Zheng, throughout his life, has never favored conflict...
To be frank, he felt a semblance of grievance in his heart—am I not even allowed to choose my death?
Perhaps sensing his frustration, Hong Jun Taoist laughed, with a hint of schadenfreude: "This world was born because of the Nine Luminaries Heaven, and even inherently connected to it."
This was truly infuriating.
He didn’t actually care much about dying, considering he had more than enough life.
But if soone were to find the gateway to the Modern World, that would be trouble.
On one hand, he was unsure about the fate of his modern self and whether it would really affect his life and death.
On the other hand, the Modern World was likely to face a great catastrophe.
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but ask in confusion, "The Creation Taoist... hasn’t he already occupied the Nine Luminaries Heaven? How could he not know about the existence of the Modern World?"
"There is a place in the Nine Luminaries Heaven beyond his control."
Upon hearing this, a flash of insight struck Zheng Fa’s mind, and he exclaid, "Purple Cloud Palace!"
Hong Jun Taoist nodded slightly, confirming his guess, then smiled: "As I’ve seen along the way, you seem to hold deep feelings for this world."
At his words, Zheng Fa turned his face to glance at Tang Lingwu, who should have understood by now the potential great crisis facing the Modern World. Yet, she showed no sign of tension, only smiled at him, her gaze full of reassurance.
How could he not have feelings?
"I..." Zheng Fa sighed deeply, "If I had to choose between the two worlds, I... would choose this one."
The foundation of the Jiushan Realm, or rather, the Xuanwei Realm, was of undeniable importance to him.
The Jiushan Sect represented Zheng Fa’s painstaking efforts; within the sect were senior sisters who shared life and death with him, ntors who cared for and nurtured him, disciples who completely trusted him—all crucial.
But the Modern World held too unique a significance for Zheng Fa.
"A place I can truly call ho is here." Faced with Hong Jun Taoist’s gaze, Zheng Fa unwittingly expressed his deepest sentint: "Only here can I live without worry."
As he gained more experience, Zheng Fa certainly noticed the flaws of the Modern World, which in fact, are many, rendering it far from a perfect place.
Yet early experiences, education received, and people t had cast a filter over it for him.
He even remained cautious, unwilling to disturb the developnt of the Modern World too much. Despite being called Daoist Ancestor, he restrained himself.
Essentially, he did not know whether his actions might bring disaster to the Modern World, hence adopted a thod of governance by non-action.
Just like Hong Jun Taoist said, Zheng Fa actually did the most in the Modern World by providing a safety net for each person:
Ensuring ordinary people could live without worry about food and clothing.
Enabling talented young individuals to receive education.
Allowing scholars with knowledge and ideas to excel.
Beyond this, he hardly did anything else, almost afraid to do more, not wanting to disrupt the beauty of this world.
Yet this Modern World he treasured was about to et the Creation Taoist?
The Creation Taoist is not picky; he consus everything!
How could Zheng Fa not feel aggrieved?
"Obtaining the Hongng Purple Qi, can it prevent the Creation Taoist from finding the Modern World?"
"This is not the function of Hongng Purple Qi, simply that Hongng Purple Qi itself is untraceable, if it weren’t for it concealing the gateway to this world...how could this world be so tranquil?"
Hong Jun Taoist’s explanation left Zheng Fa sowhat puzzled, prompting him to ask again: "Daoist Ancestor, what is Hongng Purple Qi truly used for?"
He had never asked this before because he had actually prepared for the worst, so he didn’t pay much attention to this thing.
But now that Zheng Fa changed his mind, he naturally needed to get to the bottom of it.
Hong Jun responded with a question instead: "Do you hold a grudge against the Golden Crow?"
"Daoist Ancestor, are you referring to Lu Yao?" Zheng Fa hesitated before answering, "To speak the truth, I haven’t had much interaction with him; our dispute mainly arose because of Fusang Wood."
"Fusang Wood, is indeed a matter of life and death feud."
Hong Jun Taoist chuckled and began, "Do you know Lu Yao’s origins?"
Though Zheng Fa didn’t understand the reason for the inquiry, he still nodded: "This person has transitioned across four lifetis, his first life should have been as the Demon Emperor, which is what you referred to as the Golden Crow."
"Later, he transitioned into the Human Clan and established Haori Mountain, one of the later Five Sects of Xuanwei."
"For reasons unknown, he then transitioned into the Original Demon Ancestor."
"In this lifeti, he entered the Buddhist Sect."
Speaking of Lu Yao, Zheng Fa considered him quite industrious and resilient.
"In his first life, he ca into contact with Hongng Purple Qi."
Zheng Fa was astonished—such fortune had Lu Yao’s fate bestowed upon him?
No wonder he could validate his path as the Demon Emperor in his first life.
"Rather, he knew about Hongng Purple Qi yet couldn’t acquire it." Hong Jun Taoist looked at Zheng Fa and asked, "Do you know why?"
Suddenly, a spark of inspiration erged in Zheng Fa’s mind: "Human Clan? He’s not of the Human Clan? Hongng Purple Qi can only be obtained by humans?"
A faint smile appeared on Hong Jun Taoist’s face, as if acknowledging a teachable student.
Only now did Zheng Fa understand why Lu Yao opted for his first reincarnation—for the sake of obtaining Hongng Purple Qi!
Lu Yao relinquished his status as Demon Emperor to reincarnate as a human, leveraging his previous foundation to establish Haori Mountain, all with the goal of acquiring Hongng Purple Qi.
"And when he later reincarnated as the Original Demon Ancestor..." Zheng Fa murmured, "was it also for this reason?"
"How did you co to sit on the mat?"
Zheng Fa delved into his recollections: "I assisted Nuwa in creating humans, thus gaining rit, and then realized the Yellow Court Inner Scenery Scripture..."
"That person did sothing similar."
Sothing similar?
