Ghost Howl wore a cold sneer on his face, looking eerily sinister to Su Chen, "The first level involves ten second-level blood spirit beasts. As for what exactly they are, I don’t know. Go in. Without trendous potential and perseverance, you’ll just beco their food."

With that, he suddenly opened the iron gate and shoved the still-stunned Su Chen inside!

Bang, the iron door was shut rcilessly and swiftly, plunging Su Chen into an abyss of endless fear and darkness!

Aside from the darkness, there was the scent of blood and decay. In the darkness, Su Chen’s eyes emitted two cold points of starlight. Even though he had no ntal preparation, since he was already inside, there was no reason to retreat.

Suddenly!

Dozens of dim beast oil lamps lit up all around, and Su Chen saw everything before him.

This was a circular beast arena. The surroundings were incredibly hard stone walls, with the sky high overhead. Directly ahead was a massive iron gate as tall as two people. Curiously, to his left in front of the gate, there stood a strange little blood-red tree, and a few ters to the right of the entrance, there was a small pit embedded in the rock wall. The pit was about five ters off the ground, big enough to hide two young boys.

Just as Su Chen finished surveying the situation, he heard the clang of the iron gate ahead opening, and from within ca the sound of deep, steady footsteps echoing forth.

Su Chen’s heart trembled, and he quickly drew the short sword from his back, his eyes fixed intently on the door before him, which seed like a demon’s bloody maw.

A massive lion, about two ters tall, strode out boldly. It had thick, rugged, crimson fur, strong and powerful limbs, sharp claws and fangs, and an aggressive and fierce gaze. Following it out was a hungry lioness growling lowly, and eight long-bodied, murderous monkeys. These ferocious monkeys, with blood-red eyes and long arms dangling to the ground, walked upright, their fur bristly like disheveled steel needles. Seeing Su Chen in the corner, they instantly grew excited, their once gloomy faces now displaying a manic fighting spirit.

"Damn it, it really is ten of them..."

Su Chen cursed inwardly, his gaze sweeping repeatedly over the ten spirit beasts to identify the strongest one among them. According to Ghost Howl, they were all second-level blood spirit beasts, but even among second-level spirit beasts, there were varying strengths. Surely not all ten could be at the early second level, right?

However, the ferocious monkeys wouldn’t wait for him to finish his observation. They suddenly swung their long arms and charged at Su Chen with wild roars!

Without hesitation, Su Chen lifted his sword and dashed towards the pit to the right. His target was unmistakably that small pit five ters above the ground.

Eight ferocious monkeys imdiately let out more brutal howls, their legs skimming over the ground, rushing diagonally forward like thunder. Su Chen cast a "Gale" skill on himself, his speed instantly increasing further. Just as he neared the rock wall with the pit, he suddenly pushed off with both feet, propelling himself upwards with the wind!

"Roar~!"

The eight ferocious monkeys lunged at the rock wall, their fist-like hands pounding heavily on the stone with a dull thud.

Su Chen ducked down into the pit, secretly grateful for being a step ahead, or he would have been pounded into a at patty. After all, he was only a Three-star Beast Warrior. Facing eight second-level spirit beasts, especially blood-attribute, furious spirit beasts, left him with no chance of victory. And even if those below were at the early second level, the two scarlet lions, which had remained silent, were still an unknown. If they turned out to be peak second-level spirit beasts, he’d be torn to pieces upon a single confrontation.

Watching the eight ferocious monkeys raging below, Su Chen let out a silent sigh of relief, but then he suddenly caught sight of the bizarre little blood-red tree.

How could a tree grow in such a dark place? Plus, the tree seed to bear so peach-like fruits? Su Chen was plunged into deep thought.

"Is this pit ant as a hiding place for those who overco the challenge? But what’s the tree for?"

He furrowed his brow, pondering secretly, when suddenly a flash of enlightennt crossed his mind!

He rembered Chang Zhichun once introduced him to a miraculous healing redy called the Blood Spirit Pill, capable of quickly replenishing lost blood. Its raw material, the Blood Spirit Fruit, predominantly grows on Blood Spirit Trees in the Blood Sect’s restricted areas!

If that tree bore Blood Spirit Fruits, it implied the designer anticipated the challenger would be wounded and need the fruits. But then what about the hiding pit? If he stayed hidden there, wouldn’t he not need the Blood Spirit Fruits?

While confused, he was suddenly startled awake by a commotion from below!

The eight ferocious monkeys, after leaping in rage to no avail, started coupling up and leapt onto the pit in four groups! Although they hadn’t yet reached the pit, their repeated attempts brought them closer to Su Chen. Su Chen stood up in alarm, swinging his short sword downward, realizing that the designer had foreseen the monkeys’ ability to leap into the pit, ensuring the challenger would be wounded and thus need the Blood Spirit Tree to supply fruit!

Gritting his teeth, he activated his Beast’s Qi Energy, causing a deep azure stream to form on the short sword. The stream coursed rapidly through his entire body, quickly forming a wind-dominated defense resembling sharp spikes!
