurelia stays taming her new beast as she hears the commotion in the distance. The guards and us left the place, and she was now alone with her new pet.
"Co one, little buddy. I know you want to co with ." She says with a smug smirk while keeping the beast pinned just by her weight. "Heh... You are such a huge beast and I am so small compared... yet you cannot fight ."
The beast is slowly losing its energy, until its brain, based on looking for stronger companions, reprograms its behavior to one of a docile creature that is going. It lies there for a second, and then gives her a small knowing growl, signifying it has beco docile.
"Good boy!" She says. "Now, let ..."
Her nose twitches at that mont, it detects sothing, a sll.
She turns her face and sees a cloaked man standing there with a broadsword.
She gives him a wicked smile.
"Soone decided to co out and play!" She says and jumps out of the beast. "General Oswald."
The drake slowly gets up on its four legs and notices Aurelia’s approach. It starts to growl at the person in there.
"Miss Aurelia, the dragonkin." He says. "For what it’s worth, I have to apologize. I underestimated you. Now you even tad a dragon I even summoned to cause troubles in town."
"Tsk, so it was you." She says. "What kind of general is a coward that needs to put others to do their bidding like this?"
"You are right. And I ca here to fix that. I should have taken matters into my own hands. You see, since I was given the sword of-"
CLANK!
Aurelia jumps at him from her spot and swings at him with her scythe. Oswald manages to block it with his sword, not without getting pushed by the force of the attack.
"Too much talk! I have been wanting to kill you since you started your shit!" She screams, not letting him monologue.
