Watching Gu Yourong flee in a panic, Zhong Lin laughed heartily.
Teasing my senior sister once in a while can be quite satisfying, at least it improves my mood a lot.
In the next half-month, Zhong Lin didn’t leave the house. Every day, he stayed ho ingesting elixirs and training. Because of this, his inner breath grew rapidly, turning from a fine strand into a torrent, though it would take so more ti to fully fill his Dantian.
Two things happened during this ti. First, i family head i Haiqing delivered a trove of gold and silver treasures, which he claid were spoils from the destruction of Black Wind Village.
The other event was the arrival of the first batch of supplies sent by the Gu Family from Linyue, consisting entirely of various rare dicinal herbs.
Zhong Lin converted all these herbs into the materials needed to refine the Great Rejuvenation Pill, and then crafted hundreds of elixirs, enough to sustain his cultivation for a while.
Half a month later, under the guidance of his Master, Zhong Lin, i Weixuan, Gu Yourong, along with a young boy nad Little Stone, set off for the Mountain Gate of the Sword Cauldron Sect.
Without taking a carriage, everyone rode on horseback. They chose thousand-mile horses, with Little Stone and Zhong Lin riding together on one.
"Second brother, are we moving again? Will we be further away from Brother Xiu?" Little Stone pouted.
Little Stone hadn’t forgotten his first good friend and missed him greatly.
"This should be our last move; we won’t move again after this. Once we’re there, train well, and when you grow up, you can go wherever you want."
Zhong Lin patted Little Stone’s head, smiling.
"Really?"
"Really."
"Second brother, is the sect far away?"
"I don’t know either, as I’ve never been there. You can ask Senior Sister Yourong."
Gu Yourong turned her head, smiling, and said, "It’s not far. At our current pace, we can reach it in a month."
The group moved continuously eastward, passing through Tianyang County, Huayang County, Taigu County, and Jiuhu County, covering thousands of miles. After a month, they finally arrived beneath a series of undulating mountain ranges.
At a glance, one could see, in the boundless distance, the mountain ranges were filled with peaks reaching high into the sky, straight as swords.
So peaks were lush and green, others blood with flowers at the top, and still more had countless waterfalls cascading from the peaks, looking like nurous jade dragons.
The sky was a deep blue, like blue crystal, with not a cloud in sight. The sun shone brightly, its soft and bright rays descending, untainted.
On those hundreds and thousands of peaks, pine trees twisted with gnarled branches, exuding an aura of ancient primordial wilderness.
The location of the Sword Cauldron Sect’s mountain gate was on the highest peak among these mountains.
"Is this the Sword Cauldron Sect? It’s magnificent."
i Weixuan’s mouth was slightly open, his face full of shock.
Little Stone also had his mouth agape, looking up with his small head, exclaiming repeatedly.
Gu Yourong watched the three’s reactions with a smile. Her first visit to the Mountain Gate with Elder Yin had seen her react similarly, even more clumsily.
"Let’s go! Enter the Mountain Gate."
Yin Daoyan spurred his thousand-mile horse forward, taking the lead on the path extending from the mountain.
The others followed suit, not stopping along the way.
As they reached the foothills, the path beca increasingly steep. The horses could no longer climb, so they had to tether them by the roadside and proceed on foot.
Halfway up the mountain, the path suddenly widened, and orderly stone steps appeared abruptly around a bend.
While the previous path was a rugged mountain trail, this one was truly a bright, broad road. Looking up, it seed to stretch endlessly.
Zhong Lin felt a sense of awe. It’s indeed a thousand-year-old sect, capable of constructing such a grand project amidst these deep mountains. He couldn’t fathom how it was accomplished in such an environnt.
As Zhong Lin gazed into the distance, a flash of light appeared above, followed by a sharp, piercing screech that soared towards them.
A silver-white long arrow shot from beside the path, descending fiercely.
This arrow was nacing, but it wasn’t aid at them. Instead, it landed precisely on a stone step ten ters away from them.
The ferocity of the arrow piqued Zhong Lin’s interest. The archery skill was already on par with his own, marking the first ti since leaving Black Mountain County that he’d encountered such a master of the Bow Technique.
"Halt! Who dares to intrude into our Sword Cauldron Sect without announcing their na?"
A stern voice suddenly echoed through the valley, followed by a young man with a sword on his back and a longbow in hand, sprinting towards them from the distance.
Running as if the rocky terrain were flat ground, breathing smoothly and steadily, moving with the swiftness of an arrow and the agility of an ape, he was a Middle Third Grades martial artist.
This man stopped ten ters away from them, in front of the silver arrow. He was a youth of about twenty-five, tall and upright, with a cold and stern face, his black eyebrows like the wings of an eagle, furrowed eyebrows pressing downward, with a glint in his deep eyes that could penetrate one’s soul.
However, upon recognizing the newcors, the piercing light in his eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a look of surprise and delight.
"Elder Yin, Senior Sister Gu, it’s you returning."
Yin Daoyan looked at the person before him and said with a chuckle, "Jiucheng! Why are you the only one guarding the Mountain Gate? Where’s the other one?"
Jin Jiucheng scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed: "With is Senior Brother Kaiwen. His stomach was feeling unwell, so he’s resting at the Guest Pavilion halfway up the mountain."
"Unwell? Did he steal wine again?" Gu Yourong interjected teasingly.
Jin Jiucheng scratched his head awkwardly, unsure how to respond.
Yin Daoyan scolded playfully, "That rascal, lead the way."
"Yes."
The group ascended the steps, reaching a pavilion at a bend shortly after.
The pavilion was simple yet elegant, spacious and bright, lacking in opulence but possessing an aura of grandeur.
At this mont, a young man, reeking of alcohol, lay snoring on the stone table inside the pavilion, with several empty wine bottles tipped over next to him.
Along the way, through Gu Yourong’s explanations, Zhong Lin learned that the nearby Jin Jiucheng and the drunken Wang Kaiwen were both disciples of Elder Lian Shan from Wind Fire Peak, technically his senior brothers.
However, Zhong Lin had already succeeded in Qi Cultivation, becoming an Upper Third Grades martial artist, and could therefore independently lead a peak.
This was also a rule of the Sword Cauldron Sect; as long as one succeeded in Qi Cultivation and reached the Upper Third Grades realm, they would beco a True Disciple, capable of leading a peak independently:
True Disciples also have two choices: compete for the position of Sect Master or beco a Sect Elder if they choose not to compete, allowing them to open a peak and recruit disciples, or, like Yin Daoyan, establish a hall in the mundane world.
The sect serves as your support, but you must similarly seek benefits for the sect.
Currently, the entire Sword Cauldron Sect has three Supre Elders, nine ordinary Elders, and twenty-two True Disciples.
aning, the Sword Cauldron Sect boasts thirty-four martial artists of the Upper Third Grades, excluding the First Grade Sect Master.
