Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Monunt Shattered, River Fallen, Three-Eyed Giant Corpse

In the ancient secret realm...

The black fog suddenly contracted, Zhang Kui and Lu Li trembled their swords, ice spread all over them, anwhile, a group of white-clad Daoists shivered.

Above, Elder Huayan had just shattered two blackened large hands, and after landing, he glanced around the now empty stone path, shaking his head slightly,

"Boy, such a murderous air!"

Zhang Kui laughed and said, "Just cleaning up as I go, not leaving potential harm."

He was in a good mood; in just this short ti, he had amassed six skill points on the interface—it’s like a big fortune.

Elder Huayan nodded,

"That’s true, but you should be careful, too much killing intent brings many calamities in the Celestial Tribulation Realm."

"Thank you, elder, for your guidance."

As the two spoke, their eyes were watching the opposite riverbank.

Zhang Kui had seen clearly just now, the two dark hands ca from the tombstone over there. At this mont, the hundred-ter-high giant tombstone had collapsed a piece, with rolling stones continuously falling.

"Elder, shall we continue to wait?"

Zhang Kui asked, looking ahead.

Elder Huayan chuckled,

"The records from a hundred years ago are vague, with many unclear parts; the old Daoist is really curious about this secret realm with the divine slave."

"Things have co this far; of course, we must investigate thoroughly!"

To reach the other side, we must first cross this black river in front of us.

Zhang Kui thought it was another special trap, but when those Daoists tested it with various thods, they found no danger.

The only feature is the blackness, as black as ink glasses, only reflective, with nothing to see inside.

The crowd did not fret, and they all leaped across, slowly approaching the giant tombstone.

The closer they got, the more they could feel the monunt’s grandeur, almost like a skyscraper.

The base below the tombstone was a single huge rock carved in the form of an evil ghost—its body covered in scale armor, blue-faced with ferocious teeth, seemingly being suppressed by the tombstone.

The group cautiously approached but felt no danger, only that the tombstone kept crumbling away, as if it could collapse at any mont.

"There are pictures on the tombstone!"

A white-clad Daoist exclaid.

With his Cave Abyss Skill, Zhang Kui could see clearly even at night.

Those were reliefs like a series of comic strips.

First was a little man falling into the ground, then wielding an axe to slay a group of strange people.

After erging from the earth, the little man magically turned into a giant, with a pile of little n at his feet worshiping him.

What followed were various sacrificial scenes, with many using animals for ritual, and even more sacrificial humans.

Then, from the sky, giants and gigantic beasts descended, fighting with the giants continuously, while strange people also erged from the ground...

"Seems to be the deeds of the tomb owner during his life..."

Elder Huayan said, stroking his beard.

"The elder is right."

Zhang Kui nodded.

He rembered the murals of Ancient Egypt; those Pharaoh deities often appeared in giant forms, could it be that the tomb owner was once worshiped as a divine spirit?

However, just as he was about to continue looking, a huge rumbling sound erupted, and the tombstone began to collapse and shatter, like a towering building falling.

The ground quaked, rolling dust rose to the sky.

The crowd retreated quickly, Elder Huayan swept his large sleeve, a gust of wind swept up, blowing the approaching dust back.

Five Elents Skill!

Zhang Kui watched with envy.

Earth Demon 72 Techniques also included this, but the power of these things depends not only on level but also on mana, and with his current ability, even with activation it would be of little use.

Better to focus on Self-Cultivation Skill for now; summoning wind and rain for show can wait for later...

The dust gradually settled, leaving only rubble and ruins, the anticipated tomb did not appear.

While the crowd puzzled over this, the black river behind suddenly bubbled massively, and began descending visibly.

A quarter-hour later, the black water completely disappeared into the ground cracks, while rows of statues erged.

Dressed as palace maids, with three eyes on their foreheads—bearing resemblance to the "divine slave," lifelike, gazing blankly at them from the riverbed.

A white-clad Daoist jumped back in fright, stone chips slipped along the river path, striking a "divine slave" statue.

