Lilac

I blinked the tears away fast, my heart instantly flying into my throat as fear gripped so hard, I’d have lost control of my bladder at once if I had anything in my stomach. The images in front of didn’t change, the two golden eyes was still present.

I want to desperately convince myself that, that wasn’t the beast, and that it was just a fignt of my imagination, but then a low rumble filled the room and all thoughts evaporated out of my head at once.

Oh heavens.

The rumbles began to build up, till a lord roar was tearing through the entire place, piercing through my ears and rattling my entire bones by the sheer loudness. It echoed and bood loudly, the sound engulfing with an imnse amount of fear, and I began to sob again before I could think.

Oh gods.

It’s really a beast in here!

Is it gonna eat ?

The roar continuesd and I cried, knowing there was nothing I could do to say myself at this point. I was too weak to even lift my head, not to talk of attempting to run- and I was certain I was locked in here with this beast so even if I was strong enough to attempt to run, I won’t be able to leave.

Heavy footsteps dragged out of my thoughts and when I forced my hazy eyes to focus, I realized that those piercing, golden, glowing eyes were moving closer with each loud thump on the ground.

The beast was approaching ... to co eat .

A new wave of fright curled through and I whimpered through my tears, crying hard and curling in on myself with the last of my strength.

When the glowing eyes got really close and I was too scared to keep looking at it, I let my eyes fall close while I curled in on myself even more, desperately wishing I could protect myself from this beast.

The fact that I’d be losing my life in the next few seconds rang through my mind over and over again. My heart was racing so fast and I was biting hard on my tongue to refrain from screaming.

An image of Hailey appeared in my mind and the pain within tripled. To my last breath, I’d never regret protecting and defending her. My mind want to Kira, even though she was partly the reason why I was here, I didn’t resent her and I hope you’d take on my role and protect her younger sister with everything she has. I hope the two of them would end up finding happiness no matter what.

Sharp gust of breath hit my throat and I stiffened, my mind going blank as my eyes flew open before I could stop it. My eyes locked with the monster’s golden ones in the next second and I whimpered before squeezing my eyes tightly, a train of sob slipping past my lips as my entire body trembled hard.

Another gust of breath hit my throat again, then my shoulder and arm and I realized that this monster was sniffing , probably to eat right after.

Before I could stop myself, my mouth parted on their own will and a word filtered out in a whisper.

"Please."

I didn’t say anything else, too scared to get any other word out. I didn’t dare open my eyes either, all I did was tried to control my trembling limbs and my sobs, while I awaited his monster to strike and tear apart into pieces.

However, after waiting and waiting, that didn’t happen, and at a point, I ended up passing out.

~~~
When I blinked my eyes open, everything was blurry and I struggled to make out a thing.
As the haze slowly cleared away, when I blinked my eyes open again, I realized that I was in a room that was white in color, and that I was also in a bed. However, four people were hovering over - people I could recognize.
"Good, you’re finally awake." One of the four people barked, it was a woman who had her arms folded.
I stiffened and flinched at the harshness in her voice just as the man standing beside her spoke. "No need to be harsh yet, Rumi. Rember, he’s been out for three days..."
"We’re been kind enough to treat him for the past three days even though the human slaves we have here aren’t worthy enough to be treated in the royal clinic!" The woman snapped in response and I flinched again while trying to connect all what I could pick out.
So, I’ve been passed out for three days and I’m currently in the royal clinic?
My mind struggled to rember what happened before I passed out. I could vividly rember how scared I had been that night, thinking the monster would tear apart... but clearly, that didn’t happen since I’m still alive.
And... why is that?
"Human, what’s your na?" The man who defended questioned, his warm eyes trained on once again. He had brown eyes and a bald head.
"Lilac," I responded wearily as I glanced between the four people. They were dressed in identical clothes, black shirt and trousers- including the two won. Back at ho, won only outfits are dresses or skirts.
"Good. Now, can you tell us what happened that made the beast not kill you? Did you do anything to make him change his mind?" The man continued and I blinked, growing uncomfortable as I shifted in my bed. I could barely feel pain in my body, and I realized that I’ve been thoroughly healed again. Was that so kind of magic?
"I- I don’t know, I didn’t do anything." I responded and they all exchanged glances.
The harsh woman scoffed, giving a scalding look. "Are you trying to tell the beast just chose to not kill you without you doing anything? Because that’s impossible. The prince’s beast kills anything he cos across in that state, no exceptions." She snapped and I flinched again.
"I don’t know... I didn’t do anything, I swear." I responded, right before my eyes widened at a word that just registered within .
The prince’s beast?
"He’s not lying, Rumi. Perhaps the prince is finally getting better and finally getting control of his beast? That could be why." A different man spoke this ti. He had brown hair and a sharp jaw. He also looked like the youngest out of the bunch.
"I don’t think so. Rember, he still tore into a guard last night." The last woman who has her hair in a bun spoke, then they all focused on again and I got filled with the urge to flee,
"This still doesn’t make sense. I don’t trust this human. Why don’t we kill him? He was thrown to the beast with that intent anyway, no?" The harsh woman suggested and I flinched, my eyes widening and panic flooded my veins at once.
"No, that would be a waste." The youngest guy rejected the offer and I was relieved when the other nodded in agreent.
"You’re right that he was thrown to the beast for that intent, but sohow... he survived. I have a feeling there’s a reason he survived." The bald man spoke and I held my breath as the haught woman scoffed and folded her arms.
"Fine. What do we do with him then?"
"For now... he can just be assigned to work as a slave."
