"Mr. Li, I’ve prepared everything; we can leave now."

"Ready to pull off a big one?"

"Always ready, sir."

The two n prepared a full set of needed items, boarded a plane, and flew directly to New York.

This ti, to be on the safer side, both of them used fake identities, not knowing if anyone was paying attention to them, but it was better to be cautious.

Under John’s guidance, they arrived at a very ordinary 7 Days Holiday Hotel, with rooms priced at just over a hundred US dollars.

"They really know how to keep a low profile, holding onto projects worth tens of thousands of US dollars, yet deliberately staying in a hotel that costs a little over a hundred a night. Your sense of confidentiality is comndable."

Li Ang stood in front of the hotel sign, offering rare praise.

"Uh... actually, it’s because of our travel budget standards. Recently, headquarters brought in a new woman to manage us; to cut costs, it turned out like this."

Sensing the surprise in Li Ang’s eyes, John continued:

"Sir, I really don’t want to bring up this topic, but the last ti our team attacked you, the base we chose was not just because it was remote, but also because the rent was cheaper, and we even had four people sharing one room..."

John’s words left Li Ang silent for a long while, after which he reluctantly asked:

"How much do you guys get for a mission? It must be several thousand US dollars at least, right? Why didn’t you think about switching to a better environnt?"

John answered sowhat sheepishly:

"That’s true, but who would want to spend their own money at work?"

...

Being able to find out which hotel they were staying at was already the result of John’s best efforts; as for which room they were in, they’d have to rely on people staking it out.

"The likelihood of them coming out today is honestly not very high, but they’re bound to co out eventually. The worst-case scenario would be ambushing them as they leave for the auction, and seizing an invitation then, which wouldn’t be too late."

"Additionally, one of the bodyguards in our team has a habit of calling call girls, which is another breakthrough, serving as a supplentary plan..."

After hearing John out, Li Ang nodded.

Any plan could have flaws; the more detailed the plan, the more likely it was that unexpected issues could disrupt it.

It was exactly these types of plans, prepared with multiple contingencies and open-ended strategies, that were more feasible for practical implentation, with a higher success rate.

Perhaps because the auction tomorrow was indeed very important, John had been on duty all night, following no less than ten prostitutes, yet none of the outcos were ideal.

Thus, the quieter approach wasn’t an option, and they would have to go for a more challenging plan tomorrow.

The next morning at eight o’clock, Richard left the hotel, appearing slightly disheveled, accompanied by his deputy, two operational bodyguards, and a driver.

He swore to himself that the next ti he traveled, he would add so of his own money to stay at a better hotel.

He didn’t know where the lecher had co from, who had kept going until midnight. And the hotel’s soundproofing was inadequate; he felt as though his brain had been bashed all night long.

However, the thought of applying for leave after today’s auction sowhat lifted his spirits.

The four of them waited by the roadside, while the driver went to fetch the car.

Five minutes later, the driver leisurely drove the car over from the parking lot.

"Next ti, be more aware of the timing. Considering the traffic, we’d better leave earlier."

Rubbing his eyes, Richard stepped into the van.

But as soon as he got in, he noticed sothing was off. There was another person in the back of the van!

The sight of the figure jolted him awake, and his hair stood on end.

He instinctively stepped back, wanting to get out of the van.

But by then, the man wearing a CS-style mask had already reached for his tie.

With what seed like a gentle tug, Richard was uncontrollably slamd against the backseat, and though he had just woken up, he was plunged into confusion again.

What was happening?

Wasn’t this kidnapping technique sothing they frequently used?

How had he beco the target today?

The sudden turn of events, coupled with the loud thump of Richard crashing into the seat, quickly drew the attention of the three people waiting to get into the car behind him.

The two operational bodyguards didn’t hesitate to join him in the van, given that Richard was central to today’s events and carried everything important. If anything happened to him, they all knew running would be futile and returning ho wouldn’t bring any good news.

"He’s alone!"

Hearing the words of the two who had just entered the van, the deputy also charged in, not wanting to miss out on sharing the credit.

John, who was inside the van holding a gun at the driver, was stunned.

He hadn’t expected Li Ang’s prediction to co true, that leaving just him in the back would suffice to capture one, and the others would obediently follow.

Li Ang didn’t imdiately deal with the three who ca on board willingly; instead, he first closed the van door and had John lock it.

As the few inside the van pulled out their guns and pointed them at Li Ang, and saw the situation inside, they couldn’t help but feel puzzled.

"Wait, just the two of you in here, kidnapping five of us? What were you thinking?"