With a crash, the statue fell and shattered.

Amidst the powdery rubble, there was a human skeleton, small-boned, with a hollow on the forehead.

Zhang Kui frowned, "There should be no more danger, but did the Ancient Era truly have three-eyed people?"

Elder Huayan laughed,

"Ancient tis held many secrets, nothing is surprising, things discovered include giants tens of ters tall and tiny people less than a foot. In the East Sun Mountain Secret Realm, they even found three-headed six-ard strange people."

Zhang Kui shook his head; it seed the world’s secrets far exceeded his imagination.

"Look, sir!"

A white-clad Daoist suddenly pointed downward.

Indeed, a stone door appeared there, leading underground to the tombstone’s location.

"Haha, it’s here!"

Elder Huayan laughed heartily, soaring into the air and casually shooting out a bolt of lightning.

The stone door shattered and scattered stones everywhere.

Zhang Kui shook his head.

Too violent, devoid of any technical skill.

But their purpose was to find Ancient Artifact Scripture, apparently having no concept of preserving relics.

Swoosh~

A swirl of Yin Qi roared out, like the last breath of a dying person.

Elder Huayan frowned, looking around with a hint of disappointnt in his eyes, "This place’s spirit veins are depleted, unlikely to find any divine artifact."

Suddenly feeling disheartened, "I’ll go in first, if nothing’s wrong you can co in."

After speaking, his figure flickered, and with a whoosh, entered the cave.

Zhang Kui could understand Elder Huayan’s feelings.

This group of people, every ti they discovered an ancient secret realm, hoped to add a clan-protecting divine artifact to humanity; unfortunately, such things are often so rare and hard to encounter.

Not long after, Elder Huayan’s voice ca from the cave, "Co inside."

Upon hearing this, the crowd jumped down the river path and entered through the stone door.

Facing them was a sloping corridor built with boulder strips, slightly damp with ancient rough patterns carved on it.

The Daoists holding glowing magical artifacts kept moving downward, and after ten minutes, the space suddenly opened into a circular hall over a hundred ters wide.

There were piles of gold, jade discs stacked like mountains, and gigantic bone armors inscribed with strange symbols and scripts. The most striking was the twenty-plus-ter-long giant stone coffin in the center.

The stone coffin lacked a lid, Elder Huayan stood on the coffin edge examining it attentively, looking at Zhang Kui with a smile:

"Co up and expand your knowledge, boy."

Zhang Kui nodded, leaped up, and was suddenly surprised.

Inside, there was a gigantic mummified corpse, over ten ters tall, muscles shrunken to brown wax, his large robe decayed with dry black.

Oddly enough, his forehead had a shriveled eye, with several severely mummified bodies lying beside his sharp-toothed mouth.

Surprisingly, it was exactly the corpse ball from the Yin Cave!

Zhang Kui was astonished,

"Elder, what’s going on here?"

Elder Huayan frowned in thought,

"Judging by the design, this person should be a tribal leader from ancient tis, buried using so kind of secret skill, sealing a divine power in the tombstone."

"Those foreign corpse nurturers you ntioned might be the descendants of the tribe, secretly coming to Central Plains to perform so sacrificial rite, passing on through generations, rare in its application."

Zhang Kui felt a shiver of fear,

"Could this thing want to resurrect?"

"Hahaha..."

Elder Huayan laughed, shaking his head, "Such a long ti, even zombies can’t escape the three calamities and five perils. This person likely wanted to seal his true spirit within the shell."

But then the elder frowned,

"But the shell has perished, a trace of true spirit remaining within would be like karmic fire burning for tens of thousands of years—madness to do it, could he have been wronged?"

Hearing the elder say this, Zhang Kui was also puzzled, glanced at the corpse again, and was imdiately taken aback, a chill rose up his spine.

It was as if he was caught in so kind of illusion realm.

In a daze,

the three-eyed giant corpse unexpectedly opened its eyes...
