Chapter 63: The President’s Tactics, Impossible to Guard Against!

Qingyun Sect, Headquarters of the “Strategic Developnt and Model Innovation Research Association.”

Chu Feng was lying leisurely on a newly crafted rocking chair, holding a cup of spirit spring tea, eyes half closed, savoring a rare mont of afternoon peace.

He was reviewing the recent “Sect rger Case” and “Saintess Recruitnt Case.”

Everything was under his control.

That old fox Zhao Wuji, after being stripped of his authority, was tornted by KPIs and the “democratic” demands of his subordinates. Now he had been worn down into a compliant, qualified execution tool.

As for Murong Xue—she was a masterstroke on the chessboard.

Chu Feng knew very well that a heaven-favored girl like Murong Xue, raised since childhood under the halo of the “Righteous Path,” possessed a simple, black-and-white worldview. But that also ant her belief system was extrely fragile—like a flower nurtured in a greenhouse, untouched by wind or rain.

As long as she personally witnessed that her so-called “Righteous Path” couldn’t solve real problems, while his “Demonic Path” philosophy could actually help the people at the bottom live better lives—her faith would begin to crumble.

Placing her in the position of “Chief Risk Officer” was ant to turn her from a “bystanding critic” into an “insider problem-solver.”

He wanted her to personally deal with the conflicts between “ideals” and “reality.”

To make her choose between “justice” and “interest.”

Chu Feng could even imagine how conflicted and tornted Murong Xue must be feeling right now in the mining area.

“Hehe, little girl, this is just the appetizer.”

Chu Feng took a sip of tea, the corner of his lips curving into a teasing smile.

“Welco to the adult world of cultivation.”

At that mont, a fierce sword light descended from the sky, filled with barely contained fury, landing in the middle of the courtyard.

“Chu Feng!”

Before the person even arrived, the voice had already exploded through the air.

Murong Xue stord in, frost on her delicate face, anger surging. In her beautiful eyes burned flas of rage.

“You ca quite fast.”

Chu Feng didn’t even lift his eyelids. Rocking his chair lazily, he said,

“So, how is it? Your first day as Chief Risk Officer—quite… challenging, isn’t it?”

His languid, infuriatingly calm tone—as if everything were under his control—only made Murong Xue even angrier.

“Stop pretending you don’t know!”

Murong Xue stood before him, looking down as she questioned furiously, “Did you do it on purpose? You deliberately tied safety to the performance bonus, just to put in a dilemma!”

“If I insist on safety and order a halt in operations, I beco the sinner who cuts off everyone’s livelihood! The miners might not say it aloud, but they’ll hate in their hearts!”

“If I turn a blind eye for the sake of bonuses and let them take risks, then I, as the ‘Chief Risk Officer,’ beco a joke! A hypocrite just like you—soone who sacrifices everything for profit!”

“You put in this position not for so-called ‘safety supervision,’ but because you wanted to see struggle, to force into corruption! How vicious you are!”

Murong Xue grew more and more agitated, her chest heaving violently.

All the grievances she had suffered in the mining area, all the confusion in her heart, erupted into a storm of fury directed at Chu Feng.

However, his reaction once again defied her expectations.

Instead of getting angry, Chu Feng slowly sat up from his rocking chair and looked at her with an expression that seed almost… approving.

“Clap! Clap! Clap!”

Chu Feng lightly clapped his hands.

“Excellent! Truly excellent!”

He praised sincerely,

“Chairwoman Murong, you really didn’t disappoint ! In just one day, you’ve identified the core contradiction of our managent system! Your insight surpasses my imagination!”

“Ah?”

Murong Xue was stunned, her anger montarily dazed by his unexpected flattery.

This wasn’t right! She was scolding him—why was he complinting her?

“You think I’m praising you?”

Chu Feng’s tone suddenly turned serious.

“No! I’m celebrating—for our Group to have soone like you!”

“You’re absolutely right!”

Chu Feng stood up, pacing through the courtyard, his voice full of fervor.

“The issue you discovered isn’t a ‘flaw’ in our Group—it’s the ultimate challenge every manager must face: the balance between ‘safety’ and ‘efficiency’! This is an eternal contradiction!”

“If an organization wants absolute safety, then the best way is to do nothing! But then, what value would that organization have in existing?”

“If it seeks absolute efficiency while ignoring all risks, how is that different from the Demonic Path? Collapse will only be a matter of ti!”

“So, a true manager, a great leader, doesn’t simply choose between ‘safety’ or ‘efficiency’—they walk the tightrope between the two, finding that most perfect, most delicate ‘balance point’!”

Chu Feng stopped and fixed his burning gaze on Murong Xue.

“Why did I put you in the position of ‘Chief Risk Officer’? Why did I give you veto power? Why do you earn such a high salary?”

“Because I don’t need a critic who stands on the sidelines shouting ‘You’re wrong!’—I need a doer who steps into the arena and tackles this ultimate challenge head-on!”

“Murong Xue, I see you as my partner, my comrade-in-arms! I entrusted you with the most critical defense line of the Group! And yet, you co here just to throw a tantrum, to complain about problems?”

Chu Feng’s face showed just the right degree of “disappointnt.”

“Don’t throw the problem back to ! I’m the CEO—I handle strategy! You’re the CRO—you handle risk!”

“You have the authority granted by the Group; you can even mobilize resources (though you’ll need to submit a budget request to Elder Liu first)! I’ve given you the platform, the support! Now, tell , Chief Risk Officer Murong Xue—how will you resolve the conflict between ‘safety’ and ‘efficiency’?”

Murong Xue was utterly stunned.

Her mouth hung open, mind blank, as Chu Feng’s verbal strikes left her dizzy.

He… he had actually dressed up his malicious intent as a “test” and an “empowernt”?

And now he was turning the tables—demanding her to co up with a “solution”?

How could there exist soone so shaless, yet so incredibly persuasive?

She felt as though the punch she’d prepared with all her might had once again landed on a soft mattress made of spirit stones and “grand blueprints.”

And this ti, that man had even tossed her a challenge—one she couldn’t refuse, and maybe… even wanted to face.
