Chapter 405: Chapter 231: Spell Conjecture, Lack of Wisdom Root

Tang Lingwu was feeling dejected outside, but inside the lab, Tang Mudao and Zheng Fa were not faring much better.

Tang Mudao was sitting in front of the computer, looking at the image of the Golden Core product under the electron microscope.

Zheng Fa’s style was a bit odd.

He stood to the side, gesticulating in the air—he was drawing those two Shielding Talismans, to prevent the Spiritual Energy of Rainbow Mountain from interfering with the electron microscope and computer.

To put it simply, he was casting a spell to buff the computer…

This was one of the biggest problems after the Golden Core period—the abundance of Spiritual Energy in Rainbow Mountain made it impossible to use various electronic devices, which was extrely inconvenient.

Nowadays, Zheng Fa refrained from using the Spirit Mountain Technique except when everyone was cultivating.

He had not stopped using the Spirit Mountain Technique now mainly because he wanted to see if Spiritual Materials under the influence of a Spiritual Energy environnt would display any particularly unique properties.

His actions caused Tang Mudao to look back at him now and then, unable to help but mutter sarcastically, “So we’ve finally reached the point of performing rituals in the lab, huh?”

“…”

Zheng Fa wanted to retort, but after so thought, he realized he didn’t understand material science well, and even the electron microscope was tricky to use.

He held back!

“So Professor Tang, have you figured anything out?”

He asked with a smile, not at all bothered by Tang Mudao’s mocking.

“No!”

Tang Mudao shook his head.

Zheng Fa’s smile slowly faded.

“I work in astronomy! Not material science! This thing has more to do with chemistry!” Tang Mudao elaborated confidently, “Besides, with all of it mixed together, what could I possibly make out?”

Tang Mudao had a point:

It’s like Zheng Fa recently concocted a pill and is now asking soone to analyze the contents…

“So Tang, you can’t understand the essence of this thing, nor can you perform rituals?”

“…”

“Director, I’ll try harder!”

Zheng Fa simply ceased using the Spirit Mountain Technique, leaving Tang Mudao gritting his teeth as he struggled with the images on the computer, and walked out of the lab.

Old Man Bai and the others looked over at him.

“How did it go?”

“I think we know too little about material science. I plan to divide this Golden Core product and have Group Leader Yang find so knowledgeable labs to study it.”

After so thought, Zheng Fa decided to directly provide the Golden Core product to various major labs.

Giving them just the images wasn’t intuitive enough; the impact of experintal thods could also lead to inaccuracies in the images—conducting experints, knowing how to experint, also requires professional training.

At least Zheng Fa was not quite up to the task.

“No need for secrecy anymore?”

Old Man Bai was stunned.

“No need for secrecy anymore.”

Hearing this, Old Man Bai turned his head and looked up at the sky.

The sun was just rising, shining brilliantly on its own, not caring in the least how the world perceived it.

Zhao Yan was a material science doctoral student at Beijing University, and her supervisor mainly studied superconducting materials, considered a big shot in the field dostically.

Early in the morning, she bought a stead bun from the cafeteria, holding it with a small plastic bag as she nibbled on it while walking to the lab.

When she arrived at the lab building, Zhao Yan noticed sothing was off.

The building lacked sothing, yet had sothing extra.

She was a laid-back person who usually arrived at the lab just in ti… so typically, there should have been quite a few people in the building already.

But today, this building was eerily quiet, as if devoid of anyone.

Is it a holiday?

No one inford !

The extra stuff was simple—cars and people.

At the entrance of the building, there parked a row of unlicensed black sedans.

Next to the cars stood five or six n, all dressed differently, but their expressions were uniformly cold—their eyes seed to shine as they scanned their surroundings.

With their upright postures and the outline of muscles on their arms.

No matter how you looked at it, they didn’t seem like they should be here.

Perhaps it was because she had looked at them for too long and too obviously, one of the n suddenly turned and looked at her, his gaze sharp as a knife.

Zhao Yan had never seen such people before. She stiffened up, and the stead bun in her hand pitifully rolled off, tragically and unimpededly, falling onto her foot…

“…”

“What are you doing?”

“I… I’m going to the lab…”

Despite the sadness over her fallen bun, in front of these people, she inexplicably did not dare to provoke them and answered honestly.

“Which lab?”

“Professor Lin’s.”

The man who was questioning her turned and took a folder from another person. He opened the folder, which contained so files with photos.

Zhao Yan’s was among them.

“Zhao Yan, right? No problem, go ahead!”

Zhao Yan, full of curiosity, did not dare to ask any questions.

She entered the lab building, quietly observing the eerily empty building; there were no voices on any floor, and every door was shut.

Even every stairwell corner had a strange man guarding it.

When she reached her own lab, there were two n standing right at the entrance!

They didn’t stop Zhao Yan; it seed they already knew she was coming and even nodded at her.

Zhao Yan pursed her lips as she walked into the lab, imdiately closing the door behind her.

All the senior and junior disciples, along with the professor, were there.

She breathed a sigh of relief and slumped into a chair, saying, “Sothing big happened!”

“…A big event? Everyone else has a holiday and we don’t?”

The eldest disciple joked.

But no one in the lab laughed.

“Those people outside… are quite scary.”

Zhao Yan quietly pointed at the door.

“Look at our supervisor.”

A junior ntioned.

Zhao Yan looked towards her own supervisor, Professor Lin, who was berating sothing on his phone, but after a while, he put down the phone, looked at everyone, and said helplessly.

“A last-minute project, study a sample.”

Director Lin smiled at his students as if to ease their nerves.

“It’s okay, it’s a confidential project, don’t stress.”

“…”

After a while, there was a soft knock on the door.

Group Leader Yang appeared at the doorway, her smile much warr than those guarding the doors.
