"E-excuse , Miss... you must be Miss Amber, right?" The catgirl approaches .

She has her hands together in her chest, like a shield, and approaches with care. Her ears are glued to her scalp.

"Y-yes... I am." I answer.

She is cute! And what an adorable approach. I do rember I have explained that I have a thing for these type of female characters. Catgirls are so of my favourites.

"My na is Felicia, and this is my brother Keith. We have been tasked with guiding you to the townhall by our master, Russell."

"Yep! The old man said we are ant to make sure the guards don’t bother you while all of you do your jobs." Keith explains with a big smile and his hands on the back of his head. "Beats serving his daughters, to be honest."

"K-Keith! You are not ant to say those things!"

He just shrugs while sticking hisntongue out.

"What happened here?" Lisa asks with her hand on her left cheek. "Yesterday this was not like this when I ca to get so supplies I needed."

"Russell called martial law because of what has been going on." Keith shakes his head. "Especially with what happened in the jail... he seed rather interested to hear from you when he learned what unfolded there."

"Oh... maybe a reward?" Aurelia says with a smile.

It was, indeed, not a reward.

Monts later, we find ourselves in front of Russell who is fuming and angry.

"What do you an they deserved it?!" Russell asks angrily at Aurelia.

"They were working for Oswald, obviously!"

"And do you know how it sounds when a prisoner escapes?!" He shakes his head. "I know you want to reach the bottom of this, but I need all of you to be more careful with the stunts you pull off around town!

Do you know what the council asked?! If I was getting too old to keep the city in order! I am 39 years old with a long political career! That is not that old!"

"Things got out of control. The plan was going in and out without being noticed but it did not go as planned." I try to save Aurelia’s ass on this one.

"And why did you go in without waiting for to give an order?"

"We already had Oswald as a suspicious person. If he knew what we wanted, he would have acted. He already had preparations in hand."

"Okay, and what was it? And do you have any evidence so far about his implication?"

"One soldier he had in his pocket confessed to us after reaching a deal. And does the Eye of Right sound familiar to you?"

Russell tilts his head and then looks at the ceiling for a few seconds.

"Yes... the Movers that are in town said sothing about being attacked by a group that called themselves that."

"Well, one of their mbers was waiting for us inside. We made her run, but she ntioned working with the general. And the sa person that confessed to us said that between the soldiers, there are so of the mbers."

Russell sits in his chair while rubbing his temple with both hands. A slight grunt escapes from his mouth.

"I will have to take your word for it." Russell answers. "Especially since, when I tried to talk with Oswald, he was missing. Just what is that man doing?"

"We believe he wants to take over the city." Lisa explains. "Maybe by making you look weak he can make it seem like he is the right choice? So much has happened these past few days, right?"

"That would an he knew about the lich and Leiva’s current situation. And maybe even about the follower of Sul that was doing human sacrifices." I answer.

"Excuse ... human sacrifices?" Russell could not believe what I was saying. "I had reports of missing people but I was not sure it was related, dammit."

I think I just threw a bomb on him.

But thinking about it, it would an knowing too much and having a way to contact those groups with ease. The lich ntions the Traveler and he was there when the house exploded, the sa as Oswald who was right outside.

Vermis, the craze insect guy, did not ntion anything about the Traveler that I rember.

But what if he is behind all of this? Acting as a puppeteer and stringing Oswald along the way?

But for what reason?

"You seem to be thinking about sothing." Russell points out.

"Nothing I am sure." I answer. "We will be more careful." I promise.

I look back at Aurelia when I answer with a stern look and she rolls her eyes at . She does not say it, but her mouth moves like she is saying ’BORING’.

"And I am ant to be the brat?" Karina asks.

Yes, yes you are.

"Keith, Felicia, from now on you are expected to help Miss Amber here." He said to both Felynes that are behind us by the door. "Make sure you can help her with anything she needs and don’t cause her problems... ah! And before I forget, Miss Amber. I spoke with the builder’s guild already, as part of our agreent. Just don’t cause any more trouble around town."

"I promise I will avoid problems." I say.

"Unless you have any other questions, please I need to take care of the ss that the city is in right now."

"I have one!" Aurelia says.

I am turning around when she approaches the desk and leans over it, with both hands holding her weight. The dread that washes over my body in this very mont is sothing to write epics about.

"Where is the money you have been taking from...?"

SMACK!

With a still sheathed Bloodless, I hit her in the back of her head, stopping her from saying sothing stupid. She obviously can take it, but it still seems to hurt her.

"Ouch! What the fuck?!" Aurelia asks after receiving the blunt hit.

"Nothing, she wants to ask nothing! Let’s go!" I grab Aurlia’s tail and start to pull her away from the room. "We will be more careful!"

"H-hey! I told you that is sensible!" She complains but has no other option but to comply.

"Eeeh... okay..." Russell says, extrely confused.

That would have been a nuclear bomb in our direction.

"Aurelia, you cannot just ask that!" Lisa whispers at her. "He will deny everything. Just sneak inside later."

"Neither of you will do that!" I say.

"Boring!" Karina says.

And when we leave.
